In the new trailer I see nukes going off...Rorschach sounds like freakin' Batman, as opposed to the teaser, where he sounded decent...and they call themselves Watchmen. Pretty sure they never refer to themselves as Watchmen in the graphic novel.

Why do people keep burning Snyder cuz they thought 300 was bad, seriously he had to work with the novel whats he gonna do make a whole new story of 300 and call it an adaptation of the novel, no he has to follow what he's got. And he made 300 a pretty good movie even with its crap script well now he has a good script with Watchmen so it will be awesome.

Agreed. A lot of people didn't like the ultraviolent nature, the surreal visuals or the soundtrack, but he was aiming to capture the feel of the graphic novel, which he did superbly. The book itself panders to very specific tastes so obviously the movie would too.

Trust me when I say that isn't so. The graphic novel is one of the best I've read. It was more of a character study and a philosophical analysis of human nature than an action story.

Any problems I have with 300 rests in the source material. I usually love Frank Miller, but 300 didn't interest me when I read it. It had it's moments, but it was no Sin City or Dark Knight Returns.

Zack Snyder took a book that was "Eh" and made it "Kind of all right, I guess" as a film. That is actually saying a lot.

Imagine what he can do with awesomness incarnate like "Watchmen."

He's already made me love a song by a band I dispise by using it in the trailer.

Im a big fan of the comic book but originally the only real superhero with real supernatural powers was Dr.Manhattan so they better not make all the other characters have super powers like the Comedian, Nite Owl,and Silk Spectre because they were all ordinary people that put on costumes and became masked vigilantes out of there will to do good...but never the less there is hope for for the film....and The Question looks amazingly done just like i would imagine him if he were in a film

because the the comic and graphic novel is way to good to mess up and im never really all that excited about Hollywood making a movie out of a comic book anyway i always wait until i see it to consider is because you never know....plus yes the man that is making it did a killer job with the visuals and all but the preview was only two minutes so you cant really predict anything. i mean Spiderman 3 sucked but the previews looked good and that was like the most exciting chapter

Snyder may succed in making a colorfull visual spectacle, as he did with 300, but as it concerns to the graphic novel artistic and subtext complexity, he will absolutely fail.

I have a bad feeling that's what will happen. Of course 300 was terrible especially in terms of its script but this is Watchmen, surely he can't fail to deliver a plot with enough depth to at least do some justice to the source material? We just have to wait and hope.

he could make a good script only by rewriting the graphic novel, the thing he always scrwe up, is the converting process from a dialogues and image lenguaje of the G.N to the movie, you will see, the watchmen was simply made as a graphic novel, and it can not be other way, it can't be a tv series, or a movie.

What? Overused slow motion in combat. Lack of tension in the fight scenes because of the overuse of slow mo.

Overly fictionalized portrayal of the Spartans, so much so that their eventual defeat looked unconvincing. They made the Persians look super weak, then made the death of the Spartans look super unconvincing, in contrast to what had happened throughout the movie, which saw very few Spartans die. The script was poor. The characters suffered as a result and seemed totally uninspired.

After watching 300 hundred I'm not convinced by Snyder but the Watchemen is a better story than 300 so hopefully it's also a better movie. Less slow motion in the action scenes would help.
