What really appeals about the mamiya 645 system is that Leica now make an adapter to fit their S lenses in this body

There are two big benefits to leaf shutter systems. 1) They are quieter than focal plan shutters. 2) They will sync with flash at any shutter speed.

This is do to the fact that since the iris of a leaf shutter opens completely to expose the sensor or film plan. It avoids the "scanning" motion of a focal plane shutter where one current fallows the other only exposing a portion of the sensor as it travels across the film plane.

@rvascof1 for street photography a leaf shutter is near silent, which helps to not draw further attention :)
