Absolutely LOVE this flick, I've seen it several times & will watch it several more. Beautifully written and acted-the entire cast were dead-on the money. A great, quiet, intelligent movie with a soul & very little cheese! Living in Oblivion, In the Soup, Station Agent, Garden State, Hard Eight, I love quietly intelligent indie flicks-which don't wallow in pretension. There are still some great movies being made, true art-just don't expect it from hollywaste other than the rare exception!

My fav movie on the earth is about a 16 year old suicidal kid who spend a few days in a mental health clinic called 3-north, (and yes, it's not a military base like it sounds like) and do crazy stuff yet having the best time ever. And it's kind of a funny story how aweeeeeeeeeesomee and speeeeeeeeeeeeeeechless this movie is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not that there's anything wrong with his doing that or anything. She was like a foil. Anyway, I'm sorry you didn't like her, but as long as you liked the movie! I didn't like her much the first time I saw it, either. She grew on me after the second time.

the book has the same name as the movie. it is written from Ned Vizzini's own experience of checking himself in. the book explains craigs journey to the hospital in more detail than the movi, i think, and he doesnt even get to 6 north til halfway through the book. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did :)
