  • This is actually really, really interesting; you can see the seeds of some very early ideas that found their way into his later work. What's surprising is that this format is really funny and would work today, particularly with Gervais' persona.

  • i've actually learned some good tips from David Beasly, through RG ofcourse.

  • hahahaa !

  • woman wearing makeup and reading out written lines -> Bullshit man Ricky gervais as Karl would say.

  • this guy is super creative and i guess being atheist helps his creativity

  • omg the end is soo funyy

  • the very end of this is hilarious

  • i hope he does a few of these in his new show .

  • love how he punts the microphone at 3:10

  • people who allow a persona to do the work Ricky Gervais, Dom Joly, and Andy Kauffman... Alan Partridge to some degree.

  • alan partridge is a character, not a persona

  • Upon Second throught, yes i agree

  • Ricky is the funniest man ever next Oliver Hardy his great great grandad

  • well done for posting. the guy is a marvel.

  • Davis Beasley is the name of one of Gervais' old school friends lol He mentions him on his live shows :)

  • @ErraticConduct because its part of the act... being a bit of an arrogant arsehole is part of the comedy persona of Ricky Gervais. Just because its done very subtly compared to other comedians who "play a character" doesn't mean that's what he's really like. As you say, its obvious from the interviews where he is being himself that he is a nice and normal bloke.

  • totally - listen to the podcasts and you can tell he's highly educated, well-informed, he pretends that he doesnt care about charity but he does loads of stuff for cancer charities and homeless charities - he's a good guy

  • @seanbear22 Some people find it hard to comprehend that human beings have more than one side to their personality.

  • VHS brilliant...

  • .......fucking genius!

  • Oh God l love him rofl xxx

  • I love how he actually drop-kicks the mic at the end HAHA

  • the man in seat 4a pmsl .brilliant

  • was the gay porn thing fake.

  • what do you mean fake. it was a set up, those people were actors, but it's funny anyway.

  • thats what i meant was it set up or not.

  • well yeah it was probably set up.

  • I can't seem to stop laughing! subtle yet

    HILARIOUS !! <3 Ricky.

  • me neither. that last one...he just acts so brilliant. i can't stop laughing.

  • david beesley! isnt he the cock on fly bloke and "more meat ccanniblas bloke"

  • yep, thats him

  • Very funny and the bits with the audience are more than a little reminiscent of Alan Partridge, I think.

  • haha i like the fucked up weird guy in the audience

  • Great stuff....Ricky should do his own show again...absolute legend

  • this is hilarious!

  • this show looks pretty good, why did nobody like it.

  • I agree! It's a bit silly but it made me laugh out loud more than once :)

  • cos people are twats

  • Gunge joke - genius! How does he do it?

  • horne and corden coppied this

  • most of "gavin and stacey's" clip are copies from other comedeis..... ie. the football song when others join in, the same has gareth in the office ...manomanom de der der de de mannomanom de der der de.............. when brent and co joins in

corden is a talentless(unfunny) fat twat!

  • sry what has this vid got to do with gavin and stacey are u relpying to someone elses comment, as you didn't make that clear.

  • Isn't the last audience member Nathan Barley?

  • erm, no

  • no but David Beesley is in fact Damon Beesley, writer of such comedy masterpieces as The Inbetweeners and Flight of the Conchords.

  • what do you mean? do you mean damon beeesley is the guy ricky gervias went to school with, and ricky just changed his name when reffering to him?

  • Very funny. I've seen all his stuff, but this was a suprise. Thanks for posting!

  • hahhahahahahahahaha

  • I remember this, great show, i used to like the litle chats he had in his dressing room about being sexually touched : )

  • i remember most of the guests on this show seemed to be in a state of disbelief. surely if you are the likes of jimmy saville or john virgo you must realise by now the only reason you are invited on to a chat show is to get the piss taken out of you and be a gag prop.

ive actually been to that peep show in amsterdam, but i went there specifically to see a cock up a man's arse. it wasn't all it was crack-ed up to be.

  • Nice pun.

  • god :D second gag cracks me up :)

  • Fantastic stuff. I remember Steve Merchant's little cameos were really funny (and creepy).
