Most remakes are generic and commercial trash. There are some exceptions, but reaching the high level of the original RGU series seems unlikely.
The spiral that is discussed in this Utena song was studied by Jacob Bernoulli (and discovered by Descartes). What's interesting is that Bernoulli is related to the famous writer Hermann Hesse who originally wrote the Ōtori student council motto for one of his books. (They weren't blood-related, though).
The title (Translated: Spiral Mirabilus Theatre) refers to a mathematical equation, which is like the golden rule-a thing of beauty and perfection, only it's the golden spiral.
You know, that's really fitting, as Miki sees winning the duel and obtaining the Rose Bride as his equation for perfection-- A one-way ticket to his sunlight garden.
