The spore galactic edition, supposedly, will allow players to create and share custom missions, and also allow players to actually explore planets on foot, and even allow players to possibly have fleets of ships rather than just the one...

maxis seems to me tho to be worrying more about money than what the fans actually want tho...

you guys have to remember this is a game by MAXIS. Maxis is awesome BUT they all about money. A lot of the kool stuff that WAS going to be in the release of Spore, still might be coming out EVENTUALLY.

The way Maxis works is usually release a good base game then release tons of expansion packs for it. The 'Flora Editor' that many of you are disappointed about not being included may appear in one of those.

I still believe though that Spore is by far the most advanced game Ive ever played.

What a fail. I waited 2 years, and i get half of what it was suppose to be. Now thier talking expansion packs for what should have been in the original game. Im not going to pay for that. Spore could have been so much more.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. I was expecting Spore to be.. a bit more. I don't think you should be limited to 9 animals in one planet at one time, or 9 flora at one time, either. I don't like the terraforming. It just seemed so much funner in the demo. I'm not saying it isn't fun, hell, it's great. It's just that it could have been so much more. I myself was really looking forward to the creature stage... it was such a let down.

I didn't like the creature stage that much. I was expecting to be going around in a beautiful environment. I was expecting to be able to stay underwater and explore the deep. I was expecting to be able to drag around the corpses of my victims. I was expecting it to be a lot more gory. Also, I can't believe they took out the flora editor. This is so hard to accept.

I DONT play random shoot em ups. The problem with Spore was that it was overhyped. But I mean SO overhyped that no amount of greatness in it could ever satistfy. People thought it was going to be the game of the century. EA never said it was going to, and Will Wright himself said he thought the game was too overhyped, he's have to say it sucked just to de-hype it.

By gory, I meant just a little bit more violent. I dunno, maybe it's my graphics card, but the fact remains I was expecting more.

you evolve your creature through several stages:

cell stage where you have to eat and grow.

creature stage where you interact with other species either by eating them or making them kind of allies and evolve to get stronger by adding several bodyparts to your creature.

Then you get a consciousness (your brain slowly grows during creature stage)

you enter tribal stage where you're tribe must destroy rival tribes or make them allies.

Then civilization stage where your tribe has grown into a city with vehicles and buildings to increase your money income. Here you must also destroy/convert/buy rival cities so you rule the entire planet. After that you get the ability to build spacecraft.

Space stage is the last stage as far as i know and is incredibly detailed. You must make money either by selling spices made by your empire or by completing a variety of missions for your or other factions. Colonize other solar systems/planets

There is a feature in-game called sporepedia that is where all the creations are shared and then it is added onto your game and you play with other players creatures, world etc. And of course, you can create your own.
