  • you need to put some oil in your shocks.....

  • what tires is he runnig.on mine you can floor it into a hairpin and drift.

  • I have a Vintage rc 10 chassis from 1985 and one operational rc 10 truck from 1995 I am glad too see I am not the only one . long live the r c 10

  • if anyone is interested there is a cool new message forum for "old school" RC cars. see you on there!!

valkyriercmotorsportsDOTcom ---> then click on "jump to forum"...

  • i made an amazing find!!!! i bought a rc truck off a guy for 20 bucks (no electronics) just had a speed controler and it was a vintage rc10 i was shocked i saw one on ebay for over 400 bucks!!!1

  • i love the sound of the hard rubber hollow tires and the transmission when it lands

  • Awesome Video. Wish I still had mine. It was my first RC when I was like 10.

  • i had my original rc10 drift tonight lol

  • Beautiful car...I had an rc10t back when I was like 13...I'm now 32 and just hearing ur rc10 run makes me smile....nice video.

  • Don't just miss the old, more real looking bodies? Everything looks like space ships now. I would hope for a return of more "scalistic" buggy shells with the SCTs making the rounds now.

  • My first RC10 was the graphite chassis, in '89 IIRC. Used mainly on asphalt with foam tyres. For a 2nd off-road special I bought a tub (in gorgeous electric blue), added the Stealth gearbox, uprated shocks, Novak ESC, designed a custom polycarbonate bodyshell and a bespoke huge rear wing for more stable jumping characteristics.

Many, many wins with that car and I loved it!

  • i just got one off of ebay it is so durable even the differental can compete with todays cars

  • WOW, many people still have one of these. This car handled like a dream. You didn't get the bouncing like with Hornets and stuff.

I have bring mine back to life.

  • To compare an RC10 is a bit like chalk and cheese tho', isn't it? The Hornet was a cheap and cheerful starter from Tamiya; there was only so much you could do with it due to the trailing axle suspension.

The RC10 was a proper racing model from the start and you could customise just about anything you wanted from it.

    Happy memories!

  • Yeah, but most of the Hornet owners tended to be Ritalin chewing brats from divorced families, and talked more shit than they could back up. So, I enjoy ragging on them still. LOL

  • @Polarcupcheck lmao

  • @judgegixxer I forgot I wrote that. True for the most part. One kid was a Ritalin junkie, another was from a divorced family, and both were brats who talked too much smack. So, I rolled them all into one jerk. Another kid I knew was a real brat, but he was nice, so I left him out. That car did bounce like a super ball, though. RC-10 was glue.

  • @Polarcupcheck Back in 87' a guy in his 40's had one of those RC10s, it was all tricked out and I wanted one so bad. I remember him kickin ass over all the other kids with thier Hornets, Frogsand Turbohoppers lol. It was about that time I got my 1st RC which was a used Galaxy RS. I still have it's blue plastic cage.

  • @judgegixxer My first was a Turbohopper, and my friend with a Hornet had to let me know how great his car was, and some other jerk said similar stuff. Finally, when I was like 9 years old, my grandmother purchased an RC-10 for me around 86-87' for me. None of those kids wanted to race for money anymore. It has huge sentimental value, because my grandmother died of cancer 3 years later, and it was one of her last gifts to me. I cannot get rid of it.

  • That electric motor sound brings back good memories.

  • what motor does that have? 5/5

  • i have that same rc car

    man i love it

  • what motor did urs have?

  • I have a mint RC-10 that I built back in 1988. It still runs fine. When I built it, I replaced the wiper with and electronic speed controler. I even have the RC-10 VHS video that showed the factory and how they made em!

  • hey he got stuck back the they had reverse

  • I wish i still had my old RC cars......i still have an old RC10 DS tub chassis from maybe the mid 90's.....OH the days of mechanical speed controls and 25MPH being FAST

  • Excellent buggy! Just neds a wing to look complete, and maybe jump slightly better. ;-) That's quick too!

My gold chassis one is on the table in front of me right now, getting ready to race!

    Thanks for sharing. 5/5

  • I've got a RC 10 just like that. I haven't use it in over 10 years. I might have to do dig it out tomorrow now.

  • Nice driving. I just got my "Antique" RC10 out a couple of weeks ago and am in the middle of getting a new servo saver for it. the old plastic was brittle and it snapped. It's cool to see these old cars still running... and still fast too.

  • cool track! if you put a wing on it won't nosedive so much. i just picked one of these up on ebay the black pan team car. Always wanted one back in the day.

  • Can you still get parts for it?

  • Nice video, I have an 84' goldpan, and still play with it from time to time :)

  • its awesome to see how far associated has come in the last 18 years!

  • nice car what motor did u use in it and what batetry?

  • i have 2 rc 10s, a 90s graphite and an ancient aluminum (copperish brass color, same tranny on both, same suspension, only real difference besides tubs is rear drive train, the rods from the diff to the wheels is a little different. What kind of engine you got in there? that is not stock i can tell you that, or at least the battery is really good

  • i didnt wanna run out of room(typing) i rather not include the box OH yeah, i have a protech ACDC peak charger, i'll give you the car(needs nose braces) with 2 bodies, 2or3 Robinson spurs and afew pin gears, the charger, 2 batt packs, 2 speed controls one futaba for/rev one tekin for only and some tires for 180

  • I bought rc 10T Stealth tranny and would Stealth fit in a rc10 gold?

    Thank you...

  • @stormz7675454 if it is stamped in the back as B or C yest it will, or you can drill your own holes if it is an A chassis

  • hey thank you...

  • nice car what kind of motor did u put in it.

  • these are good cars I have three two gold and one graphite

  • I bought my rc 10 way back in 1987 and still have it....

  • you want a nother one? cause i need the money i gave for it

  • how much for rc10?

  • i gave $200 for it but it had a tool box and a ton of outdated/failing parts in it: four red sanyo 1400mah batt. packs two 3x2 and two 6x1(I'll include two of your choice and extra tires) is there anything particular you want?

  • cool dude.

  • i rather sell it to some one who will run it and appreciate it, you know? i can't impress anyone with my skills with this, its too distracting

it has the wide susp. $175 are you not interested?

  • Dude you rock...

  • yo i got the rc10 1984. looks pritty sick too. do u think its possible to change it into a gas powered car

  • Err... Isn't this the RC10 Graphite???

    "I'm pretty sure"

(Nobody would post a fake, and the real owner of this video was "davidmandl" correct?)

  • lol, i got the original rc 10 with the gold chassis. Its so awsome! Nice Video!

  • I've got an old Championship Edition w/ the gold chassis that was my first real R/C. The thing is a tank, really hard to break the thing.

  • Yea, im having some problems with the suspension right now, but i dont plan on driving it much in the future.

Are they worth anything now? Its an antique isnt it?

  • Is it a setup issue?

  • It seems like there is a grinding from the shaft about halfway through the stroke, and the springs are so hard that i cant even drive it in the alley. Other than that im just missing a few e-clips and everything would be perfect.

  • Throw some green springs on it. And some 30 wt. oil and no. 2 pistons. That should be a good start.

  • If i were to swap out the pistions, i would try to find some more of those rpm 2 stage pistons, they work so well.

  • Nice video,i alsow got a rc10 vintage!

we bild our tracke in the woods os the heague (the netherland)HOLLAND.

i hope to put our video aswell on the net.

good luke driving and having FUN!!!!!!!!!!

    Dylan

  • im pretty sure if that is the grafite its the TQ10 not the rc10 just FYI

  • Associated released the RC10 Graphite around '89...the TQ10 was available ONLY through Horizon Hobbbies. The two are NOT the same car.

  • i was not aware of a graphite production kit from ASSOCIATED other than the TQ 10 back then. the TQ 10 was released by assc. but it was more like the summer of 98 lol. A&L did make a conversion to graphite but i think that was more for making it a stadium truck. Horizon may have had the sole distribution for assc. at that time.

  • I've got a 1986 RC10 and a 1989 RC10 Graphite that can handle just about anything you can throw at them. In fact, the newer cars seem to break parts more often than those "old-school" cars.

Anyway, these old cars can handle any track that the modern B4s are running on. Just because it's older doesn't mean it's junk. This was the car that added handling and tunability to off-road racing.

    ...now, anyone remember the Scorpion?

  • I just got my old RC10 from the late 80's running again too - it's great fun. Nice track!

  • cheers, im a new owner of a super champ. so id like to know my limitations as i have more motors and electrics than cleopatra had slaves. dont want to hurt my old car as id probaby not get the spare part again without having to buy another complete car.

  • Cool video. Too bad the expert had to put in his 2 cents LOL. I guess he forgot the days when he was learning to drive.

Hey guys ... I am an owner of 8 of these vintage RC10 buggies .. I love em !!!! Go to rcuniverse. com and all your RC questions will be answered. On RCU my name is metaldog. PM me for help or check out the vintage old school thread. Just about everyone at RCU are willing to help out ... so check it out.

  • thats great. it not a stock motor is it? what motor can be put in these without ruining the transmission and stock esc?

  • Hey thanks, obviously you know more about these vintage cars then the person who made the fist post!! That's an old car on that track and those are some good size jumps for a car that is now 17 years old!! I've forwarded you message to my buddy to anwser your questions.

  • I've run a 15-turn motor in my original six-gear RC10 transmission for years. It will handle anything down to an 11-turn for sure; too much lower and you might be pushing it.

  • man you are destroying that thing, learn the secrets of physics and inertia before trying to jump... more throttle=forward spin, less throttle= more straight

if combined in a pump throttle-stop-repeat motion with timing adjusted to fit the jump, perfect jumps can be pulled off

  • Hey, Chief, he isn't hurting a thing. He probably doesn't need the physics lecture as much as he needs to tune the car for the track either.
