I drive 15 year and 10 in Europe with the Scania 112, 113, 142 and 143 and also use straight pipe. I don’t drive anymore since 2001 but I need to explain that I think to have more respect for the acceleration, including shifting and downshifting and slowing the truck, of course we all think drive better but sorry, I could not resist ... I love this truck.

I remember the big steering wheel, the spacious seating and fogged mirror where driving feel was necessary. I remember that when changing from a truck, a minimum of one week was needed for the discomfort to get out of my body. A few weeks ago I was doing a ride with a new Daf from a colleague...

A truck become luxury cars and maybe was that the step to give a woman the possibility. @unknown4691 Please see one of the other videos with this truck, search for Straight pipe Scania R500 pulls a heavy load, awesome sound and Straight pipe Scania R500 pickin' up another HEAVY load in the harbour and you'll see some gear changing.

hahaha that blokes got 2 weed grinders on his instrument cluster... hes got the choice of a wake me up kush or a go to bed blueberry. .. typical of yer trampers. @ThatHoodNiggaBrik If the pipe is underneat the truck coming out right infront of the rear wheel it's not loud in the cab, if you put your window open it is ofcourse... But if you have standing pipes behind the cab it is somewhat louder inside and somewhat more silenced on the ground.

@Bevoin1970 Haha, no it's real easy to shift gear, he use the split as you could see, just press down the clutch and it change gear. I'm sorry, I cant explain in english how it works..

@Jobergg the switch in the side of the gear leaver is the high and low gear selector.

@Jobergg You put the lever in a desired "Full gear", there are 6 "full gears" and they are divided into high and low (which you control with a button on the stick), when you've put it into a full gear, you can switch between two "half gears" without moving the lever, you do this by pushing a another button on the lever, and then quickly press down, and release the clutch, and it lowers the RPM about the half of what a full gear would. :)
