To this day some unsophisticated people insit Garbo, Hudson and even Liberace were straight. Donahue was smart enough to use his looks to get on flamboyant agent's Henry Willson's casting couch. He wouldn't have gotten parts based on other talent. Deal with the truth. He was beautiful and Gay.

A lot of gossip has circled around Henry Wilson and his "boys", but even in Tab Hunters autobiography he says that people would confuse the two of them and wrongly believe that Troy was gay. Tab was very open about all his relationships and the behind closed door happenings in Hollywood at the time, so I don't doubt his words.
So pick up an actual book guys from time to time and not just "well documented" gossip columns.

He has a sweetness of beauty that just tugs at the heart and remains undiminished by the passage of time and cultural fads
