I thought the original ninja gaiden was an nes exclusive...then I saw a master system version, and now this.....I better check to see if there was an early colecovision version :)
Whutup getogama. Fuckn finally there's sumbody doin this kinda shit. Fuck. First lemme say thanks dog. Hahah. Took me a min 2 cum across u but damm there's nuthin like the old skool. My names vince. But aye meng u should hit up maximum carnage for the super Nintendo dog. Im sure u already played it but I like your reviews. Haha. Its another beat em up. Its a classic
Huh, god damn this looks better than the NES version. Looks smoother too, considering the controllers are so similar probably just as easy to get the hang of.
Dude I never knew this version existed I will get my hands on it and try it out looks great the old school one's were the best you might want to check out the Sega Master system version also not released in the states also a great one
Some of these youngsters have what I like to call "Tunnel vision" when it comes to recognizing a classic gem, wouldn't know one if they tripped over it, that's why their knowledge is limited to Xbox, PS3, and Wii only, LOL. I kick gaming knowledge from the Odyssey all the way down to PS3 without missing a console, just glad that I lived the greatest generation:NES,GENESIS,TURBO,GEO,SNES ETC
Good review my man, I love every damn Ninja Gaiden under the sun and while the newer ones are outstanding I'd pick a Ninja Gaiden Classic over any, any day 24/7, I killed all damn Ninja Gaidens incuding Black, and NOTHING outdoes the Classic Gaidens, whoever disproves has clearly never lived the moment to finish a classic gaiden. This is a clearcut gem, so fuck the haters and keep shining bro.
this is a really awesome version of Ninja Gaiden :) and I love what you said about the graphics not being everything one of my friends believes that good graphics are extremely important -_-
You can also play the game in English. At the title screen press and hold button I and II then hit select. Babaaaaaaaaam, English! You can also select Chinese but what good is that, lol. Too bad the music is completely different, but still a great game to play.
the trilogy on snes had better graphics than the nes versions but everything looked the same, just more smooth. this game actually made things look better.
I stand corrected. Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for the SNES has the games in their original versions with no graphical improvements. That does make this version unique.
@Chocheonline: The copyright is 1992. It's right there in the video. You can't miss it. Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for the SNES was released in 1995, just three years later. Also, the SNES was released in America in 1991. To me the graphics on this are more colorful than the original Nintendo version, but actually drawn in less detail than the original Nintendo version.
@GetoGama That's not my point..i know graphics aren't everything. My point is that the xbox Ninja Gaiden games are brilliant and to say they're just graphics is ridiculous!!
You do realize the SNES got the original trilogy re-released in a similar fashion right. This isn't really that special, considering that the sound is largely the same as it was on the NES.
Although it's cool that you prefer the 8 bit versions of Ninja Gaiden, I gotta disagree with you that the new games suck. Yeah, the sexy makeover it got is nice, but there's much more to it than that. The gameplay is top notch, and any player can master it as long as they understand the fundamentals of the controls like blocking, counterattacking and evasion.
Ninja gaiden 3 was available for the atari lynx, it is really hard and does not look that hot, when you consider that the lynx was a lot more powerful than the nes.
the story of Ryu Hyabusa goes that, Ryu's dad was on a mission to destroy the statue of evil lead by the evil Juaqio emperor. Thank you geto 1 for tellin the stupid fucks out there that it's a game of interest to the mind instead of graphics, it leads you on to keep playing for further interest. It's like a fuckin old timer nintendo gamer who demands the next move besides the next graphic. That's what makes a game!!
NES version 10 x 0 Turbo-Crapx - And man, stop talking like a nigga. You are a annoying Snow White boy that loves 50cent and sleeps before 22 o'clock. I mean c'mon...
@GetoGama I wonder if youre from l.a. cali, i mean, thats were i'm from. born in south central where all the little hispanic stores had arcade machines out the woodwork. anyway, your voice reminded me of a dude i new from panama. he was cool as hell. but ah, for those who hate on the arcade version, that game was the original, altho in japan it was called shadow warriors. but when i bought the nes version, i didnt like it at first but then the story sucked me in. pretty cool.
One of my all time favorites, but I must disagree with one thing you said during your review. The next generation Ninja Gaidens, both 1 and 2, for the XBOX and XBOX 360 do NOT suck. True, the graphics are bad ass, but the game play is phenomenal simply because it is responsive to commands, intuitive, not to mention the button lay-out is easy to learn and hard to master. I am old school and I have not found a shitty version of Ninja Gaiden on any console. Even the arcade version is tits.
Please check again. I can assure it wasn't. You were limited to hopping from wall to wall. You couldn't actually climb up and down in NG1 for the NES. You had to improvise by jumping off the wall and pressing back towards it to get higher. Hitting up on the D pad to climb was not introduced till part 2.
There are actually some parts in the game that you do climb although must of the game you're just doing the jumping and hopping back and forth onto the same wall. Play the game again and you will see that there is a part or two in the game that you can climb a wall.
Hahahahaha, "Check this shit out", "you gotta get this bitch", "Graphic's ain't everything". You give the best review ever!!! He's a man that appreciates his video games. Keep up the good work. I love this game, I love my Turbo Grafix. Good job!
this definitally looks much smoother then most nintendo games of that style. wish i could get it I would in a heartbeat it looks fantastic. it would be a great game to play in my spare time.
holy wow its not all glitchy kinda shocked i hit this game up on my nes all the time haha and yeah graphics arent everything game play is very important thanks for posting this
Honestly, I think the Hudson Soft remake butchered the soundtrack. This is kind of a big deal cause when you talk about the Ninja Gaiden trilogy, you're talking about one of best soundtracks in 8 bit history. To be fair, the music sucked in the SNES remake to.
you got a point. if your used to the nes versions music and love it, then any remake of the music wont be the same. what i liked is they remade it from the ground up, and if your a real big fan of this title, then it will be cool to have a different version all together cause the original will always be there. - GG
The grahpical face lift was still nice though. Jaquio looked like a total bad ass in this version and his castle looked like a bunch of moaning souls. At least from what I can tell from the youtube. Never did play this version.
This is off the hook compare to any other make of it. Although, if anything is different about this one, it's only that the music in the game has been tweaked. It's alright though because the game is fantastic on TG16.
The New Ninja Gaiden does suck.
