I'm a Reason user with my ASR 10, my Akai MPK49 & my Mac. I love the look of the New Mpc's The studio and Renaissance,,,,, but do i really need them? I appreciate your point of view. Gives me something to think about. I heard the prices are 599 and 1299. Thanks for your point of view.
It actually simplifies my studio. It's like the Mpd32 and my interface all in one AND if I'm in the mood I can make something right on the thing itself without even looking at the computer. As an old hardware user turned software there is a certain zone I miss about hardware. This is a perfect solution. Hopefully the workflow is smooth. Price of course is e deciding factor. If worse comes to worse its STiLL a dope midi controller next step up from and mpd32
Learned on Mpc. Switched to FL with mpd32. I'm excited for the mpcr because it will integrate perfectly into FL. When I'm not in a "computer" mood I band something out real quick on it but since it's all. In the computer I can load itup right in FL and further add to it without having to export all my Mpc tracks as wavs or midi. You can run the mpcr as a vst in whatever program you are using.
hey what's up Na-ledge, agree with u all the way on making use of what u already have. By the way, checked out some of ur other videos man. Keep doing ya thang!! Word Up!
Back in the day we always found ways around the limitations of the machines wich spawned us to use them the way we do. In that process we craved more so they gave us more. I think the new MPC is designed for the MPC user who always craved more. I like Dj Premier take on serato. He said he believe it should be for dj's who have a 1k of records or more and who have paid there dues lugging around crates to perform. I feel that way about the MPCR.
@OverlorBeats - Thats the stupidest thing I ever heard "I like Dj Premier take on serato. He said he believe it should be for dj's who have a 1k of records or more and who have paid there dues lugging around crates to perform." - I say that because its like saying you should only buy a car if you have rode a horse for years.
Hey man, if it wasnt for the MPC Renny, I wouldnt have found your channel...I disagree with you on one point: every instrument has a sound, its up to you to find out how to express yourself through the limitations of the gear>>>you cant write a symphony with a rubber band and a cardboard box...So, GEAR DOES MATTER...All of us hardcore MPC guys have been waiting for this for years, a way to edit midi notes easier, a way to synch up the software to the hardware...
I used to be caught up in gear but after using software for so long I've realized that maschine , mpc renaissance arent needed! If you know how to eq then you can make any sound hot! Gimme a controller and daw and I'm good....but to each his/her own
My take on the Akai MPC Renaissance is that it is a toy for gear heads to drool over. As you stated if you already have a current setup that works for you and is doing its job why change it? Just so it can look cool? We shall see I guess
When R4 came out, I purposely unhooked my MP 2500 and forced myself to learn the application inside and out from the different functions of the devices to routing the sends and returns. Other than a nice vocal compressor and Pre-amp I see hardware as a waste of resources. Even then there are some very nice compressor plugins for many DAW's and in Reason as well.
I agree with you on this one. A little background for me is that I have owned the 60, 2000XL and the 2500 and my transition to software started with Reason 2.5. I had Pro Tools at the time but never used it to make music just track sounds from the MP to the Software. With Reason I was able to make them inside the computer and Rewire into Pro Tools on separate tracks and was blown away at how easy it was.
Akai MPC Renaissance priced at $1,499 and is equipped with 8 banks more than any other MPC in the past! 6GB of sounds as well as all MPC 3000 sounds! There will be available in 4-6 months waiting list will begin in 2 weeks be sure to get yours soon!
i feel u , i remember when the mv 8000 came out and i had a few friends that bought it, i had a mpc 2000xl at the time and they didn't know how to work it so i had to show them how to work the mv. most or all keyboards are emulated with reason or vsts u can rewire them into ur programs and u can make ur own drum kits and use any pad controller, i started with Akai i almost lost faith after the MPC 5000, imma give them another shot hopefully they got it right
Knowledge. What turntable do you use?

@sante1996 Question? With the MPD 32 can I just use FL studio edition to make beats from my own sounds? I like to sample from old records and sounds.
