  • This makes me think of the video for Marilyn Manson's Tourniqet, the video for last Dance with Mary Jane, and ah oh yeah Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie.

  • Frankenstein is Victor's last name. The monster has no name.

  • nope not part of the book...Victor never created a companion as the Creature requested

  • @VocalStimulation Well, technically, he did create it, but he changed his mind at the last minute and destroyed the body before giving it life.

  • what? Is this even part of the book?

  • Hey i thought this was elizabeth not chucky

  • Ughh I just love Helena Bonham Carter, she acts with such great emotion, you can literately feel the emotion in her character.

  • I like the changes made to the ending as opposed to the book. This ending makes the monster seem more intelligent than he appears, as if he knew how everything was going to play out up until the resurrected Elizabeth rejected him.

  • This is one of the worse pornos I've ever seen

  • Cool. Great cast, surprised to see Robert De Niro playing the monster.

  • Flaming Bride!

  • both of victor frankenstien's passions resulted in abomination.only when elizabeth commited suicide did he realize that the dead are better left dead.life is already perfected with evolution yet science aways tries to perfect it. people strive to live longer than life allows. on breathing machines for years, heart transplants, plastic surgery, death is a natural and necessary process to make way for new life.the earth that we thrive on and that life springs from consist of tons of dead matter

  • creeepy now when both are stitched

  • This, is without a doubt one of the most disturbing scenes, from any of all the Frankenstein adoptions.

The look in Elizabeth's eyes, the music, it's just so haunting.

  • We men of science can only dream of what Victor did, but we could very well dread the consequence of what the abomination could produce.

    Ah Alas,

What things we might gain from such science as old as this. We live in a dark age where no mortal is curious in the matters of the reanimation of the dead. But maybe one day we might have this as a mastered science or another forbidden Dark Art.

We all seek the knowledge that is forbidden, Immortality, Immunity, and Strength. Just like in the

  • look at those two guys face

    :O

    /:0

    >:O _SUICIDE!!!_

  • My God-she looks worse than death itself! Only someone truly insane would want to reanimate a corpse, especially one like her! (Luckily, that's impossible!) No wonder she set herself on fire, I'd do the same thing too if I were her! I can't help but feel sorry for Elizabeth though, I mean what'd she ever do to get chased by a madman and his insane monster, at such a young age?

  • i feel so sad for her :(

  • Can you send this to me like tonight?

  • NOT.BOOK.ACCURATE.

    ...thanks for uploading though!

  • @weirdofun1 neither was the 1930 version and is still good.

  • @glop48 I meant this scene though I agree

  • Comment removed

  • This is where the movie for me got really off track. But still interesting movie nonetheless

  • Kenneth Branagh - as in Mr Wallander himself?

And is it me or does Helana Boham Carter appear in everything? Not that i am complaining I think she is a very good actress

  • wait was this part in the book?

  • @littlemsporkbun Well i red a book 5 years ago and i think it wasnt in the book. But i could be wrong

  • @lemmycro it wasn't he started to make a bride for his monster but never finished

  • awesome movie...

  • ugly bitch

  • Was it only I who would have shot the monsters with a .12 gauge shotgun?

  • 2:01

    Female Two-Face (Batman)

  • 'And now we learn of the birth of Bellatrix Lestrange!'

Was all I could think when we watched this in Literature today.....

  • This DOES NOT happen in the book. In fact, putting this in the film changes the character of Victor Frankenstein entirely. This is bullshit. I don't even want to watch this now.

  • @patjuba Yes! I just learned of this film recently, and this sets my blood boiling as well. Coppola did this with his Dracula movie too - entirely changing the ending and characterizations, and probably the entire point of the book. What compels him to twist the stories to his own liking while still adding the names of the authors onto his movies as if they're still faithful? NERD RAGE.

  • interesting adaptation choice to bring back Elizabeth as a monster. haunting too.

  • The most diabolical creation mankind has ever produced! I'm talking about the movie of course. They should never let him behind a camera again as long as he lives and he should be forced to make a public apology. Especially for putting De Niro in the tosh.

  • @WillShakespeare2007

That's a little harsh. It's not like Coppola or Branagh were the ones who wrote the screenplay which is where this and BSD are truely flawed. Granted neither of these movies are masterpieces, but they meant well. I don't blame the directors really because I think they nailed the look and mood, but they had to work with flawed screenplays. There's no reason why the author's names should have been on these movies, but hey there are FAR worse Dracula and Frankenstein films.

  • @balrog13571 - Well the first part was mean to be humorous but...

I actually think BSD is a pretty good movie and I never mentioned it and it is not on this video so I am not sure why you mention it. Actually Branagh was given full artistic control on this film and made many script changes and even sacked 3 time Oscar nominated screenwriter Frank Darabont (Shawshank redemption) and took total control of the script himself. Branagh is totally responsible for this abortion - no one else.

  • @WillShakespeare2007

I only mentioned BSD because Coppola was involved with both of these and they both make the same mistakes. I guess I heard differently about the screenplay, but even so it has some charm in my eyes. It's not able to work past it's flaws as well as BSD, but it did at least give an effort to tell it's own original story while staying more true to the material. Not saying it's that good, but there have been many movies that completely ignore the source or make a joke of it.

  • @balrog13571 BSD - was an entertaining piece of cinema with a brilliant performance by Oldman. This is unintentionally hilarious from beginning to end. This scene is so funny with poor Helena Bonham Carter and Robert De Niro grunting away in a scene with all the dramatic impact of a tampax commercial. Branagh even casts John Cleese as his professor in a set of comedy false teeth. I thought everyone only watched this for a laugh but each to their own I guess.

  • @WillShakespeare2007

Well that's true, but it's not like BSD had a perfect cast either. In fact most were either bad or practically filler. I'm not saying this is perfect by any means either, but neither was that. With that said I don't think it's exactly fair to say that a director should never touch a camera again jsut because one movie didn't work out that well. It's like saying just because The Lovely Bones didn't work for some, that Peter Jackson is a bad director for every movie he does.

  • @balrog13571 - Well, it doesn't matter what I think, does it, as I am just another guy with an opinion on YouTube. After 17 years he is totally forgiven by Hollywood it seems as they have given him $150 million to direct "Thor." It is out in a couple of weeks so he might be right back on top again.

  • @WillShakespeare2007

Well that's true. Hopefully he'll deliver what people want. He's certainly got a big enough budget and a good enough cast for it including Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Natalie Portman etc. Granted there were alot of great actors in this movie who weren't quite right for their parts (to me at least), but Branagh may deliver. It's a comic book based movie, so I can see why he was chosen to direct due to the visual aspect, and maybe he'll get the comic/myth feel too.

  • "til death do you part".

  • She was prettier in the Bride of Frankenstein but it wasn't Mary Shelley's version because they didn't use Elizabeth..which kind of sucked...but atleast she didn't look as horrible as she does now :/ She actually looked cool. But in this version, I can understand why she'd freak out. She looks awful >_<

  • Kenneth Branagh's: Transformers. Directed by Kenneth Branagh. Written by Kenneth Branagh. Starring Kenneth Branagh as Optimus Prime and Shia LaBouf. Coming this summer...

  • we just finished watching this in my english class, very strange movie

  • Still not the book.

  • shes ugly

  • i am watching this in my english lesson and it is fucking skechy

  • *sobs* poor Elizabeth T___T

  • Is it just me or did Helena Bonham Carter get sexier with all those scars?

  • omg! this movie is amazing i have hered of this movie before but never once got to see it and after this clip i want to see more!. how did he kill her?

  • @1candi234 She burned herself to death by crushing the lamp like that, and the resulting fire destroyed the house and forced the other two to escape

  • Victor Frankenstein is the 'Creator'

The monster is referred to as the 'Creation'

  • BETTER THAN TITANIC!!!

  • Yeah I'd definately recommend the book, Margaruette Lamond also does an excellent adaption. Which was...Early in the 1900's, can't be sure though

  • FUCK I JUST SPOILED THE BOOK

  • @700Nisarg No you didn't; this part never happened.

  • why is justin lee collins in this?LOL

  • and BTW it just a matter of time for Helena gets her oscar..she's just not Burton's wife

  • I still can't believe that Kenneth Branagh left Emma Thompson and then he hooked up with Helena Bonham Carter and the three of them portrayed characters in the Harry Potter saga

  • @shialabeouf17 Thank God none of them have any scenes together.

  • I just don't get why it had to be justine's body.. >_> Just keep the body intact and replace the heart no? `O`

  • omg, BELLATRIX?! WHAT R U DOING THERE O_O

omg, LOCHART?! WHAT R U DOING THERE O_O

  • @finlant Haha no way these guys have done so much more then Harry Potter, that just adds to the list, just so much diversity...

  • Another great variation of Frankenstein and his legendary Creature. Kenneth Branagh directed this film plus he was the leading actor here - perfect job in both departments. Robert De Niro was brilliant as The Creature. Every single scene was very well done. It was nice to see Ian Holm too - loved his work in 'Alien' and 'The Fifth Element'

  • Very morbid.

  • Watched this in english, totally pml'd, especially when the daft bitch stets herself on fire. TEAM JKG!!!!

  • I like the book better.... They make Elizabeth look bad in the movie....

  • HBC is so incredible, what a range!

  • I remember that this part wasn't in the book. But whatever.

  • great acting

  • This is why you don't fuck with nature: When you make your own creature, it's just gonna end up trying to bang your undead girlfriend.

  • that sucked

  • Helena Bonham Carter was just fantasic in this

  • This scene is so distrurbing. Tragic and heartbreaking.

  • This shit is not in the book.

  • im pretty sure it is called the frankinstein Monster. ^^

  • @jakelino88 It's 'the creature' in the book.

  • @jakelino88 It's 'the creature' in the book.

  • @jakelino88 It's 'the creature'.

  • GOD THIS IS NASTY MAKE UP!

  • Frankenstein is the creator, not the creation.

    Also PFF what the hell.

Although he did finally have the idea to reanimate Elizabeth! Finally~

  • @LoffleMe I'm well aware that Victor's last name is Frankenstein. Just to clarify it for the person who asked the question I called the monster Frankenstein. Thanks tho.

  • @TPOTOishere Ah, okay. :)

  • @TPOTOishere

In the book, the monster has no name. It's called "the monster." That's it.

  • @LoffleMe He couldn't reanimate dead corpses. Said so in the book when he was creating the monster.

  • @rmhism Well he could take her apart, put her back together, and something'd come of it. *shrug*

  • @LoffleMe whose pff?

  • @zuevaxcy23 nobody, it's a noise

  • i bet she was so pissed cuz of what victor did to her

  • @xxliljpxx She was heartbroken.

She was so beautiful and the "love" of her life didn't leave her in peace.

  • @xxliljpxx Or she was torn because she was being forced to choose between them and she no longer felt that she was good enough for Victor (as a guess)

  • wat happen to the woman, how did she end up the way she is now?

  • @AnimeDollxAna2 She died because of Frankenstein. Victor who is the scientist remakes her the same way he does Frankenstein and of course since he is the only one like this he finds her beautiful.

  • they was fighting over her as if she was a doll

  • I never understood why Elizabeth regained the memory of her past life while the "monster" never did.

  • @femalephantomdimes5 i fink it was because she till ahd her brain and i fink victor gave the monster his proffessors brain or something

  • "Frankenstein" and Victor are the same person. The Monster is referred to only as "the Monster".

  • i sorta laughed at the scene just for how surreal it was i'm sorry i cant take deniro seriously as frankenstein

  • this part waz kinda sad :(

  • DUDE! you didn't include the part where she burnt the house down, which is HILARIOUS-ly unrealistic

  • @themightybullfrog yeah my bad

  • @themightybullfrog It's the most epic suicide I've ever seen :D

  • This was so horribly inaccurate. Victor didn't even use Elizabeth to appease the Creature's desire for a female companion. She was killed shortly after she married Victor, which was well after Victor had destroyed the Creature's female counterpart... before even finishing it, if I may add.

  • @Metaknight486 Yes, this was inaccurate. But this is how they chose to make the movie. It doesn't do any good to complain to a fan about a movie made over a decade ago.

  • @Metaknight486 Based on a book, true... But it was rather intresting...

  • @Metaknight486 ...Its Mary Shelleys Version, man.

  • @CaffeinatedWorkEthic Mary Shelley was the original author. This did not happen in the book; I know because I had to read it.

  • @CaffeinatedWorkEthic It's not a long book, you could probably get through it in the time of the movie if you are a fast reader, you should try it.

  • Very Scary Movie, I remember....

  • felt so sorry for her :(
