The song that's actually being played is "Grasshopper Rock" from the Starday label, still by Link Davis of course...but much more hopped-up than the original "Grasshopper".

Some of the earliest white rock and roll came out of Louisiana with local musicians and singers readier than most to give R'n'B a go. Bobby Charles and Warren Storm are good examples. Good post, Hepkat.
