@layzer80 congrats, you completely missed the point of using gear like this. Have fun living in your oversimplified and closed-minded version of reality
@layzer80 who cares???? - VST synths sound like crap and nothing beats a bunch or steel wood and metal boxes to make music- with real hands and the mind lost in music! Add all analog and you cant even compare VST synth garbage
this guy has a similar taste in gear to me, ive got an electribe emx, a mini KP (which is shite btw dont get it), ive got an slk mkii zero (the newer version of his) and im gettin a dave smith tetra when i can afford it
I am thinking of getting a mopho but it all rests on wether you can plug anything into it. Say, if its just a jack input could you plug a guitar into it? Or a Instrument Mic? Or is it just a midi input. Also, I really enjoyed the video aswell. Really nice sounds. If I was making music of this genre these are the sort of sounds I would be looking for.
@cartesiaLive it semms to me nearly impossible to have a common definition what minimal art/music is on yt. How would you define it? Which artists would you mention?
You're right it is difficult to define minimal.. Many diff sounds.
(IMO) one of the common elements of minimal music, is there is alot of space between sounds.. I think of it like this:
Not minimal - imagine it's a room full of things going on - people, furniture, etc.
Minimal - imagine its an empty room but you see light shining through the window, dust floating in the light.. there's a crack on one wall.. normally not noticed, but in an empty room they become interesting.
So I think of this song as a room.. it only has one thing in it (the acid-ish line), but to me it's a big thing like an alien or a blob of jelly on a table or something.. not a small seemingly insignificant thing..
@cartesiaLive If you look at my newer videos you also can find some polyrhythmn in it... Though I like your description of the alien blob of jelly - which also would be a nice title!
@cartesiaLive thanx for your interesting definition of minimal! I think minimal has also a lot to do with polyrhythmn (in this improvisation I don't use polyrhytm) When I started with music I was impressed by Steve Reich and then I heared/saw a very interesting concert by La Monte Young in Vienna. Later I studied electronic music - I like when melodylines repeat and the sounds are modulated. For me this is also minimal.
Bit hard to tell what the mopho is doing coz when you turn down the MX at the end the 303'esque sound stops.... but still, nice tune. Is the mopho doing the acid-line..?
I had that Novation controller couldn't it to work with my system for shit, pretty cool by the way.

Mopho has a 1/4" jack for input a MIDI in and out, audio out l+r
You can plug things in, but I have had little luck directing inputting a vocal mic in.
