i dont wanna send an email but if anyone is wondering its because of the cyntrifical force created by the spinning wheels.
creating that gyroscopic effect wanting to keep the bike upwright. although there still would probably be an awkwardness of riding a bike on a tred mill such as if you just slightly go off it, or hit the front panel or fall off the back. or even break the treadmill.
I don't understand why it shouldn't work, I mean, the only thing you'd have to do is cycling as fast as the treadmill (the conveyor belt) is "moving" . If you go faster or you slow down, you'll fail.
Its less to do with the gyroscopic effect of the wheel and more to do with shifting your center of gravity (notice wheel size here) When you are moving, you can quickly alter your center of gravity to compensate for any lean. Say if you start leaning to the left slightly, you will automatically twitch the handlebars to the left also which will push you outwards and put you vertical again, this happens instinctively once you have learnt to ride, and this is why we don't notice ourselves doing it.
Its simple because think abought it the faster you go on a bike the easyer it is to stay up this is because whent the tire a sining ythey are incredibly hard to move side to side you can try this by taking a bike tire and spin it now thats its sping in your hand try to move it sid to side and you will find that its very hard.Thats How a bike Stays upright.
well, seing how the wheels on a plane dont provide any drive forward and all movement is done by the rotor blades, the treadmill wouldn't have any effect on the plane.
im sorry to say that your the retard here. the wheels on the plane are spinning completely independant of the rotor. the wheels are simply spinning freely. the plain would take of exactly the same, exept the wheels would be spinning double the speed.
how could possebly me saying the plane would take of exactly the same proove you right when you said it would burn more fuel?
it would take of exactly the same because the wheels are completely unrelated with the rotorspeed. the wheels are spinning freely, thee wouldnt be a differance dipshit.
well your halfway right, they did say the plane relies only on the engine, and that the wheels are spinning freely, but because of that, it could take off, seing how the wheels and the engine move independently. ill give you that, not many people would do anything else than dennying they were wrong, and for that, you have my respect.
it's posibble because when youre moving each part of the wheels make little contact with the ground, and in this case treadmill, its the same as jumping on one foot is easier than balancing
lol, it did not work cycling on a treadmill, what would happen when you were cycling with a wind that went in the direction you happened to be cycling, and it was blowing at the same speed as you? it has clearly got to do with the moving of your legs and stuff, and the wheels moving along the ground. sure the gyroscopic stuff from the rotating wheels has an effect as well, but not too much unless you were to let go of your hands.
at :17 he has a pic behind his left shoulder but at :22 he has a dummy........i dont understand the logic behind using one place for 5 secs. and another for 5 secs.

im betting that it is caused by its angular momentum.
dont know why but it's the logical explanation in my head.
it's already 5:30am so i may be half sleep right now.
good night everyone :)

@lunarknightlucian No it's not. It's because your shifting your center of gravity by steering.

@computerfusselchen But, in theory, only the wheels are moving, you aren't. so you should fall.

Why wouldn't this work... you keep your balance by adjusting your steering wheel constantly... why would that be different on a treadmill.
Muscleduck 2 years ago
can u do it on an old treadmill not electrical?
killerhobo97 2 years ago
But would a plane manage to take off on a treadmill, which moves at the same speed as the plane?
Dark5age 3 years ago
Mythbusters has done that :) and it can
Kilithaza 3 years ago 18
yeah their experiment was a pure failure that didn't prove anything

course it woldnt coz the air isnt moveing over the wings
willjpsmith 3 years ago 3
well, seing how the wheels on a plane dont provide any drive forward and all movement is done by the rotor blades, the treadmill wouldn't have any effect on the plane.
gravizt 2 years ago
a plane needs air speed to take off . if there is no air speed the wnigs generate no lift so no take off
for a plane to take off a treadmill the rotor blades would need to move faster to counter act the tread mill
it wouldnt make any dfferance to the speed of take off but the plane would burn more fuel working agaist the treadmill fucking reatard
willjpsmith 2 years ago
im sorry to say that your the retard here. the wheels on the plane are spinning completely independant of the rotor. the wheels are simply spinning freely. the plain would take of exactly the same, exept the wheels would be spinning double the speed.
fucking retard
gravizt 2 years ago
thats wa i sed a plane would still take off and its ground speed would be the same
and the rotor blades would have to turn faster because of the friction on the wheels
so u said what i said was right dipshit
willjpsmith 2 years ago
how could possebly me saying the plane would take of exactly the same proove you right when you said it would burn more fuel?
it would take of exactly the same because the wheels are completely unrelated with the rotorspeed. the wheels are spinning freely, thee wouldnt be a differance dipshit.
gravizt 2 years ago
so your saying theres no friction what so ever between the wheels and the plane
willjpsmith 2 years ago
im saying the friction between the wheel and the plane is so small it doesent make a differance!
gravizt 2 years ago
but its still there so i win
suck it bitch
willjpsmith 2 years ago
i seriously hope that you do realize that the speed of the wheel doesent effect the friction.

mythbusters tried it the thing was busted it cannot fly by a treadmill
MrLastlived 2 years ago
uhm, the result of the mythbusters test was that it COULD take off from a treadmill.
gravizt 2 years ago
i thought they said it couldnt that the plane relied on only the engine the wheels were only so that it could land and take off easily
MrLastlived 2 years ago
well your halfway right, they did say the plane relies only on the engine, and that the wheels are spinning freely, but because of that, it could take off, seing how the wheels and the engine move independently. ill give you that, not many people would do anything else than dennying they were wrong, and for that, you have my respect.
