  • What would I do if my jet ski cant get me out of the water? I'll be behind it with half my body underwater, swallowing water like no tomorrow, while the jet ski driver is flooring it. Help anyone?

  • @darkrider411 go behind a boat with more power

  • GIRLS START WITH BOTH FEET IN AND MEN DRAG ONE...SINCE AT LEAST 1958!

  • this video is helpful, why the fuck is it from expertvillage?

  • who are the fags disliking this?? its a popular method of getting up on a slalom whats there to dislike ? the guys hair ?

  • @ba77ar90 I know right!? Although after being on the lake long enough, the other way is so easy its second nature now.

  • i always keep both feet in the boot thenn lean back all the way and then depending on how powerful ur boat is just let the boat pull u up DONT try to pull ur self up

  • @MrMotoman84 yeah i do the same

  • so he has his lead leg in the boot, and his left leg is in the slot or not? i cant really understand him. i have been trying to start with both my feet in the "slots" but i keep falling over to the side after a few seconds of dragging. any tips?

  • @RSerimar What I do is just barely put my foot in the back boot to keep the front of the ski up as high as possible and then when the boat starts I just let it get pulled out from the back boot and drag it for balance.

  • @RSerimar This is probably coming to you to late but he's keeping his back foot out of the toe plate and dragging it. Its kinda like a rutter to help balance him in a sense. I dont do it myself but I hope it works out.

  • @Coloradokid15 thanks!

  • @RSerimar same happens to me.i was almost there then i swallowed some white water and fell to the side

  • well now i have an idea on how to FIX myself. this helped! thank you :) gonna try it in a couple days when i go back out.

  • @foaley77 It is correct that your boat driver should punch it. If you cant hold on you should probably sit back farther in the water because if you are leaning to far forward youll basically be dragiing your face through the water and it would definetly be hard to hold on. And if its an older boat you may need to stay in your tuck just a little longer so the boat can get to the speed you need for the ski to plane out, because im guessin the boat isnt quite as powerful as more modern boats.

  • what am i doing wrong wen my chest hurts

  • I tried getting up on one yesterday and could do it last time I did was about 14 years I have only got up once though is it best for the boat to take off slow? as when i did the boat driver went flat out and it was hard for me to hand on.

  • also the boat is a 350 chev about 20 years old

  • just about anyone should be able to get up on a 90 horse. i mean i was almost able to get up on one ski behind a 30 horse fishing boat

  • for the people that dont know if it is easier to get up on 1 ski or drop a ski. most guys have the strength to be able to get up on one ski. most girls have to drop. i cant stand dropping a ski so i just get up on one. like most of the girls on my ski team have to drop because they dont have the strength to get up out of the water on one ski. so if you are a girl and you have to drop dont feel bad cause most girls cant get up on one so they drop one.

  • wow, no offence but your ski team must suck! honestly if you dont have the strength to get up on one ski how are you going to do one handed turns around buoys? lol, most ppl start dropping a ski and then progress to deepwater slalom starts. I'm a guy and started droppin a ski around ten, and did deepwater starts around twelve. it's not a whole lot of strenght, mostly technique

  • i never said i couldnt get up. i can get up on one ski just fine. and my ski team is a show team so we dont go around buoys or anything like that. i learned to get up on one ski when i was about 10 and i am 14 now. its just most girls dont have the strength. i have been skiing since i was 4 so i think i know what i am talking about too.

  • when i first started sloleming i got up on 1 skii out of the water 2nd try. its not hard i hadnt been skiing for a year also. i had been wakeboarding not skiing

  • thats cool. the only reason i diddnt learn sooner was because the person that ran the ski team diddnt let kids try it. she only let the grown ups. but when i did learn i caught on pretty quick.

  • oh that sucks and is stupid becuase its alot easyer for kids to get up on one than adults.

  • yeah. it was only because most of the people in the team were her family so she favored them. like they let a 50 year old ski and diddnt let me in the show. but thank god she quit and no we have a new person in charge. and that person is my daddy! lol.

  • i'm with you, but sometimes you have to drop one if the boat doesn't have the power to get you up.

  • ski behind a 140 hp with one person in the boat

  • dude, i can get up behind a 90 horse power with 3 inthe boat. its just about technique

  • i dont doubt you can get up behind a 90 hp boat but you might be really light. even if you can get up behind a 90 hp boat if you want to progress and become really good you'll need a more powerful boat

  • @TommyP621 I was trying on a 220hp boat but for me I know im doing it wrong lol, I dont know what the trick is to it, you have any tips or tricks on how to get up on the skis?

  • I love to barefoot waterski not much on slalam waterskiing but I will do it. Great lesson

  • you can pretty much get out of the water on one ski behind any motor powered boat sometimes theres drag for a few seconds if the boat isnt very powerful but if you learn to do it on a less powerful boat it will be easy to get up on a really powerful one. i found that my boat took a while to get going up to speed and what made me get up fast was bending my back knee a lot so there wasnt as much drag. Oh and also take a big breath before the driver guns it since theres always water in ur face

  • Ya haha its not pleasant trying to wiggle your way up when a 40 hp or something is trying to yank you out of the water, its nice to have something with a lot of power. If you dont have a lot of horsepower than try taking your rear foot (if you dont use a double boot) out and dragging it beside like you were tandem skiing (two skis, sorry). I have gotten up on one ski behind a 20 hp boat, but that was a few years ago when I weighed like 100 lbs.

  • Is it easier to start with one ski or start with both and throw one away? Because it's kind of easy to balance if I throw away a ski, and I want to know if it's easier to start with one, thank you.

  • I found it easier to get up on two and when i felt comfortable I slowly drop the other ski and drag my foot behind until I was balenced.

  • it's easier to drop one ski, deepwater slalom starts are alot harder. I started doing one ski drop offs when I was ten and mastered deepwater starts a couple years later

  • I did it today with a 50hp evinrude e-tec, and 3 ppl in the boat.. no it shouldnt be a problem

  • I go behind a 115 Merc strapped to a 17 foot starcraft. I'm about 190 pounds and I find it best to kick off the bottom right when the driver gasses it. Otherwise I drag until the propwash hits and then pop right up. Wish I had a bit more power...

  • love how everyone keeps asking about boats. you could really ski behind anything. jetskis, pontoons pretty much anything that has a motor. you dont need the best boat in the world. i have a ski boat so i dont really know how the other boats work but i have seen people ski behind all kinds of boats.

  • NO! I would rather saw my ski in half before skiing behind a jetski. ok thats an exaggeration but honestly, it makes me sad when I see people slaloming behind a jet ski, as for a pontoon that is just degrading for the ski. think about your ski next time you do that. and how degrading it must be to be pulled behind an annoying little toy or the minivan of the water

  • lol yeah it probably does suck to ski behind those. i personally have never done it because i have a professional ski boat. and one time a jetski tried to pull a 300 pound boy and it doesnt work so it is kinda pointless to try and ski behind a jetski if you weigh more than lets say 100 pounds. and i totally agree with you it would suck to ski behind them. its just some people cant afford a actual ski boat. so thats all they have. but i dont think the ski really cares.

  • learn how to get spray and atleast cross the wake!!!!!

  • got a 60 hp its fine nigs. but i have a 17 foot alluminum. :p light as paper

  • It's really not that hard. I just do it with both feet on the ski, i think that's easier than with only one foot. You need quite a big engine though. My boat has got 130 horse power and holds six people. However in order to get up on one ski there can only be like 2 or maybe 3 people in the boat.

  • i have a 225 horse power. is that enough?

  • yeah that should definately do it. but it also depends on the boat type. you need one that accelerates quickly. but you can only find out by trying right ;)

  • mine does accelerate great. ty for the advice.

  • no man you need 51598456hp to get up, of course its enough

  • my 115hp pulls me out of the water with no problem, and i weigh 200lb. that's with 2 people in the boat.

  • think i'll never manage-.- how big egnine is needed to get someone up on one ski?

  • if there was only like 2 light people in the boat you could maybe do it with an 75-100, i have a 200 and it works good, but as long as u dont weight too much a boat with less horse power will work

  • i did it yesterday with a 40hp and one in the boat (:

  • it took me a long time to get it. i found that you really have to get the right angle.
