This is an awesome video and a great set of comments....insightful, interesting, and obvioulsy from other musicians. If only the rest of YouTube was like this. I really enjoyed listening to this.
They didn't use as much. This is one of my favorite string quartets, too, so I definitely do listen to the music. Besides, this is a high school quartet.
hey you guys this is pretty good, it seems like you guys are very good solo artists but, you guys are lacking some quartet skills, for example you guys should look at each other more, giving each other support. I know the cello part in this piece isn't very difficult so you should be looking at the 1st violin, and the 2nd violin and viola needs to be looking at each other more often, you guys are off in some parts. but in generally its pretty good. 3 1/2 of 5
Strings are very hard instruments, but every instrument is hard in its own way. For example the trombone, I find it amazing that good players can hit the note dead on. and they don't even have a fingering, and can only move a slide. Or the tpt where you have to learn good breathing and steady air flow.
I have to agree. I also play both. I find trombone to be much easier in many ways, but I'm still kind of a beginner. When I really start tongueing quick I think the trombone will get quite a bit harder.
You should think about maybee sitting with the viola across the 1. violin. The balance between the cello and the rest of you guys would be much better..
yea, you actually are right. I've worked on it more since my post 10 months ago, and their tempo is just right. Not too fast as my first perception said, I guess we were still in the process of learning it and a tempo that fast just sort of overwhelmed me at the time.
@pbpeex: no, this is te same formation my quartet sits in for all pieces :) it just depends on what type of sound u want

Call me racist, but why do Asians always use so much damn vibrato?
ThaSchwab 1 year ago
@ThaSchwab heifetz used a lot of vibrato too.... and anne sophie mutter (she vibrated the crap out of the beethoven concerto)
you sir need to listen to the music and and not focus on external stuff...

I'm playing this now with my quartet, and we're almost at that level. Here's to us winning Gold at State!

The viola should be louder.

My God, this is the BEST interpretation of this piece that I have ever heard, especially with respect to tempo and dynamics.

Their skill is highly commendable.
Who am I kidding, when will I be this good?

as somebody who plays both, I can say that the violin might be harder for those who can't multitask as easily.

control of an air column is the most important thing for all brass instruments

I know that wonderful cellist!

Great! Quite fast though. Many of the notes were lost because of the speed. It caused it to be a little unstable tempo wise.
If they slowed down a bit, I don't doubt it would've sounded terrific!

nope its supposed to be this fast
im playing it with my quartet
