Record? Who could afford that back in 1984?! We were just a bunch of musical friends in Highschool who got together to perform 3 songs for two performances for a talent show at school. It was a one off. Good thing the drummer's dad ran an event photography/videography company.
These negative comments... geez. Yeah, I came here hoping to see Rush playing Hemispheres too, but what I found is pretty cool. Someone's 80's high school adventure of playing a great Zep tune with his band in front of an appreciative crowd of classmates and doing it well. What a thrill that must have been for you. And it was actually documented on video! Thanks for sharing Mr. Sisto.
Gary's response to your nonsense might have been the best put down I've ever seen put to a Rush nerd. God forbid we take John Rutsey's name in vain!!! I'm sorry, but this band is pretty damn tight for a high school show. Tighter than Jimmy Page has been since 1975.
The only clips of the song I've seen on YouTube are from the '94 tour when Rush played the Preclude section. I've never seen footage of their performance on the Tour of the Hemispheres in '78-'79.
You guys sounded tight for a teenage band! I wasn't nearly that good at the guitar back in high school. At times it sounded very much like Jimmy playing.
This isn't bad. It brings back memories. Back in 1984 also, the band I was in at the time, performed this, along with "Rock and Roll" and "Celebration Day" at Carteret (NJ) High School's variety show. I also know that it was videotaped, but I'm sure that tape in long gone.
This is great! A fine piece of Middletown music history...did the group ever record?

What a fucking joke. How about labeling it as The Song Remains The Same cover and not as Hemispheres 1984? Oh yeah that would be too fucking simple.

Lemmee get this straight: Hemispheres can't play Hemispheres, but they can play Zeppelin tighter than Jimmy Page? Priceless. . .
Cash2112 3 years ago
Tighter than Jimmy Page? That was utterly fucking horrible. Wish it would have been Rush playing Hemispheres.
