Resisting Detainment?!? Police Officering FAIL!

Nice work by the officer. He had obviously "retreived" enough evidence, likely through dispatch, to feel justified in the detention. If the officer had been told that somebody had planted a bomb in this guys car I somehow doubt he would be putting up such a fuss about getting out! I can just hear it now..."Have you seen this bomb?...Why are you asking me to get out of this car unless you have seen the bomb?..."I don't think there is a bomb in my car and I want to go home!"

In this case the officer would have a valid reason for the detension. An accusation of "threats" would be seen as credible and worthy of investigation. What did the police officer say when he released you? Did he find merit to the accusation of threat or not before releasing you? I sounded like he said this was a violation of the code, and he was still releasing you.

Once the police officer says you are being detained, that's it. The arrest is made. That means the police officer is now responsible for your safety. Any verbal resistance to "you are being detained" will be countered by intimidation and physical force. Ok I'm being detained. You now have to follow any reasonable direction to move. If you have prepared your fee schedule, you should present that. Unjustified arrest; 500$ per hour.

@TFPCVideoBlog Remember before the Charter from Trudeau they could not detain without evidence. Before detaining me in any way they must have retrieved the threatening evidence, which I pointed out. Derek (the officer) proceeded to receive this information as I was in the back seat not before. I informed him from the outset that there was no threat. My denial of evidence should be as powerful as the accusation thereof. Clearly they should have read the notice I left before doing this. Looks bad.

well learn from this you should always respond with 'respectfully - no comment' all words will be used against you. explaining anything only gives rope to your enemies to hang you with. cops careers are made from tickets, arrests & convictions.
