The song 'Psycho Killer' was first written in 1973-74 while Byrne was still at RI School of Design. Later on Weymouth and Franz would add their touches to it. It was the first song Byrne ever wrote.

Recorded in 1977 and released December, 1977 on 'Talking Heads, '77'.

The Fools recorded this parody in 1980 and released it as a promo single with their lp.

The Aussie tv show played the 1980 promo video on the program in the late 80's and someone taped it and now it is here...

You are not or were not hallucinating. This song was first played by radio stations in the late 70's from a promo tape given to them from the band.

Then it was released as a 45 rpm as a bonus record inserted in the jacket of the bands debut major label record "Sold Out" in 1980.

I believe it was only the first 30 or 40,000 records which had this 45.

It was yellow and had a side that was clucked and a side that was Fbleeped..They sing fuck thru-out the song when they play live
