  • I care about the environment, that is why I only buy genetically altered food.

  • @shinokiba "With a few exceptions, studies point to environmental advantages for organic farming practices with respect to a) maintaining or building soil quality, b) lessening ground and surface water contamination, c) reducing greenhouse gas emissions, d) encouraging biodiversity, e) conserving water and energy resources, and, f) recycling waste." nal.usda.gov/afsic/pubs/faq/BuyOrganicFoodsD.shtml

  • @shinokiba "Organic farming leads to many improvements to the natural environment""increased water retention in soils, improvements in the water table""reduced soil erosion""better carbon sequestration, and increased agro-biodiversity.""soils are healthier""sustain plant growth better and have a higher nutrient content.""this enables farmers to grow crops for longer periods, with higher yields and in marginal conditions." unctad.org/en/docs/ditcted200715_en.pdf

  • @shinokiba "Our results show that transgenic crops expressing Cry1Ab protein at 5000 ppb may affect food consumption or learning processes and thereby may impact honey bee foraging efficiency." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18206234

"Plant residues of transgenic plants, plowed under at harvest and kept mixed with soil for up to 4 months, affected soil respiration, bacterial communities, and mycorrhizal establishment by indigenous endophytes." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/ PMC1287690/

  • @shinokiba "during a 7-day oral exposure to the various treatments (transgenic, imidacloprid-treated and control), honey bee feeding behaviour was disturbed and bees consumed significantly less CCRI41 cotton pollen than in the control group in which bees were exposed to conventional cotton pollen. It may indicate an antifeedant effect of CCRI41 pollen on honey bees and thus bees may be at risk because of large areas are planted with transgenic Bt cotton" ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20700762

  • @shinokiba "corn byproducts, such as pollen and detritus, enter headwater streams and are subject to storage, consumption, and transport to downstream water bodies. Laboratory feeding trials showed that consumption of Bt corn byproducts reduced growth and increased mortality of nontarget stream insects. Stream insects are important prey for aquatic and riparian predators, and widespread planting of Bt crops has unexpected ecosystem-scale consequences." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17923672

  • @217Parsons @zzzldividedbyzerozz Farm Systems Trial at Rodale Institute. Comparison of soil characteristics during the 15 year period found that soil fertility was enhanced in the organic systems while it decreased considerably in the conventional system. "Our trial shows that improving the quality of the soil through organic practices can mean the difference between a harvest or hardship in times of drought" Jeff Moyer farm manager at Rodale Institute.

  • Farming systems Trial at Rodale Institute. In 1999 during one of the worst droughts on record, yields of organic soybeans were 30 bushels/acre compared to only 16 bushels/acre from conventionally grown soybeans(Rodale institute 1999)

  • @217Parsons @zzzldividedbyzerozz Farming Systems Trial at Rodale Institute. Compares soybean and maize production under a conventional and two organic management farming systems. Corn yields are comparable in all 3 cropping systems(less than 1% difference)(Drinkwater,1998)

  • @217Parsons @zzzldividedbyzerozz Sustainable Agriculture Farming Systems project at UC Davis. Results from the first 8 years of the project show that organic and low-input systems had yields comparable to conventional systems in all crops tested-tomato,safflower,corn and bean, and in some instances yielding higher than conventional systems(Clark 1999a)

  • Organic is the way to go...but what do you do about your water source? If it is piped in from the city, you're in trouble!

  • @gertrudesbiz There are several water purifiers out there to remove the stuff the city cannot or will not spend to remove. Rainsoft, HomeDepot, Lowes, Hague, Britta, etc. all have possible solutions. Rainsoft is used by quite a few. I would encourage you to try one out and test for yourself. There are whole house and single term usage filters. Good luck.

  • Organic farming is a false hope, and is the least sustainable agricultural practice. this is another prime example of liberal hippies contradicting themselves. "Saving the planet" is killed by organic farming because weeds are controlled mechanically=far greater erosion and less weed control=more stress on the plant=lower yields=more starving people. In order to combat this yield lag, more fertilizer would have to be put on the soil in the form of feces=buildup of heavy metals=dead land=NO CROPS

  • Organics suck.... they waste more land, feed less people, use more toxic pesticides, and have a higher chance of carrying E.Coli, with no additional nutritional benefits. Don't believe it? I suggest instead of watching biased Youtube Videos, actually read some statistics and data from confirmed scientific sources. (P.S. Greenpeace is biased)

  • organic is saving the enviroment? lmfao!

  • i prefer to eat insects rich in protein and nutrients rather than synthetically created chemicals that are carcinogenic and weaken my immune system, hahaha, go organic.

  • @canascot02

True that!!! Insects have b-12. lol. true.

  • max this aint a page for infants, go look at something more suitable for ur level of intellect like skateboarding accidents.

  • ORGANIC food is no better for you than conventionally produced food, say the authors of a British study. It concluded "theres no good evidence that consumption of organic food is beneficial to health based on the nutrient content."

  • Its already been proven elsewhere however that pestisides and hormones build up in the water and body...

Thats why girls get breasts at 9 now, when they didnt 50 years ago, fuck that UK study

  • Id also like to add that people who eat organic tend to not die of cancers and certain brain diseases.

  • this video is for all you gullible, scientifically illiterate, soft headed imbeciles out there who think so called "organic" farming is somehow "better" for the earth and for consumers. Because "organic" farming is so unproductive, if all our food were "organic" we'd have to turn hundreds of millions of acres of wild land into farmland. Of course "organic" is a religion for these people, it has nothing to do with science or the truth.

  • we have some neibors who are "organic" farmers they farm somewhere around 5000 acres. they get paid twice the $ that we normal farmers get paid. their feilds are very productive and have barely and weeds. the way they produce such great "organic" crops is that they take their sprayers out at 11 oclock pm and spray pesticides on their "organic" crops.

  • There is no such thing as a natural red apple...

Organic apples are orange, yellow with a little red. Red apples in the markets are pumped with chemicals, and pesticides to make it look completely red and give it a shiny look also.

Pesticides kill bees and right now that's the worst thing to do!

search up "bees endangered" you will find something important that you must know

  • you are scientifically illiterate

  • Organic farming is so much more expensive because you need more space...more equipment. Organic farming requires much more catering to, since there is no chemicals or technological aid helping you. You're pretty much going back in time a hundred years.....when they DIDN'T have the technology to mass produce food.

  • Pesticides are poisons that kill insects, the pesticides also sink into the roots of the plant and the plant drinks it, this means that you are eating poison as well... This most likely won't kill you but there is no way it's good for you

We can grow organic foods vertically which will mean less space, I studied this because I want to grow my own organic foods

It's not as hard as people make it sound, you can use technology and still have organic food, just keep away from the pesticides...

  • Bugs give you XTRA PROTEINS.. What does NOT kill makes you stronger..

  • lol, man you're crazy!

I do agree with you though. I have a question:

Why does Organiz food cost more, seeing as how they don't use radiation or chemicals to kill insects, hence actually SAVING money? It makes no sense to me...

  • Because it's much more labor intensive. It takes more people to do the work and more time to grow, pick, etc. beacause there are no chemicals used to "stunt" the growth of their harvests. So basically, it takes more people which equals more money to farm organically.

  • My grandmother used to put lettuce in salt water, so all the bugs and snails would float to the top.

  • @tigerone1970 how cute

  • @hwns

She fed 10 children and a husband (and at varying times 3 children in hiding) during the war. They made coffee out of cichory and thickened soups with flower. There are a lot of lessons there.

  • Um, why the hell cant they wash the salad? That's ridiculous. It doesn't 'ruin the texture' at all, its a freaking salad, not a delicate soufflé.

I should be 'grateful' for having worms in my salad? Hell no. That just shows laziness on the part of the kitchen staff.

  • They said they can't wash it hard. Its lettuce, you can't exactly scrub it. They just rinse it.

Whens the last time you scrubbed your salad?

  • Well, here's what I don't understand. When I worked in food service, we'd dump our bags of lettuce in a big sink full of water, agitate it a little, then put it in a big, metal, commercial-sized salad spinner. The lettuce was undamaged but it got rid of anything that might have snuck in with the lettuce.

I don't understand why they cannot at least do that. They simply pull the lettuce, unwashed, from the bag it came in.

  • Lol look at 1:25 its santa clause in the background and a gang of nigga prostitutes lol

  • im very lucky to have my grandparents livin in the country side, growing own veg and fruit! n i know what u mean about them eggs ! tomatoes r so red they taste so sweet and juicy, pears, i can smell them from 10 meters!

  • Excellent! I subbed too.

  • I wish everyone would start a home organic garden.. I'm going to subscribe to this.

  • Sustainable & local is better. Having eggs from a neighbor farmer, the difference is clear - the yolks are orange (not faded yellow), and the whites are firm, not like a watery film. They taste delicious!! And healthy vegetables raised on trace mineral complete & balanced soils have greater levels of active vitamins - the essential things we need to stay healthy!
