  • 3 of clubs again

  • The Three of Clubs is a very easy card to see and remember.

  • @axeljordan1 That is impossible, how did he move the curtain then at the start? You can clearly see he hasn't got arms behind his back

  • The real trick isn't even how the keep track of the card, though that's part of it. The real trick is how they get you to choose the card they want you to choose in the first place, even (and especially) in non-parody versions of this trick.

This time I can figure, since he was holding the deck at all times, that he always had the card he wanted chosen in hand (literally). I still can't figure out the "choose the card yourself" version, though.

  • Anyone else get the 1984 reference?

  • teller had fake arms atached to the cage as they didnt move at all and he was holding his hands behind his back as he left and eentered the stage he didnt turn his back

  • @axeljordan1 Close. His arms are actually going up into the bottom of the cage. The hands are fake, but the arms are real (thus the gloves). The bottom of the cage opens up on the inside (at the end of the trick you can kinda see the trap door), so he can attach the fake rat with the card to his face.

  • finaly i found a video that teller spoke

  • that fucking 3 of clubs

  • I think I prefer Penn's role

  • It's an easy to figure out trick, but that's not the point. The point is that it's funny.

  • I just realized, I've watched 3 PT card tricks, and all the selected cards are the 3 of clubs.

  • @DrFridgeFondler

Almost every card trick involving penn is with the 3 of clubs. Even in a little tape they made in the 80s

  • tellers hair is boss

  • the gloves are fake so all he needs to do is searching for the card with greasy fingerprints on it, get the fake rat on his nose and put the card in the fake rat his mouth

  • is Penn gay?

  • @CartmanishRunescape no hes not

  • DID ANYONE HEAR TELLER YELLING He finally said something??!?!?!?!!?!?!?

  • @Dzibela5 he acctually talks quite a bit if you look through penn and teller videos

  • Not their best trick but entertaining.

  • WHAT IS THEIR OBSESSION WITH THE THREE OF CLUBS??????

  • @cstviz

i am going to las vegas to see them soon.

    I will ask.

  • @zencat999 sweet, get back to me on that.

  • @cstviz

    no prob.

I got so obsessed by the question that I use the 3clb as my favorite force.

I also have it tattooed on side of my left heel. big club surrounded by three 3s.

    are you a magician?

  • @cstviz

Penn & Teller choose the Three of Clubs as their favorite because it shows up well on TV, according to them.

  • @cstviz

According to them, it's one of the best cards to be picked up easily on cameras for their show. Of course, with today's cameras that's not really a problem anymore. But at the time even in the professional studio world it had to be considered.

  • @cstviz I think it's a long standing thing to show how easy it is to palm cards, and really get the cards you want. Basically a way to make other, more boring magic, even less impressive

  • @cstviz it's easy to recognize on an old bad tv-screen, and it seems very random

if i ever watch a live show of them, i'll wear a t-shirt with "3 of clubs" on it^^

  • @cstviz They claim it shows up best on camera.

  • @cstviz maby its important to them some way maby its penn or tellers favorite card or something :P

  • @cstviz cuz it's easy for viewers to identify it on tv

  • @cstviz It's their go-to card.

  • @cstviz its easy to see on camera, and its not as much as an obvious force card as something like the ace of spades
