  • the mainstream most difficult cello concertos (no specific order):

    Barber

    Haydn D

    Prokofiev Sinfonia Concertante

  • Genial peciosa! soy tu fan!

  • At first I was a bit sceptical because this piece of music is so incredibly hard. But the second half was played so beautifully that I could forget about all my concerns ;-)

  • Пипец!!!!!!!

  • how can you post this?

    terrible...

  • @15cellist Yeah that Haydn is transformed to a sad fight between soloist and orchestra for owning a candy:(

  • THis sounds bad!!!!

  • @zaokoyechatma : yes!!! terrible!!!!

  • Great performance! I really enjoyed listening to and watching you play. I must ask however, why a piano bench?

  • great job! very musical. Haydn D is my least favorite concerto to play. So hard to keep in tune.

  • Thank you!

  • Nicely performed, lovely and a bit stormy band also.

  • 4,000 views! Awesome Robyn!

  • Nice!!!! :D

  • Bravo!

  • good job! looking forward for the first movement

  • Thanks! I hope to be able to perform the entire thing with an orchestra someday soon... it is such a fun concerto =]

  • I wouldn't say it is the hardest- the first movement is rather rough...the third is not bad. However, I digress. As a student, playing with your school orchestra..you did a marvelous job!! Brava!

  • Thanks! Yeah and I'd definitely have to agree with you on that, first movement is way worse!

  • Sorry about that, that last comment was accidentally posted from a different username.

  • Lol this isn't the most diffcult concerto. There is still Schumann, Dvorak, Rococco variation, etc. Unless I misunderstood something.

  • I hate to argue, but it is regarded in the professional world as the most difficult cello concerto... the only concerto that is occasionally considered more difficult is the Barber. Schumann is up there, too, but Dvorak and Rococo are not as hard as they sound. I don't want to sound like I am bragging about being able to play the Haydn... I am still an incredibly long way off from being able to play it at a truly professional level!

  • i am studying this concerto now and i would most definitely agree with you. i am also studying the Rococco Variations and i feel like i am rehearsing the Haydn much more! music from Haydn's period is takes the most nimblest of playing. you can slop around on the Dvorak and Tchaikovsky but NOT this! by the way you played very well! you will be fine!

  • What about the Prokofiev Sinfonia Concerto? Is that more difficult? I don't play cello myself but it certainly sounds tough...(last thirty seconds the cello goes higher than the piano...O_o

  • I haven't actually played it, but that one is supposedly really difficult as well! o_O

  • @Hidinginastorm

personally, i find Haydn in C harder

  • Yeah, the Dvorak and other romantic period pieces have a lot of room for imperfections. The Haydn is completely transparent, and everything has to be perfect for it to sound good.

  • nice recording! hmm, are you playing with ur school orchestra? it reminds me of my school orchestra haha

  • Yes, this is my school orchestra hahaha

  • The orchestra was hilarious! xD

  • the orchestra has intonation problems. you were great, but now you should definitely find a better orchestra to play this with

  • That was so AMAZING. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!

  • NOt bad :) can you cheq out my Wagenseil cello concerto?

  • Thanks so much! haha around 3:50=NOT SO GREAT, but I am glad you enjoyed the recording!

  • This is great!!!!!!!!!!!
