  • do British royals do the same at weddings

  • Viva Danmark ! Hurra, Hurra, Hurra !!!

  • This is a very beautiful wedding, and I just love the Queen and her Prince. The Queen seems like a very nice person and I have heard that the people of Denmark love her and her prince. There is a lot of love in the eyes of this royal couple. Wish them a lifetime of love and joy.

  • Beautiful couple and so much in loved~~

    Bless you~~

  • what was the song they danced to? i would love to know

  • @nicolepinniger10

The music is called 'brudevalsen' = the wedding wals' from the ballet 'Et Folkesagn' = a people's tale'

All Danish bridal couples dance to that.

  • this looks like something right out of a fairytale!!!! i wish we had traditions like this!!!!!!!!!!

  • They are just the most beautiful couple.

  • Fred is so gorgeous.

  • The BIG BIG BIG WEDDING!!!!ALL PERFECT!!!! WONDERFUL. Other Wedding VERY NICE the Prince Haakon and now the Princess Victoria. The Wedding the Prince of North ARE THE BEST OF MONARCHY.

  • awwwww

  • AFSKAF MONARKIET....

  • I love this! :)

  • so romatic!!!!!!

    i love it...

  • Why are Kings of Denmark always named "Frederick" or "Christian" -- alternately? (Frederick's father was named "Christian", -- & so is his son!) Is there some kind of superstition at work here?

  • Its simply tradition. Most countries have 2-4 names that almost all kings is named. In Denmark its Christian & Frederik as you mention. Often the Crown Prince has both names. Also it doesn't strictly alternate everytime. If that were the case Frederik would had become Christian XI, as the last Danish King was Frederik IX (Queen Margrethe's father), but because Queen Margrethe became regent a step is "skipped" he will become Frederik X. By the way CP Frederik's fathers name is Henrik (Henri).

  • They are not... They are called FrederiK or Christian. And it's just tradition.

  • WIW !!

    I'd like to me,too.

  • The servant tries to move Prince Henrik out of the way. He doesn't move. So the Queen pulls him out of the way and he moves.

Dane I know who know him don't care for him. He has never been able to accept that in Denmark, he is not number 1, and he lets eveyrone know about it.

  • In short - EXCELLENT!!MAGNIFICENT!!

  • It is so romantic that now I wish I could marry a danish man, so I can dance it... (blushing!)

  • shut down all the royal houses of denmark and give all the money to the poor people of denmark

  • so!!,,,which part in the world are you living in???...

  • Do they spend public money or it it largely their own family money?

  • @1401JSC Do you think any danish citizen would complain that they spent public money for this wedding? I don't think so. In fact, it's a delight for them to have such a beautiful thing once at a couple years. This day is a celebration day and the citizens are free from work to watch the wedding, and they actually do, all of them.

  • @1401JSC If you count how much a country spends with her royalty and how much with a president, including the very costly election, the firs choice is a lot cheaper and brings ten times more satisfaction to the people and more image for the country.

  • Who wrote the music? When? So wonderfully royal...and with an unmistakable Scandanavian sound!

Like Frederick and Mary, totally, wonderfully perfect!

Thanks so much for this video!!!!!

  • this is the typical wedding dance melody in denmark.. :)

  • The name of the song is "Brudevalsen" (The Bride's Waltz) by Niels W. Gade from the ballet "Et Folkesagn".

It's a Danish tradition that all newly married couples dance to this piece of music, on the day od their wedding.

  • @Crueligan Thanks for the information! It' is a beautiful melody!

  • Lææænge leve Danmarks kommende kongepar!!!

    Bliver helt rørt....

  • This wedding waltz is done in a very civilized way.

When the bride and groom has no more space to dance in the family members "jumps" the groom and take his stockings and cuts holes in them and takes the veil from the bride and cuts it to pieces and then hands the pieces out to unwed female members of the party.

  • A Princesa é FABULOSAMENTE BELA com AQUELA, ELEGANTE e CHARMOSA RAINHA......sem comentários. ALL IS VERY........NICE. DIFFERENT.

  • That was very nice, a bit different to our aussie weddings

É a Dinamarca!!! Tudo uma perfeição e BELEZA.

  • Brudevalsen ahhhh great song very happy music

  • it looks very like love

  • shes soooo uptight!!!

  • So beautiful. Like a fairy tale.

  • In a world where vulgarity rules, long live Royal families which remind us of the value of tradition and manners, who have been patrons of arts and science...and who are symbols of ancient nations that despite their political regimes will always have a strong reference in the Kings and Queens....

  • People--seemingly very nice people--in slightly absurd costumes.

  • Comment removed

  • I love weddings they make me cry whenever I go to one of my cousin's wedding. I like the wedding of Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary they dance good.

  • How very lovely!

  • very sweet! :) Go! Princess Mary! You're the best!

  • @snitchwish Yes, very Well.

  • That was really cute. ^_^

  • who cares?

  • That's maybe because we don't care about those two shitty sports.

  • Hi all,

Is there anywhere I can get this music in a mp3 format? Thanks.

  • my favourite video

    i wish one day dance

    waltz with my prince charming

    as philippe jaroussky

    i love this wedding

    post more videos

    about this wedding

  • It is just a common tradition to danish weddings that we move forward against the couple. Besides when the walz is finsihed the men will hold and then cut of the bridegrooms´socks. it is funny :)

  • Thankyou for posting this - it's the part I never saw on TV!!

  • Abitweird:

It is a tradition in Denmark.

  • What is the meaning of this tradition ? Could you explain it to me ? Kind regards.

  • Danes do it to make the bride and groom kiss each other. Isn't that lovely?

  • It IS lovely, for sure ! Thanks for the answer : now that i understand the meaning of this tradition, i really like it.

  • HAHAHA :P oh my god :P why did they move forward against them?

  • It's a tradition. The bride and groom dance to this song while the guests gather around them and move closer and closer untill there's hardly any more room. And then the newly weds kiss.

  • @katrineGIRL Thank you for explaining that! Very sweet tradition.

  • I hate my boring life! Why didn't he chose me?

  • check out the video below this one on the page IT IS HEAPS BETTER

  • They are FAB:)

  • Oh...it would be beautiful if Princess Diana could be happy like this...Frederik and Mary is the most happy royal couple. Hope they'll stay together 4ever with their Christian and Isabella...

  • I agree 100%... I feel so sorry for Diana, she deserved way better than how Charles treated her. May that beautiful angel rest in peace. And may Frederik and Mary have a lifelong marriage filled with love, joy, and happiness with each other and with their children!

  • @Supernaturallovely And another couple of twins on the pipe. ;)

  • The Queen looked lovely also.

  • This video made me cry.. They seem so much in love, it`s beautiful

  • I crid too. They are a lovely couple.

  • Their performance isn't technically perfect but it was done with so much love that you can't help but smile.

  • lovely, lovely, lovely!

brought a tear to my eye.

  • Cute! Like a fairy tale!

  • what a cute little performance

  • So sweet!

  • Calm down.

You are making yourself look like a complete psycho.

  • this is soo sweet, I'm crying just watching it... but then I'm always overemotional about any princes, or weddings, or dancing, and gee whiz... combining them is fatal!

  • cmo se llama la cancion ???as the song is called somebody knows it?

  • Its the wedding waltz. Its from an old danish play. The waltz and the way it is performed is an old tradition in Denmark. Every little girl dreams about this. And every old married woman remember her own wedding waltz. we love it here.

  • @jesperthorhauge It was very romantic...I love the way he was guiding her here as I guess he would have been more familiar with the waltz than she. He was so loving to her, helping her with the steps...this is a beautiful tradition!

  • @jesperthorhauge Just like in fairy tales!

  • she is beutiful and i think she is a great princess

  • Princess Mary has just given birth to a little Princess(17:16 Danish time)(21-04-1988)...Congratulations Mary!

  • 2007 :-)

  • I agree !! they're so cute !

  • I'm sorry but try to look at them, that's love there are dancing. That's is way more than your stupid comment. And her dress is naturalt like herself, she's just become the best dressing person in the entire world.

  • they look like if they were in their 1st lesson of waltz dance...lol

  • That is themself there are dancing for, not you! Love is more than dance, in denmark is it.

  • Not that I don't like her but Princess Diana is still the only real princess for me.

  • Diana was actually Princess Charles , thats how it is in England.

  • She has just won the first price in best dressed lady in the world.

  • Her dress is beautiful- it must be hard to have NO taste !!
