@caddyking444 It is a head tracking device that allows you to control your ingame view by moving your head. So in this video it is how I look around that is what I was demonstrating to a friend. It quickly becomes very intuitive and for me is now an essential part of my flight sim experience. @Gcatt1 Depends on the situation I think. BVR A2A combat can certainly be won without the use of a trackir online. Anything that requires constant visual contact, without trackir, is not impossible but certainly makes it very difficult. For me, the trackir is as valuable as my flight stick and throttle. I can no longer enjoy a flight sim without a trackir anymore then I can without a flight stick.
No worries, the monitor only comes on when you have the A2G missiles selected. The A10 doesn't have an onboard camera. The camera's are actually built into the A2G guided missiles and so you can only use the camera if you have armed your A10 with at least one of these missiles and have it selected.

Is it possible to win in air to air (or atg) without a TrackIr system in online mode in this and other games/sims?

It is FC, but I'm sorry I can't remember if I had a terrain mod at the time of this capture or not. It is likely I had a few tree and water mods.

Can you fire sidewinders at ground targets,too? the demo won't let me.

No you can't. The A2A targeting system was not designed to lock onto ground targets. Infact it is very primitive relatively speaking on the A10
