If it wasn't for this unprecedented amount of injuries to defenders Miquel wouldn't be getting a sniff of first-team action, he'd be in the Reserves. Miquel's just been very lucky. Bartley is the one being afforded excellent opportunities with his two spells at the Scottish champions.
Bring Bartley back for what? At the very best he would be 4th choice, more likely he'd actually be behind Djourou as 5th choice. So Bartley sits on our bench for a while, and then once Sagna is fit at the end of January Djourou goes to the bench and Bartley drops out of the matchday squad all together. He's playing at Rangers and getting valuable experience so he can genuinely compete with Kos/TV/Per in future. He won't improve sitting on the Arsenal bench.
Another very solid performance by Kyle in a big game. He just seems like a natural defender and warrior.
The only problem is he has a distinct lack of composure on the ball compared to other Arsenal CBs. He's a good distributor but he often just puts the ball out of play or plays the simplest pass which isn't something Arsene would be happy with and why I worry he won't make it here.
I'm hopeful he'll at least get a chance in the squad next season ahead of Squillaci though.

We coping quite well without our full backs barring no injuries, Squillaci is our 5th !!! choice center back. Bartley would be our 5th/6th choice!! Sanga/Jenkinson should be back soon, left back is the worry Vermaelen/Miquel Should cope short term. When everybody is fit Squillaci won't even be on the bench like Almunia.
