'Hae' has many meanings in Korean; Sun, Sea, etc(even means 'wound' but not at this case). Koreans think that mean 'sea', because of A poem written at 1908, but who said sun is impossible?

well, well, its name is "해에게서 소년에게Hae [e gae] s(e)o sonyon [e ge]"([] means non space but need space when sound trans to english. Speak [e] like umlaut and (e) like non-sound but connect s and o)

i'd just wanna point out the wrong translation of the title..

'hae eh ge suh so nyun eh geh' is translated 'from the sea to a boy', not 'the sun', because 'hae' here is a hanja, which means 'sea'.

the original title is from a poem by choi nam suhn.

i think you don't realy understanding korean

"hae" is "sun" not the sea in this song and this song is no relation with that poem

you mentioned there's no relation of the 'sea' and this song. but have you realized it does not have anything to do with the 'sun' either? plus, the animation 'lazenca' has nothing to do with the sun, too. i guess shin's making pun (not fun) of the title. how do i know? c'mon, i've been a fan of his for effing 20 years and i know his proclivity of using his nerdy - not intellectual - wit on his works. e.g. monocrom (monochrome + cromwell), wittgenstein, etc.

well i remember my high school days when we learn about the poem and everyone was pretty shocked to find out hae in the original was not the 'sun' but 'sea' and that choi was one of the pro-colonization figures. (they are severely condemned as traitors nowadays) funny thing is that this phenomenon is not limited to me and my classmates --- but every single n.ex.t fan i talked with...
