  • ahhhhh.... being 15 with so much talent, so much hard work already behind and so many years ahead of you.... :-)

  • wa amazing...realy want learn this piece...but..imposibble to play on 5-octave keyboard :<

  • Love you George! Very well played! Keep it up!

  • He is a true musician. I can see it from his smile :)

  • ive been trying to buy one of these online and cant find one :/

  • maetsroso!!!

  • amazing musician.....

  • I'm 15 (almost 16) and I have started this piece. HOWEVER I cannot hope to perform it at such a high level of performance without several more hour of practice a day; I'll play it as an etude until I am capable of performing the whole piece relatively well.

  • He played it like a professional... very few mistakes, in perfect time, and also with really good expression.

  • Awesome, George ! Real an adventurer's heartbreaking piece, you describe it very well through this !

  • This would be way to hard for him, in an earlier video.

  • Play piano.

  • @dccheung678 i will

  • That was a superb performance that match the famous performers. Those critics are just envious cuz they can't p

  • OMG! Le fou.

  • Better than in the previous video, you're almost at the height of Lisista.

  • ancora qualche prblema d ritmica qualche sbaglio ma ottima

  • I like the last part the most ! :) GREAT JOB!

  • This is really very far from perfect (for perfect look for Cziffra or Kissin). And when I say this, I'm not talking about his technique as much as I'm talking about the sentiment. He doesn't seem to understand what he's supposed to convey. He is very talented, though, no doubt, and technically extremely sound, but as we all know, there's more to music than good fingers.

  • @MrElicottero

I agree, Kissin's vision is a lot of better.

but he is still young, let's see what George will be later on.

  • @MrElicottero Okay then, what IS he supposed to "convey?" do you even KNOW what feeling you're SUPPOSED to 'feel?' tell me then so I can feel it that way. I know how you feel buddy. little fat ugly typical chinese kid(...was that too far?) playing the master piece and thinks he's cool because he played unnecessarily too fast? And look he's even trying to copy what pianists do. look at him, with all the awkward motions. all that kid can do is play the piece super fast. right? no buddy.(cnt.)

  • @MrElicottero no it's not. I can explain not just how you feel but also why you feel that way. and why that's "wrong," if that's the right word. what you don't know is that art is very ambiguous and cannot be judged. i personally think a lot of art critics are hypocrites. because they don't express their honest expressions towards a certain piece. look I'm not going to lecture all the ignorants on youtube including you. or share my "philosophy" with you. just think twice before you say anything

  • @ReminiscenceS2 You most certainly cannot explain why I feel what I feel because you don't know me.

Art is very ambiguous but that doesn't mean just anything is allowed. A friend of mine (he's a writer) always says: "only bad writers hate critics."

This guy is very young and he has time to learn. This is as good as he can do at the moment. In a few years, he might get better, because maybe then he will have the technique and the emotional capacity to understand what he's playing. We'll see.

  • And please stop writing in this holier-than-thou tone, it's really getting on my nerves. You don't have to agree with me, but you have no right to call me ignorant. I am entitled not to like this performance, and I have explained why to the extent I thought was enough. If you feel that anything is allowed in music, that is really only your opinion, not some indisputable truth never to be reckoned with. E adesso - punto, basta.

  • @MrElicottero your statements are contradicted... you dont want to be called ignortant but you call someone's art, which can't be said perfect or imperfect by the way, imperfect and say its just good fingers. are 'you' entitled to say that?

  • You did it again for me, George! I can't wait to hear you this month in Miami Beach!

  • Thrilling! Amazing precision and completely seamless.

  • very nice interpretation!I love so much this song!I wanted to play it but I am too young to play it(12 years)....anyway...Congratulations and best wishes for you and your music!greetings from Romania

    Andreea

  • Great kid! Well performed Campanella...

    Good luck!

  • I hope I will be able to play this piece one day!

  • Young George Li is possibly the best and most exciting pianist in the world. His technical skills are breathtaking to say the least. His musicianship is impeccable. His sense of commitment knows no "ifs". He has style and soul and seemingly boundless energy. I can't wait to check my subscription box to catch any new uploads of his.

  • I'm a Violinist and for those of you with a 'technical opinion' who criticise or dislike this video need to Fully Appreciate how Difficult this piece is to play the melody with the right hand not to mention Incorparting the left...

This is Beautiful, One of the best I've heard on Youtube

  • It's so beautiful.

  • why i can not play this way why so beautiful god bless you play great

  • wow. his is my favorite song. you play amazing

    greetings from austria

  • I used to perform this piece on the violin back in the days when I was just a violinist. It was one of my favorite pieces and the most frequently requested. I love watching your right hand...the adjective which best describes is "scintillating".

  • For me, 4th and 5th is REALLY more harder than 3rd and 4th. I just can`t trill with 4th and 5th

  • George, you are getting better by the day!

  • This is a piece I can only dream of playing. But a person who is younger than me to play it perfectly. This piece is indeed a test of skill and heart.

  • @xxgwyloxx LOL I didn't make sense --" bwahaha I'm really good at trilling with my second and third finger, but I really suck trilling with me 4th and 5th T__T and to get those repeated notes perfect! GRAAH I wish I could have your talent

  • @xxgwyloxx I would say trilling with 3rd and 4th is a lot harder than 4 and 5! At least, for me.....

  • @ragtimesamtime I'm horibble with 4th and 5th. okay at 3rd and 4th but I prefer 2nd and 3rd.

  • Who was the one person WHO DISLIKED THIS.

    I call for an inquest.

  • @Runnerduck16 He was a guy, his head was chopped off, and had no brain, no eyes. So he wondered off in this video, and clicked a random button, and it was (Dislike). And another person disliked it noooooooooooo...

  • Благодарю за филигранное мастерство и благородный вкус!!!

  • A brilliant performance. Great technique. Powerful playing with many different dynamics. Absolutely wonderful George. You are an inspiration for everyone.

  • You are a great virtuoso, grandiose!!!

  • I closed my eyes while I listened to this beautifully performed piece. I could imagine a magical scene out of Shakespeare's 'A midsummers Night Dream'. What a treasure! Bravo!

  • oh Asians and their natural born talent to play piano...I swear they are born with a gene that give them an advantage lol....please don't take offense, I'm only kidding, but its pretty true about the high propensity of Asians who can play piano so well, you gotta admit!

  • @MDkid1 not many can play nearly as well as george though imo. :P

  • @MDkid1 I think its because of hard work and patience and also interest.

  • @MDkid1 theres alot of asians too. law of averages.

  • Awesome George, you have definitely improved since the first time I saw you play. :)

  • o.O

  • wow George this is very Beautiful Good job

  • Playing at that level when you're that young is stunning, I imagine that you're putting a huge effort into practice and the pianoplay overall. I'm sure that if you continue like this we'll see you performing worldwide in some of the most well known orchestras and playing solos before a grand audience. Keep posting, it's always equally inspiring.
