  • Please guys do a bit of research into the link between vaccines and autism.

Also look up Andrew Wakefield. This man is a saint in my opinion, he was struck off for doing research into the link between vaccines and autism and the big medical industry tried to destroy him because vaccines means BIG MONEY to them and thats all they care about. Not about us. Also I recommend prayer and the healing power of the Holy Spirit - there is NO no infirmity or sickness that cannot be healed by the Lord.

  • Good video. You have a lot of the traits that my friend with this condition also has, like what you mentioned about the voice fluctuations.

  • People who go public about theire neurological conditions are very brave. You can disagree with what they say, but if you attack them personaly for some small matter with which you disagree, that says something not very nice about you. This is what makes the internet a far less useful tool than it could be.

  • @milascave I agree with you about this.

  • I love how some people actually make a hobby out of the things that "afflict" them or make them "different". Get out. Hang out with people. I have was diagnosed with aspergers last fall for a few weeks I was all "woe is me" but found hobbies like snowboarding. If you make a culture out how different you, people are always gonna view you as weird losers. You're, in fact, making Asperger's your tell-tale narrow interest that is associated with the disorder.

  • shut up guy. your arrogance is manifested by how you admonish other people on the internet its prolly your problem.

  • I'm a girl, and I think you're replying to the wrong comment because I have NO idea what you are talking about, lol. l8tr.

  • yeah i dunno its all good im bored its fun talkin shit on youtube

  • I like this video.

  • Craig is a silly little pleb everyone that writes comments on others vids in the negative to boost his already flagging rep and attitude. If he is AS he is everything i hate about the new generation of Aspies that think the world owes them a living and that they can say what they want without any fear of reprisals due to them flashing the Autism Card. I can say all this as I am a First Generation Aspie and i was brought up with NTs and if I was out of line and rude I got a belt for it.

  • Yep. There's the that tell-tale AS trait of seeing the world in stark black and white. I'd tell you to ease up, but that would be futile since, neurologically, you cannot.

  • LOL says the man with a brain as small as his IQ by the sounds of it

  • and your saying a belt was fair? my son was belted and thrown out of school before he was diagnosed. it took a better school that wasn't narrow minded, ignorant, and had diagnosis and special programs. I feel it is owed to him because i pay taxes and support my country so they owe me. i wasn't as fortunate and suffered. but he is one of the best performing students in his school now and it only took a LITTLE understanding and encouragement. we dont think anyone owes us anything except respect.

  • This is the first time I've heard of the double-speak thing. When you say you repeat it, do mean right after or shortly after, or has it ever occurred hours after the conversation was over?

  • hay i got a video and its simler to yours its cold video ad go to my user name were you see video were it says life of the specl needs video ad part 1 if you look in that video its very comming

  • omg. thank you for putting this up. if i didnt find this i wouldnt have found out about it. i think i have this too i need to go check it ot. omg.

  • I have always been at arms length to other people; I invariably tread on the others psychological toes an have lost nearly all my friends by blurting out tactless things right at the wrong moment no malice intended; by and by I acquired better social skills but I am basically not interested in other folk - to me their goals and interests seem pointless; it is as if I am half in another dimension; I just saw a movies called mirrrors, the last scene is how I feel amongst other folk :(

  • I did the whispering thing where I repeated what I just said immediately after I said it when I was a kid, too. It used to freak people out... and I don't know how it started or anything so it really bugged me and it was hard to break the habit. It's kinda cool to hear that I'm not the only one who did. XD

  • All kids tend to do the whispering thing. It's perfectly normal. It's the brain's way of telling us that we need to remember something. The whispering thing starts being seen as abnormal when we don't grow out of it. Most aspies never do. With some work, we can internalize some of the doublespeak, but it's not easy.

  • I did it until I was eleven or twelve I think... my little brothers and cousins had started teasing me relentlessly about it and I had to try very hard to control it. I still catch myself sometimes, but it's significantly better than it was. I've not been diagnosed aspie, but I'm considering asking to see a doctor about the possibility. I've been doing some internet research and most of it was all too familiar to me. I was very surprised when I saw this video because I've never heard of ..

  • anyone else doing doublespeak.

  • @Myasina wow thats weird because my friend matt does that all the time

  • In honesty, I think she speaks very well. Her pronunciations are very good. I have Asperger's Syndrome. I don't intend to boast but people who have this condition are more intelligent than the average person. I do not like to juxtapose an average person with a person of a condition like this because, as humans, we should be treated equally. Give her a chance. It's not a disability as most people think. Its a neurobiological condition

  • i have aspergers and I do a lot of facial twitching when I talk. My facial expressions and body language don't always match what I'm saying. I repeat stuff too, and my speaking lacks rhythm.

Look at the videos C.A.R. and Guy With a Cat on his Head. You can hear me talking in the background. Tell me what you think.

  • Sorry it took so long, MondoBeno, been out of town.

The way you speak in the video is much like I am off camera without a bit of editing.

The lack of rhythm gets really frustrating when I get into long conversations.

Those I'm speaking with think the change in pace means I'm finished speaking. I'm often interrupted when I'm in the middle of getting my words across.

I'm working on not letting the interruptions bother me.

  • The interruptions? Yikes, I get them too. Btw, watch Napoleon Dynamite. That kid definitely has mild autism.

  • Are you the girl in the video?

  • Which video?

  • Its titled: Talk about Aspergers Syndrome

  • No.

  • Sorry. Wrong person

  • first of all. you are normal. you don't have a disorder. the psych field has sold you a lie and you have bought it.

  • i have been told i have asbergers by a docter

  • Well this was very interesting to hear.

I've always been interested in Aspberger's syndrome ever since a couple of years ago when I had learned about Autism and then through that, of course, Aspberger's.

  • **cut out the 'B'**

  • I have Asperger's syndrome. I have met a specialist and he said that I have 'severe' Aspergers, whatever that means.

  • You mentioned that people with asperger's "doublespeak", I've never that word before, but that sounds like what I do. Is there a more official name for doublespeaking?

  • I have heard it called 'reverse SWH' or reverse Sapir-Worf hypothesis. SWH basically says that words create behavior. For someone who doublespeaks constantly, w/no reason, it's because the brain is 'digesting' the words. Aspie's aren't the only ones who do so, but it is one thing most of us have in common.

  • Thank you for your video and sharing the information with us. It's also useful for me to learn more about other people, and how to cope with things, and learn more about similarities between myself and you, and I can identify if i might also have symptons of asbergurs syndrom.

  • One thing is really bad for me is that it has affected my whole life and like depression because aspergers suffers find it diffcult to develop good relationships, and nobody really understands you. They would think you are rude, when you are not! Also to read and understand body language such as sarcasm if or when to take things literally or not. I've never really fitted in with a group, I am the odd one out! Do you feel the same? I have it only mildy! If you want to talk to someone I am here.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I'm coming to terms with AS. wish me luck. Lance

  • You got it!

  • I have tourettes and some people with tourettes also have ADD. That can make concentration hard. OCD can also come with tourettes and that can cause us to become fixated on things.

  • I have a younger brother who's syndrome has been overlooked for too long and had almost begun to rip my family apart. He is so incredibly fixated on things, we have called it ironheaded and stubborn for so long. You cannot get things out of his head, He doesn't even pronounce "I want" anymore, "UUnt!" toys, recently, video games, fifty bucks apiece, movies, crazy!! He begged for a Wii, 360, DS, and HP computer. "UUUUnt!" "UUnt!" "UUnt!" "UUnt!" "UUnt!"

  • That is a big problem with any problem that's been overlooked too long. Ignoring the problem isn't the answer, but spoiling the person isn't the answer either.

The big problem is focus. This can be re-directed to constructive things, things that can help. Look into counseling from your local school or hospice. You will find lots of people in the same boat. Believe me, especially with an older child, or someone with the disorder, these resources can help a lot.

  • Did you ever get in fights with your mom over semantics? My mom claims that I'm not global enough and I retort that she overgeneralizes and isn't specific enough.

  • I fought with my mom constantly, but very little over my own problems. She had her own problems that needed dealt with before she could see mine.

The biggest ones had to do with why my yearly IQ tests were so high, yet my grades in school were average for the most part.

  • everything you described about your AS i relate to also. not sure if i am or not but will find out...

  • The biggest thing to remember is that autism (including aspergers) is not a disease, it is a spectrum disorder. Unfortunately, most of the publicity make it seem like the latter. Disorders are adaptive, and can be tolerable with adaptive education.

  • For example, my autistic son does not speak, and has serious problems trying to get his point across when he does. However, he is very good at sign language, can read and write a little. Now instead of getting frustrated about his problem communicating, he finds another way.

  • where is the hard science of the theory ?

what is your view of reality ?

  • As for the hard science, my best answer is to google and to visit the library. My husband has a huge bookshelf full of books on the psychological effects of aspergers and autism. No room here.

My view of reality is like a river or perhaps the shore. The water ebbs, flows, changes. Nothing stays stagnant or real the same way for long, yet it is still real. Anything that sits still, or always has the same result process is fascinating.

  • I would be proud to call you a friend.

  • lol i was diagnosed with AS, but strangely none of the things u said applies to me...

  • even though i have it, its not bad. i agree with with jaydy11. it doese have down sides but we are all people. one book tat I read said that there is a little bit in everyone. because we are all different.

  • Aspergers is not a disease, like most ordinaries make it out to be. It's just a difference.

We view things very differently than those that are considered normal.

It isn't that we can't do things, or that we aren't intelligent. We simply don't do things the rote way the ordinaries want us to.

Thinking about that santa display, Not many can say they can re-create the mechanism after staring at it for a while. I can. In fact, I did, for a friend's 2007 lawn display.

  • I have asbergers. and those people here like shalotus are really mean and i find that mean):<

  • dont worry about staring at things, it kind of helps me think, which is good because I'm a math major. Never let you own genetics get in the way, just make sure to keep functioning. Keep moving you know? Keep moving forward.

  • The biggest problem with haveing aspergers is in your love life. I'm a perfectly viable boyfriend, unfortunatly when I talk to women, they tend not to think of me as being particularly fun.

  • I hear ya dude. When I was in college people wondered why a guy like me didn't have a gf. Guess what? I did too!

Is there a special dating site for aspies? Going to bars is not a good idea for guys like us.

  • My therapist suggests being friends with someone FIRST. That seems to work better for us. A neurotypical will instinctualy pick up on the fact that there is something odd about us. If people get to know us FIRST, they can override their instinctual reaction.

  • Holy shit theres more kids with Aspergers syndrome than I thouht I have it to.

  • I've got Asperger's Syndrome, some things, I'm obsessed with tape recorders, knew about electronics and circuit building sense I was 7, talk on and on about vintage tape recorders, don't make good eye contact,

  • look closely at the details and designs of the workings of my recorders operating-very cool, like certain types of sound qualities, act weird alot, laugh at many things that others don't think are that funny, I guess I do stare at interesting things-of course, tape recorders. Probably more that won't come to mind right now. If mad rages have to do with Asperger's, I get SUPER mad at my computer when it acts up, and if kids bother me at school enough, I tend to get VERY mad and shout.

  • ur headset pwns

  • I understand, i have aspergers syndrome

  • antisocial, stupid, pathetic, and ignorant.

Only a few words to describe you, get a life.

Thank Youtube Your Account has been suspended, i hope in your suspension you learn not to be ignorant and to use PROPER ENGLISH, i cant understand you.

We are not retards, science shows that our IQ is higher than the normal mind, you are more likely to be a retard because you cant spell right and i cant even understand most of your words.

  • Sorry this was a reply to hardmancroxteth.

  • I know what you mean about staring at things. Sometimes I go to strip clubs and stare at hot naked teenage girls for hours. I dont understand it.

  • Meltdown. I like that way of putting it. I was looking for a word. I think norms tend to assume the extreme twitch/shake is painful. For me it is the opposite. It is one of those few moments my mind is blank and at peace.

  • Ok....question...I have Aspergers myself (just been told from the Doc I did) and have reserched it and stuff, but yet, I don't understand...

Why do they call Aspergers a mild form of Autisum?

I think it's a Personality and Interest type of thing....

To me....it's simply a few personality, social and hobbie/interest differences. No big deal.

It can happen to anyone, anyone, no big deal.

  • Girl I can tell you that it takes a lot of courage to even be able to speak about this, cus I know from my own experiences that ever since I knew that I had As I have been very introverted and been sorta shy to tell my friends about it, but thanks to you I have found the courage to be more open and to share my problems with my closest! So thank you!!!

  • I have AS, I was just watching Tourettes videos and reconized the similar URGES. For example people say they have to work up the nerve to do something whereas I have to calm myself down

  • I'm much the same way. When I get, as my therapist puts it, overstimulated, I have a meltdown. I freeze, then shake uncontrollably all over, and then tend to curl in a ball and rock back and forth to calm myself. I can't do anything when the meltdown hits.

Lots of things can trigger this, from noises that don't fit together, to seeing people going at different paces in crowds.

It's especially difficult when I'm in public.

  • i have AS myself, but i never obsessed over anything in particular, which is odd.

  • I dont know if i have aspergers but alot of thhings you have described i dodoes that mean i have aspergers or am i just being paranoid?

  • I know how you feel, but I really... have to say I don't want you to? haha. That's as sincere as I can possibly be, you know.

It's not our fault. You know that.

  • I'm going to read up on suicide techniques and see which one is the easiest for me to do. There is no way out of this hell except for death.

  • Please don't do that. There are people that love you and want you in this world. It's not your fault. Things will get better!

  • Color and politics have nothing to do with bullying and cruelty. People lash out at what they don't understand.

Death is the cowards way out.

If you are strong enough to admit you were bullied, and know they are no better than you, then you are NOT a coward.

My love life really didnt start to take off until I was 27. I went through hell and stuck it out, despite so few understanding me at all.

You can make a bigger difference by staying alive than by being a statistic.

  • just becuase you have it. dont use to to try to get sypmaphy. you give people with conditions like AS a bad name. and not just that but you talk shit dude!

  • I agree, I have aspergers I don't think it's bad. Sure it has it's downsides but I'm still a person! Eienstien and Jefferson had it. So I have worse symptoms then this person but that doesn't matter I love life

  • mozart also had it. and he was a musical phenomena

  • Really?? I didn't know that thanks!

  • yeah. he's was slightly worse than mine and he was still never the less nothing short of a phenomena

  • The people who bullied you.. don't have a life.

I am proud of having aspergers.

  • I have that

  • Hi, i am interested to know, what are your emotions when you are mezmerised....Such as when you thought it was 5 mins, but it was 1 and 1/2 hours. (Amazing) Is it something that you are consciously aware of? Is it pleasurable? When i get lost in something, i feel like staying in that moment forever, all problems and current issues, melt away. And i too need to be persuaded out of it....Hope you don't mind the questions.

  • I don't mind the questions at all. It's unconscious. As for feeling, there's really no feeling per se to it. The closest way I can describe the feeling is calm, numb, empty facination.

  • Thank you for posting this video. You are not alone.

  • Ihateaspies,

One more poor little whiner with no self esteem.

I know a lot of physically ugly people who are beautiful on the inside.

You are only ugly if the inside festers into ugliness.

Bye! You are worse than boring.

  • IHateAspies, go look everywhere else you have left dumb remarks. No one can stand you or your buddy Ad2080,like I said before, if people bother you, leave this site. You are nothing but a misserable piece of trash.I hope you get picked on as much as you pick on others. You seem to need a dose of your own medicine!Does they way some one look really matter? Only if you are 12 or thirteen years old! Grow up already!

  • Thanks for the support, Leahlambchops. You are great!

  • You are more than welcome! I am happy to help out. I check up on you all as often as I can. My son has PDD-nos and I love him so much. I hate to see any one getting picked on. It is uncalled for and mean. I thank you for noticing my comments! I'll probably talk to you again soon! Keep Smiling!

  • what if you had been diagnosed with AS at age 10. would the clinical picture of AS change as you would get older.

  • Not really, at least that is what my doc said when I asked the same question. The main thing that changes is the way we learn coping mechanisms to deal with getting around the querks. We learn ways of working with our differnce rather than trying to shut it away.

  • it never realy changes. its not like as you get older the symptoms change. from what i can see it becomes controlable to an extent. my father has aspergers(usualy where it originates. from the father)and he's in his 40's and he seems to find it managable

  • I bet you're another one of those WrongPlanet fucktards.

  • That's your problem, not mine.

  • AD2080, do you believe your a God or a Dr. of some sort, because you seem to think you can diagnose everyone by just a short video clip. You really like to get on here and waste your ( what you consider ) precious time. Seriously, go to bed. We don't care about a waste of life such as yourself.

  • You are only allowed to say things like this, ad2080, when you know what you are talking about. I doubt Albert Einstien, Thomas Jefferson, Nicola Tesla, Vernon Smith, Gary Numan, Robert Smith, Stephen Wiltshire, Satoshi Tajiri, and the list goes on, would agree.

  • Ad2080,as I have put in the other comment sections, you are hateful and your comments are uncalled for. You need to find something else to waste your energy on.If people make you that ill to want to send them to concentration camps, maybe you make us just as ill for being so stupid.

  • RaFBM. If not, GIFI or WIFI. with the eception of Thomas Jefferson, who was diagnosed postmortem based on his personal journals, All of the people on my list were medically and psychologially diagnosed. Take your ignorance elsewhere.

  • AD2080,Do you have a life other than sitting at your computer cutting down others? Bye bye now..We are tired of you.

  • Like you never make typos, geeze. Go read a book, AD2080. You are boring the hell out of me.

  • Like you've never made a mistake like that before in your life.

Just because you made one little mistake doesn't mean you're retarted.

  • go to hell, AD2080

  • Most people with Asperger's(like me) are very intelligent, asswipe.

  • Aspergers is just a disorder that is misunderstood. it's

something that you'll never be able to understand as well as I or Maddestofthemall can.

  • And you are a total asswipe AD2080

  • read a book, AD2080

  • Sure the cocksucker CAN read? ;-)

  • Drop dead AD2080 and then rot in hell

  • You're a female version of Peter Parker, Donnie Darko, and Harry Potter. You are probably good at linear algebra and vector math and mechanics and applied sciences.

  • Switching projects - Thats due to you being P type, having your primary function as a perceiving function.

Things in places, or else they don't exist - That's your fear of having to use your senses to search for it, because your intuition has it associated with a location so you don't have to scan new detail.

Going off on tangents - thats Ne, connecting ideas across contexts. You're fine!

  • Volume of voice - thats your weak Se, extroverted sensing function being unable to gauge your level of strength, you may be a bit binary in terms of force.

Mezmorization - Thats your strong intuition of potentials, Ne, cognitive function using the environment as a context anchor while recalling past patterns trying to match things. High aesthetics images will cause this more.

  • You are socionics ENTP-T subtype, relax.

  • I have been told that many (but by no means all) adults with Aspergers and some forms of Autism fall into that Jungian category. I like the way Jung sees disorders of this type more as a differnce in the human condition, and not nessesarily a disease.

  • You'd be surprised how much politics is involved, when you see the unique mathematical abilities of entp-t subtype you'll wonder why something that is good an unique is marginalized... but then you'll realize american society is entj based, and everything is designed around their tantrums and whims

  • Your tone of voice is very friendly, very naturaly modulated, balanced and almost poetic, which makes it pleasing to listen to. You'd be very successfull at public reading of poems

  • Thanks for the video. I did not know about Asperger's syndrome. Looking beyond the probs that come with the syndr you are a very interesting person to listen to although I would not be able to pinpoint why, it may be in your personality and you seem very honnest, why not do radio ?

  • Years ago, a friend of mine, nicknamed Grey Ghost, who was a DJ at a rock radio station constantly told me I had a great voice for radio and public speaking. I didn't pursue it because I get the jitters when speaking live.

  • I think your voice is pretty good...^^ I'd get nervous too though.

  • Thank you so very much for helping me to understand. I wish I could tell my friend that he has Aspergers but I fear he would disbelieve me and also become angry.

  • this sounds more like high functioning authism to me...

  • there's is big difference between Aspergers and HFA. There was a arguement between the two,

  • I think it is important for people to realize that they will do some of these things too. It doesn't mean he/she has asperger's. Mental illness isn't an illness till it affects your life and you can't function and do the things you have to do.

    Nice Video

  • it's like you explining me

  • Hi my name is Jonathan and I have asburgers, your video explains alot espcialy when things are miss plassed i stare and the spot where its supose to be for a while loosig track of time and when I go to look for it even tho i see it if its not in its correct place its takes awhile to find it.Thanks for video BTW

  • Same thing happens to me too.

  • thanks honny...my daughter is 17 and we have been having a lot of trouble with her and aal the doctors could not tell us what the problem is...you just did yhanks...you dont know what this means to us...she can do anything musical...sing pick up a musical she has never seen before and be playing it in 15 min...and a lot of other things...she can not got along with people her age...she cannot consetrate very long...

  • Thank you for explaining this to me. I am still a little confused so I will have to do more research. Again, thanks for putting this out there.

    xoxoxoxox,

    Eddie

  • Thanks for the great video. Aspergers seems very similar to OCD. Where does your mind go when you mesmerize? Just curious if you are aware that are staring or if it turns into a sort of daydreaming but unaware.

  • Sort of like daydreaming, but not really. I tend to start focusing on a small detail, then to the next small detail and so on. It's great for some things, like artwork, but horrible for general ordinary stuff.

  • Thank you for sharing your experiences with Asperger's. You are very couragious to open up about it. We have an 8 year old son who struggles every day with Asperger's and it can be very frustrating at times. We want to help him and be as patient as we can and sometimes we need to take a step back. Our son is our pride and joy and it pains us when we see him struggle. He's our main focus and we want him to be happy.

  • my little brother has been recentley diagnosed with aspergers, and i never knew that the double speak thing was connected to this, he always does this, and i never knew why, it was so confusing. also he becomes fascinated by things, so much that sometimes when you talk to him he won't even hear you. thanks for this video, it was very helpful.

  • Great video

  • Argh. The panic attacks when things aren't in their place!

I also find myself being mesmerized. If something catches my eye, light shining through glass, or reflecting off water etc., before I know it, a significant amount of time has passed without me even realizing it.

  • hehe..I remember my infancy organizing my socks by color (of course only shades of blue allowed) and also making my bed without any wrinkle and then fighting my brother when he made a mess with it

  • Thanks for making me realize how interesting the syndrom that you suffer from is! I learned a lot.

  • I have been diagnosed with aspergers syndrome & OCD, so I empathise with you, I think your very brave for taking the MIC and CAM & making a Vid. I think you have a lot of potential... pls make more vids, I will now subscibe to ya! (Hugs) - David from da UK.

  • an amazing video,

    so much i dident know.

  • check out the vids by jdplvy

  • I will, thanks for the heads up!

  • great video

  • Thanks. Your honest description of your condition is very informative.

  • Thank you! Im working with young girls with all types of mental problems. There is a new girl with aspergers and you told me some good information to know! Thanks again! :)

  • I am an aspie but I don't see that stuff as a gigantic problem. I guess I have overcome the problems. I'm also not very logical.

  • Well, I'm not logical in the sense of mathematics.

  • Thank you for posting this. You are a very brave woman!

  • Thanks! You are brave too!
