What a scam. Half of these anti viruses is just awful and never should be touched. Av-comparatives is the only non-for-profit organization that does independent AV testing and bit defender is not anywhere in the top! Vipre sucks. As does Panda.

What the hell are they talking about here? Avira, avast, kasperky, nod32, Norton and MSE are the only ones you should look into buying. But the first 2 and MSE provide decent protection for free!

one day my computer was acting slow and buggy, so i ran Norton scan but came back thumbs up.

i found that strange so i uninstalled it and installed in AVG and scanned my computer, came back with 674 virus's.....

the reason for so many virus's was that a "buddy" was "hooking me up" with some programs.

But Norton is on my shit list forever.

@thegrandtaco same thing happened to me but with Eset Nod32.... I hooked myself up with the apps LOL, took a scan with Malwarebytes (free version) just to feel safe and found about 300 "little spartans", the Nod32 staid green and gave no warnings even after a pumped up deep system scan....

@luffy3799 Sorry maybe Vipre is good but i tried it and got attacked recently by a ROOTKIT now my laptop goes back to service it killed the backup partition and Vipre could not defend it stand alone. I use a TRIAL NOD 32 with Comode firewall with PREVX and usually test desktop with Super anti spyware its good at killing cookies and after it malware bytes. Damn much of defence used Gdata also its good but got problems software based. Bitdefender slowed my laptop internet and usage.

I would not say norton is slow, to all those who said. I am using two computers, one with kaspersky and one with norton. The one with norton is my backup comp with xp and only 1 gb ram. Yet it can finish a full scan faster than most antivirus I ever used.

I have both avg/norton.bitdefender and i can say bitdefender is the best, i had a virus on my pc neither notorn or avg picked it up installed bitdefender and it found it on the first full system scan. EVERYONE LISTEN AND THUMBS THIS UP! Bitdefender is good, but you need a 8gb RAM computer to let it run without slowing down your computer. Norton is also good, but doesn't totally uninstall the viruses you get, and sometimes leaves them on your computer. Kaspersky misses a ton of new viruses out there and doesn't update usually. ESETNOD32 is THE best! only uses 48mb of RAM and you can't even realize it's even running on your computer.
