I just discovered this... wonderful short film. I got the goosebumps when I saw the blind mother... having heard from her son that "she taught him to see". Brilliant.
wow, it must have been pretty expensive short movie...
nice, dynamic cinematography, but later it just becomes tiring, feels a bit "too much". I used to love Inarritu because of 21 grams and Babel, but now I think all his work is too similar.
No problem. You can get a copy of the album on Escofet's website. I can't link to it on YouTube because I'll get marked as spam. But if you search for "Sebastian Escofet" in most search engines you should find it. The album is called "Meditaciones".
I've been trying to find it too. I believe it is copyrighted by the Mexican production company, I'd contact them, but I can't find an English line. The song's been stuck in my head for a long time, so I really want a copy.
the song at the end is the same song from man on fire with denzel washington. my wife said it had something to do with i can't see your face anymore or something to that effect, i guess ill never know my wife passed this month if anyone can help please e-mail what the song is ,or about. thanks
When the driver asks why he became a photographer, he says, "Because my mother taught me to see." Just in case you didn't realize the significance of this at the end. (((SPOILER)))
And if you really didn't get it, the mother is blind.
Yes, it's "Una Palabra" used later by Tony Scott's "Man On Fire" in 2004, but was used earlier in this film. Tony Scott may have heard this song after he made a film for BMW Films, called "Beat The Devil".
