A regular old car can carry 4 people and travel for many miles. A cheetah can only run at max speed for 20-30 seconds. The efficiency of muscle is about 10-20%. etc etc etc.

But yes big cats are awesome and so is the rest of nature . Sadly I fear the cheetah is too specialised to survive is such a rapidly changing world.

I know that just about every new car nowadays can easily reach 60 miles per hour and lots more, but not all of them can get there in 3 seconds, it takes a supercar to do that. Yet a cheetah can pull it off with ease. Also, I realize that a car is much different when it comes maintaining fast speeds for long periods at a time compared to a cheetah, I was merely making a point that it took us years to reach that.
