Akemi was hired to act. "Granular Synthesis" are two guys who did this whole thing. Akemi actually was confused as she saw the result.

For guys who understand: They used Granular synthesis to trigger the videos. I don´t know if single frames were linked to specific grains but hey crazy and brilliant stuff, I´d love to see it live (duration about an hour... brainwash!).

It's Granular Synthesis. The performer, Akemi Takeya, is using some sort of video program to take recorded video of her face and make the start and stop points of a loop of video very close together, to create a tone of sorts. With this she is using various recordings of herself to create an ambient soundscape of sorts; using the voice as an instrument. Hope that clears things up.
