The problem I see with the HD quality of the Iphone/youtube combination is that the movie starts to stutter. When you look at it in fullscreen on HD you see what i mean. I made a movie in my gokart in HD, and it looks shaky but detailed, in 480p it works fine only the sound en detail quality is dropped.

Sorry, the Wave shoots way better videos. If you are looking for a very good phone that is reliable in taking pics and videoshooting, I recommend the Samsung Wave...

I agree with the lack of 3rd party formats.. It kinda frustrates me on some occasions. Although there's a good reason behind that decision.. but till today, it's still too early.. most of us are still stuck and reliant to proprietary closed formats such as divx. I think it would take time before we can finally embrace h.264.

While I love divx and other closed format... I believe in the open standards idea. I had to adopt for good..

Not true.. Photography is part of my work, and I must make it clear that Higher Mpx does not translate to better picture quality.

Point-n-shoot / phone cam and DSLR cam, even though for example they are both 10mpx, the picture quality will be miles apart. Now what makes? It's not the "compression codec" LOL, but the Sensor size. Larger sensors captures more light info that makes quality pictures. Phone cams has pinky size, while DSLR has sensors larger than a standard post stamps.

a higher mega pix simply means a higher resolution.

the most important is how the camera takes up colour (accurately? too much red/blue/green?)

another thing is the focus and ISO, these are much more important than mega pix.

that's why you can get 10.1 megapix for a random camera but will no where be as good as a 8 megapix DSLR (also those DSLR has way more built in chips especially to improve image quality)

@mombooks I don't know if you've used it for any length of time, but the argument over a physical keyboard or virtual keyboard is an old one.  You get used to the virtual keyboard very quickly and it's ability to auto-correct your typing makes it better than a hardware keyboard in the end.
