I was a guide on the Omo in 1982 with Sobek. Two trips, one was 25 days the other 40....Just an FYI.....many more people have been down it than 2 or 3! Sobek used to do trips regularly (they did the first exploratory) for several years. Truly a magical river. One suggestion if you ever do another video of a trip, show less of the expats talking (really boring and waste of footage) and more of the trip.

I work with Galeb nomads in Omo Rate clinic near Lake Turkana in 1981/2 and never thought of exploring such beautiful parts of Omo river in Northern side of where I worked. Thanks for posting and inspiring the rest of us to make a trip in near future. Now, government built a huge bridge over Omo river to connect with Kenya and the area is getting more and more accessible for tourists and local people. There are lodges and electricity in Omo rate where the bridge was built.
Wow, I'm impressed...I traveled on the two lakes on the other side if Omo river -- lake chamo and abaya. your raft is huge, almost like a boat. I'm glad you enjoied it.
