@mrHckyfan Sorry, I must have misread that part, but the facebook groups aren't about hatred, in fact, the VPD has been encouraging the upload of riot photos in order to ID and identify rioters. They have expressed gratitude for the clean-up that followed and the masses of notes and presents that they received from citizens. Are you suggesting that rather than trying to restore our city and pride, we just let others deal with the mess and not try? THAT, would make us just as bad as the rioters.

@SxanRR Pretty sure that's a flashbang. But it looks like it goes off in 2 stages which you can see cuz it's in slo-mo. It hits his groin, and explodes in front of him, but that's not the flash. It's either distracting pyrotechnics to get people to look at it, or it burns off the shell portion that protects the flash holes. You can see the flashbang after the explosion at 0:14 fall to the left (smoke trail) off screen and then the flash goes off at 0:17 . Then the people in the back react to it.

@KuraMad2000 : Put this in Youtube's search box and you'll see a real flash bang - DZM8Mq9ll1g - Note the lack of a pillar of smoke coming out of it after it goes bang, then notice the cloud coming out of the canister in this video., That "explosion" you're talking about is just the fuse hitting the main powder like a firework does.

Still a funny ass video, but cops aren't using flash bangs on outdoor crowds....

@SxanRR Yeah you know, I wonder if you might be right. I found this video cULRKv33Pu0 and these tear gas canisters also cause a flash. I don't see the pyrotechnic like in the vancouver video, but that could just be cuz it's at normal speed, or a different design from the ones the israelis use. A longer video of this would probably settle whether it was a flash or teargas if the extended video shows whether the canister continues releasing smoke or not.
