I've got this on my 1001HA but the ASUS Windows 7 VGA driver for EEE PC is useless - it doesn't change the screen resolution or the aspect ratio. The recommended solution is to install the XP driver (use Visat compatibility mode) but then Aero effects are disabled. I see you have Aero enabled - can you switch to 1024x768 like on XP (with a vertically scrolling screen)?

just make sure u type the correct drive lable, mine is disk 3, so urs should be....u do the math

guys installing win7 or vista from a USB is very easy, let me show u how,

from any vista pc, type the following in CMD

diskpart [enter]

list disk [enter]

create part pri [enter]

sel part 1 [enter]format fs=fat32 quick [enter]

assign [enter]

thats it, the USB is now bootable, now all u have to do is copy win7 instalation files from the ISO image to ur USB and thats also very easy.

just right click the ISO image and with WinRAR, select "Extract to Archive". distination should be ur USB.

Yes it was nice but also very slow. I don't recommend to install this windows to Eee 901 because of the SSD disks. I heard that there is another win7 which is smaller and it was made for netbooks, so it should be better idea...+ external VGA didn't work, and this is important for me...

I installed this win7 on to the first ssd; completely maxed it out. I also had to move a lot of folders to the D: drive. What a pain.

I hear MS is making a netbook version of Win7 though.

ten windows nie je to, co skutocne chces na eeecko. Videla si ako sa na tom otrasne surfovalo, mozilla tam isla velmi pomaly. Ako som pisal nizsie, radsej si tam daj Xp professional ako mam ja s nejakym skraslovacim vzhladom...Nanajvys ani eeectl mi tam neslo spravne a ine veci (soft na taktovanie cpu a regulaciu otacok ventilatora)

Benchmarks consistently report that winamp is the fastest among all the full-featured media players.

On the other hand, I've been using Mediamonkey for a while and I haven't had any speed issues with it, I highly recommend it.

did wlan, bluetooth, display, sound, webcam, and those buttons at the top work right away, or did you have to use other drivers, and if you did have to use other drivers, where did you get them?

wlan, bluetooth, sound, webcam, super hybrid engine, asus instant key worked fine

external vga didn't work (with or without drivers) and eeectl too.

I found drivers at forum.*eee*user*.com (delete * from the link)

How much hard disk is left after installation on the 8GB SSD? Is it worth it? And how much did you get rid of from nlite?

It left about 2 GB left on second SSD after instalation. Size of instalation after using vLite was about 1.2 GB (original is 2.43 GB)

There is a lot of tutorials on the internet, how to install OS to Eee using USB Key. I didn't find way, how to make it work with W7, but I know, how to instal Windows XP using USB key, and then I installed Win. Seven from XP.

BUT NOW AFTER SOME TIME USING W7 I MUST SAY THAT WINDOWS 7 IS STILL SLOWER THAN XP! BETTER WAY IS TO USE XP AND MODIFY IT TO VISTA LOOK-LIKE DESIGN. I will make another video with my modified XP that I use now.

You know that I owned a Asus Eee 901, and the second SSD is pretty slow... I can't image that you installed Win7 on it. But how much storage does it take? Maybe im going to delete Xp on my main SSD if it less than 4gb? =)

Normally it takes about 6 - 7 GB of storage.

If you want you can try to use vLite and delete some useless programs and languages to make it smaller...I vLited my W7, and my installation size was only 1.2 GB, but installed it takes about 5 GB on my second SSD.

Very slow?...I don't, think. Maybe slower in defference about 3 MBps. Win 7 runs on my eee (second SSD) as fast as previous XP (first SSD), but the boot time is twice or more longer...

How long does it take to install Win 7? It took about an hour, but I didn't find the way how to boot it and install, so I installed Windows 7 from previous XP and then deleted XP from Win 7 :)
