Does anyone know what album this piece of music is on? I have listened through some Rainbow games and haven't been able to find it. It was also used on a UK police show which I saw once - exactly the same piece.
I just cant understand why they didnt keep the gameplay like this and the older versions combined whith todays graphic...more realistic and tactical game than this i have never played, today its just fastproduced shit!! and the soundtrack too this game is like from any movie, Tom Clancy`s Rainbow Six was first whith this kind of music too a game, yes even Metal Gear Solid and im mean the last one! I love that genre too though...sorry but now i must play Raven Shield...Cheers!!
I remember this trailer being advertised on the Xbox version of Ghost Recon. Still can't find that music they play starting at 0:50. I know I have heard it somewhere else before.
@zak0503 Yeah, this is the most misleading trailer Ive seen to date for a console game. The ability to plan out your mission was nowhere to be seen, instead they gave the consoles the typical linear gameplay all so they could tell a clichéd Hollywood like story, which turned out to be absolute crap anyway.
@ThePR0FESSI0NAL Rainbow Six 3 IS Raven Shield, Google it. In the Xbox version this trailer was shown as a representation of gameplay for the console versions. Turns out Ubisoft gave console gamers the big finger and dumbed it down considerably.
Lol, did you guys honestly think they would do a direct PC port to the consoles without simplifying it while controlling 8 team members, including planning missions, all those weapons and customization? It would have been a complete utter disaster. Not saying Rainbow Six 3 wasn't either already but you had to expect the game to be dumbified to an extent for it to be able to at least on the xbox. The game was still a hit on the consoles so Ubisoft made their money regardless.
@ThePR0FESSI0NAL Actually yes we console gamers were expecting it to play almost exactly like the PC version, with the planning missions, customization etc intact, since the PS1 version of Rogue Spear pretty much had all of that as well, which proves that it is possible to do on a console, because it’s been done already with Rogue Spear, in case you’ve forgotten, so there is no excuse for such bastardization of the console version at all, unless you want to count laziness on the part of Ubisoft.
I am not quite sure how console gamers were expecting this when Rainbow Six 3 came out. It was an extremely popular game. Console gamers represent more of the casual community. Many people hate doing the trial and error scenario with the game (which is why I love the old R6 games). The mass gaming community just want to jump in and play which is why Rainbow Six 3 came out and Rainbow Six Vegas.
Never played Rogue Spear on the playstation. I've always been with the PC versions of Rainbow Six. The only console version of Rainbow Six I've played (Besides Vegas) was the first Rainbow Six on the playstation. One of the worst games I had ever played especially for a port. It was an absolutely different game which left a very bad taste in my mouth so Rogue Spear didn't even get a chance. But I'm still a PC fan when it comes to R6.
R6:3 (console version), lockdown and Vegas pretty much marked the end of the R6 franchise. Tactical shooters are almost extinct because they are generally hard to play and require more time (sadly). The games which come out today are just not the same 8-10 years ago when they actually require some knowledge. Everything nowadays are run 'n gun shooters that require no brains. It's sad to see what gaming has come to.
I honestly can't tell you if I agree or disagree about Rogue Spear on the PS1. But from the pics, it certainly looks closer to the PC version but not completely. You can easily tell Ubisoft (or Redstorm) had to redo a lot of the stuff, including the ugly looking interface imo.
I've been playing the older R6 games (including Raven Shield) for a long time and don't see any reason for the company to design the game exactly for the consoles since they generally represent a less-hardcore gaming community imo. Many, not all but many console gamers just want to throw the game in and just play. Not plan and develop missions which is a requirement for the older R6 games.
i find it sad how most games nowadays are more about fun, so that console players will enjoy them, rather than caring about gameplay and realism. im starting to think the pc gaming scene is definately startin to go unnoticed.
omg I'm a cry :'( what happen to epic games like this!!

Yeah, a new Rainbow Six like the old games would be really great. Not gonna happen though unfortunately.
I still play Rogue Spear as well, next to Raven Shield.
