  • R.I.P. Knut

  • not only human get depressed, also animals...sad...

  • so meny people was for hem big stress maybe

  • he is gone because he is polaar bear

  • look me too!this is unfair!knut died without anyone knew!stop making fun of it

  • people are making fun of this

  • @WolfGirl00001 people are making fun of this and its not funny i seen two videos making fun of this and i got mad really mad!

  • This bear may have been lonely and sad, but that deffo did not kill him. Loneliness does not make you start walking in circles shaking and losing control of your limbs before having massive convulsions, fitting, falling over and drowning. This bear's brain was genuinely ill, either from virus, infection or disorder. He would have died wether in captivity or in the wild, it's just unfortunate he didnt have any known fits or convulsions to trigger alarm bells before the one that killed him.

  • Knut missed his Papa, died of long term depression and heart broken.

  • Somehow, I got quite pissed at what the activist said...

first, they had blamed the zoo for hand-raising the baby polar bear when it got rejected by it's mum. stating things like they should not be kept in captive... do they want it to die?...

later, when the the star died, they blame it on the zoo again... what's going on with wanting to CONSERVE the animals, and yet at the same time not allowing captivity which MIGHT allows them higher chance of survival

  • if he was raised by humans, surrounded by them from when he was a baby, of course he'd miss them in some way. they're like parents to him. of course he'd go mad ):

  • No matter how many times I watch this I can't help but feel profound saddness at the thought of these beautiful animals being captive for 30 years. At least Knut is free now.

  • sad:( you just can't keep an animal who should be free in two worlds. It made him miserable. RIP cute Knut and Tom.

  • He died of Virus Infection to the brain. :(

  • RIP Knut. =(

  • but I saw him lying there and to the shot instead of helping are fucking murderers ....

  • KNUT MURDERERS ... killed ... I wish and go to jail ..!......

    ASESINOS...Mataron a a KNUT...Ojala y vayan a la carcel..!!

  • ASESINOSSSS...Matarona a este hermoso oso, ojala y vayan presos...!!

  • rip little one

  • Knut saw Meg Griffin in the crowd and decided to jump backwards onto an oncoming truck

  • @hfontanez98 We all know that was sunshine bear

  • wat did he die of?

  • @moletfrog12 He had a brain infection, and it caused him to lose control of his body. He fell into the water and he drowned. They say that the brain infection itself would have caused his death sooner or later.

  • awh

  • everything PETA says is bullshit!!!!

  • @tigawv i bet peta was not nearly as zealous to report the real cause of death and eat crow on that bullshit confinement induced madness slanderous assholes

  • Gangstaz are dont cry... but... this is .... heart breaking... T-T

  • Seriously? all this shit because of a polar bear, probably hundreds of polar bears and other animals die every year and no one fucking cares, why the fucking are this people crying about it? oh and if you think he was lonely why woulndt you go play with him? so he can fuck you up with those freaking huge claws!

  • @ptsoldier asshole.

  • @ptsoldier Knut is the cutest polar bear. Mind your own business, bastard.

  • @mischsaysrawr every bear looks the same why is this one cuter then the others? you bear racist or wtf are you

  • @ptsoldier I care you fu*&ing wanker

  • @tylerjoan1 And i bet you even go to the south or north pole to help them right? you can care wtf you want but if you dont do shit you might aswell shut up...

  • @ptsoldier mmmh,ARE U SO STUPID to not understand that if a dog that i've seen a lot of times dies i might feel a bit sad?it doesn't matter if thousands of dogs die every year.do u know the meaning of affection?u probably don't....idiot

  • @geiuy lol do you search for old comments to call people stupid? Thats answer was just stupid i know what affection means and thats why I do not care if you die or not :)

  • he could have gone crazy cause of his owners death :(

  • The Death of any polar bear is sad. Specially at only 4 years old. I wish my videos at the Detroit Zoo's polar bear exhibit had a beautiful bear like Knut as an edition to the beautiful bears they already have.

  • It was terrible that he had to die... :'(

  • fucking mormon adds.... YOU DID NOTHING TO SAVE KNUT YOU DAMNED MORMONS

  • So you raise a bear soley with humans, then suddenly stop interacting with him, then act suprised when he loses it

  • at 1:38 he is either waving or hailing hitler

    i think he is waving

  • death of a legend

  • its better for him that he is dead his life was very sad that is the reason why i never visit him i dont like the zoo in berlin i like the animal park in berlin its much better than the zoo ^^

  • Man this is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. You can tell in a lot of this footage he just wants to interact with the people that are around him. Just the thought that he might have died of loneliness in a sense is heart-breaking.

  • @jarjarbanks22 I'm agree with you, he seemd like he wanted to interact with others, wanted to play with them instead there was a glass wall and he was alone, poor young bear :'(

  • @jarjarbanks22 Worst thing was, Knut died at age four, and as they said in the video, most polar bears live to 20 or 30 years.

  • got that from hangover 2 btw...lol

  • R.I.P. albino bear

  • WHAT?? he's dead :(????

  • Someone should've come and save him :(

  • "Kunewt"

  • Wacko, frog-kissing, selfish, agenda-pushing, attention-starved, turkey-huggers P.E.T.A. Here in Knut's death, they discover yet another excuse for putting their deceptive, ignorant, mean and rude false theorys & beliefs on their handmade pedestal, insisting that they are right, and everyone else is just DEAD WRONG.

  • Whoops PETA, turns out it was a virus that caused a seizure, not some silliness about being driven insane by being confined...typical PETA B.S., geeze.

  • At least Knut is with his keeper now...

  • da zoo director bernhard blaszkiewitz is a fucking ashole he took the names of Knut + Thomas Dorflein in vain saying that knut was more a nussiance 2 da zoo because he said Knut turned the zoo into an amusement park + he instantly said that Dorfleins death was as a result of his heavy smoking + many girlfriends and that it was stupid to say he had died of a broken heart after being forced 2 seperate from Knut by blazkiewitz also that ashole is sending knut 2 da museum 2 be stuffed. RIP Knut

  • Thats so sad. Capitivity was driving him crazy.. hello the signs are his pawing and head nodding and he couldnt even be with humans? What a shame. His only owner has passed away too. What a shame.. I thought zoo's keep animals safe and healthy. Let them go obviously. RIP KNUT

  • @K1TKatGurl Since he died of encephalitis (brain inflammation due to an infection) it's hard to say if the swaying was part of it.Zoo keepers are usually zoologist, basically people that have the knowledge. However...it's a very hard topic cuz even if this bear couldn't bear captivity ,they couldn't let the bear die in the wild. I wanna believe the zoo keepers cared it's just that...how do can teach a wild polar bear to survive in the wild.Easier said than done. The only thing they could do is

  • @K1TKatGurl give him a shelter, enrichment, food and companions (other polar bears).

  • Knut died from drowning due to encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), caused by an infection,. The infection was caused by a virus. Why this wasn't picked up by the keepers sooner makes question how reputable the Berlin Zoo really is. Now they are going to stuff his remains and put him on display at a museum. Poor, poor animal. A life behind glass, dying a long and painful death, and now his body is going to be stuffed for display! RIP Knut

  • what I think was with all the weird movements he was doing is he was trying to say or rather show that he is harmless and want out of captivity and spend time with people cuz he's used to and loved being around people freely and on camera when theres no people he just looks depressed and doesnt act like a polar bear in a zoo but when there are people he tries to get much attention. all that pressure in his mind including thinking what he did wrong to be caged lead to brain damage, I may be wrong

  • FUCK YOU FOR PUTTING ADS ON THIS VIDEO.

  • @winnlamp

    CBS CAN CONTRACT AIDS.

  • @winnlamp have u got an idea of how much it most cost to mantain utube?are u so stupid to not undertand that if there where no ads it wouldn't be free?stupid dumb kid

  • Sorry to direct this elsewhere, but my first girlfriend and I loved Knut. But all things must come to an end, whether good or bad. Knut=obviously good. My first relationship=you get the idea.

  • How's the stupid Dr. Debbye Turner Bell? She's a disgrace providing support yo the zoos. You unethical person. I say shut down all the zoos and protect all animals in the world.

  • It wasn't a mysterious death actually. Maybe to all the stupid, ignorant humans it was mysterious.

Knut died because it's caretaker that reared him up died a couple of years earlier and it got lonely like it had lost its mother. It also needed a lot larger area ato live.

Stupid humans always kill the beautiful things of this world.

  • @spielberg01 Amen Thank you for this. what honest words..

  • damn PETA, he's not driven mad... several polar bears have spent over 8 years in captivity and they're fine...I believe he might just be a "special" bear thats why he was shunned... definitely aneurysm

  • @MikroBadass But he was the ONLY polar to have ever been raised so closely by humans. That makes him a little different situation.

  • @eg463665 he was rejected by his own mother at birth... that's an indicator that the mother sensed he was "different" I should know I've observed my hamster population out of the 4 litters my mother hamster had she had shunned about 3 I looked at them to see what was wrong and it turned out that they had limb deformities or they definitely had an internal affliction (respitory, heart, etc,) animals can definitely tell what's wrong with each other

  • The necropsy showed Knut officially died from drowning while having a seizure, but was the seizure was caused by encephalitis (swelling in the brain) secondary to an infection. The vets said that even if he hadn't fallen in the water he would not have survived.

  • Knut,I love you and I will miss you dearly

  • Knut,I love you and I will miss you dearly

  • bye bye knut, das ist so träurig :((

  • wow, i'm depressed now :(

  • Dr. Debby Turner Bell how would you like it if you spent four year of your life behind bars?

  • has anyone considered that maybe his heart was broken since his best friend died?

  • i cried... im a guy

  • I dont agree with the theory his mum knew there was something wrong from the start, in knut and friends the guy said its probably because of her troubled past working in a circus. Plus remember knut had a twin that she rejected, does this mean that he had a brain disorder as well?

  • @j8t0w

Well, if they were twins it would almost certainly have the same defect

  • @StayGoldHC Ive just read that the pathologists reckon he had the brain abnormality for weeks or even months, not from birth. In saying that if you look up encephalitis it has a load of preliminary symptoms and advanced symptoms, including siezures which knut must have and did suffer from, yet they're trying to say he showed no signs of being ill. I dont believe them for a minute.

  • Jack Nicholson warned him.

  • I think that knut's mom dodn't reject hem for nothing. Animals know when somthing is wrong with there offspring and let mother nature do her thing.

  • I hate zoos I know Knut got rejected by his mom but I hate zoos why the FUCK do they take animals from other country's leave them at their habitat

  • "HURR SOME ANIMAL THAT IS FAMOUS DIED, LETS GET OUR ASSES OVER THERE AND MAKE UP BULLSHIT!"

when any other polar bear dies they don't give two flying fucks

  • :c

  • its just a polar bear

  • @rangesaded Screw you knob

  • Did they even see this video???????

    v=3qg4vJ-AwzA

He wasn't in the water one minute and then gone the next, he made himself dizzy after circling and then fell into the water.

    Very sad. :-(

  • @s9991 so thats why he was twitching right? He most likely had a seizure or a brain defect.

  • I dunno, but I want one.

  • Zoos are shit.

  • @stretchmorgan your shit.

  • @MattWeldt I think you mean 'you are shit'.

  • @stretchmorgan 2 camels in a tiny car.

  • Knut looks very healthy and very happy when Thomas his 'Daddy' was by his side..

Maybe his brain problems was caused by many cryings for him?..

  • he had a seizure.. he had epilepsy

  • Knut died, but Vicks is alive.

  • @reigetje Yeah and so is Dick Cheney.

  • @CUNTservativesRDung Is Dick Cheney also shown in Blijdorp Zoo at Rotterdam and if he is, must I look for him among the polar bears or is he a subject of Bokito, the alfa-gorilla?

  • He suddenly collapsed? There's a amateur video of his death and then you see he was turning a lot of times and everytime he walked more difficult, and then he fell. didn't they already noticed that there was something wrong before he fell?

  • And P3NIX you sound a proper twat!!

  • This is so sad....Poor thing:(

  • Comment removed

  • @P3NIX nah ur a retard and a sick fuck, you were probably a failed abortion. Twat

    RIP Knut

  • Sad.

  • i teared up when i heard about this

  • PETA's theory just pisses you off...

  • awhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so sad al qaeda kill him lets bomb a new country

  • ITS a HAARP

  • FUCK THE EVIL CORPORATION and peta

  • DAMN YOU GLOBAL WARMING!!!! DAMN YOUUU!!!!

  • @P3NIX

Don't kid yourself. He was an international animal star, millions loved him. By the way, learn to spell it is "sinner". Idiot

  • @Boonze96 I DONT CARE IF MILLIONS OF SINNERS LOVE HIM CUZ KNUT WAS A FALLEN SOUL AND THAT Y HIS MOM REJECTED HIM AND THAT Y GOD HAS STRUCK HIM DOWN

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @P3NIX You are either an idiot that likes trolling or a complete and utter retard. My guess is probably a mixture of the two. I hate when people leave stupid comments on videos.

Poor Knut, that's sad that he died so young.

  • @Haeinscute NO UR THE RETARD AND UR DUBBLE RETARDED 4 THINKS THAT IT IS SAD CUZ ITS GOD WILL AND U MUST RESPECT THAT

  • @P3NIX No, no it's not moron and learn how to spell, I've seen 3 year olds that have better grammar than you. Go back to school and get educated before you try to talk again.

  • PETA kills more than 90% of the animals they claim to "rescue".

    FACT.

  • @BluntCommentGuy i would like to see proof

  • Oh yeah PETA can go Fuck themselves, because again he died of a brain disorder which explains his odd behavior.

  • Now we know why he died a brain disorder it had nothing to do with him living in a Zoo, of course these facts don't matter to groups like PETA who are actually the cause of more animal deaths. Remember Knut for the short life he lived touching millions around the world rather than how he died..

  • RIP KNUT! you have no idea how much everyone will miss you): <3

  • @aliceinwonderlaland you're right i miss him :( the famous polar bear R.I.P knut

  • I can't believe those animal activists have the guts to blame the zoo for Knuts death. If it wasn't for the zoo, he would have died like his twin brother 4 years ago.

    This is truly sad news.

  • From watching the video, Here is what I thought:

He DID have a convulsion, its an unavoidable fact!!

But it is possible that he could have hit his head VERY hard as he fell into the water. Because I think he would still be thrashing around a bit to save himself after he fell.

In the video, you see some splashes as he fell, but they died out within 3 sec. and there was no other movements from him. And thats when the zoo visitors KNEW something was wrong.

So I think its a combination...

  • PETA is a terrorist group look the shit up

they burned down a univeristy of michigan reasearch lab

  • @jonbowman12345 Michigan State, not U of M.

  • @jonbowman12345 Michigan State, not U of M.

It looks like his death was brain related. His leg started twitching, his mouth was foaming, he started convulsing then he collapsed. If PETA people are saying it was due to mistreatment I say BS. Unless it was poisoning of some sort.

I wouldn't put it past PETA to poison one bear to help the others.

  • @jonbowman12345

Were PETA prosecuted and convicted of that arson attack? Please post a link. Or is it just an ill informed piece of propoganda you are trying to spread?

  • He was well taken care of and loved by all who cared for him. Every time something unusual happens there are those who have the need to place blame.

  • Mad from confinement? These PETA people are clueless and need to shut the hell up!

  • Very interesting-- his mother knew from the beginning that this would happen.

  • Comment removed

  • And where were the zookeepers? They all "conveniently" disappeared.

  • he had some type of seizure or stroke, fell into the water and drown. not because of mistreatment or abuse by the zoo.

  • I think he had a defect that humans can't see, probly a mental defect. It explains why his mom abandoned him to die & all 3 Female bears shunned him. Then he just mysteriously drowns while in good health. There are humans who look fine on the outside but have a screw loose in the head. It makes sense that some Bears are also born w/ brain defects.

  • @MeistroBlue well i guess nature is fair. even he had a defect, he still the cutest polar bear on earth

  • @MeistroBlue There was a video that showed since his mother was violent towards him, he had to drag his hind leg to walk, then he got a spaz attack, (his head was contantly shaking), and he fell ino the water. :(

  • @MeistroBlue theyre found out his brain wasnt all normal too. :(

  • @MeistroBlue I think you might be wrong, I think the death of Knut died due to a bad case of heartbreak because of the death of his trainer. You might think it's crazy to think animals dying due to heartbreak but when an elephant finds a mate and it dies the widow sometimes won't eat and just won't stand up and it dies. Due to a bad case of heartbreak.

  • Did CBS ever show the actual death?

I didn't get to see the whole video bc my phone froze up. Its was captured on video & I wanted to see how it happened. Pussy ass CBS.

  • Cba reading all these comments, but i saw another vid that said he died from 'a brain disorder' ?

  • The water is absolutely filthy. The water in what would have been his natural environment was surely much cleaner than this. Perhaps it was an infection caused by the nasty conditions he lived in.

  • gone too soon

    rip knut

  • @incostirva Gone too late, actually... he should have died at birth as he was intended. Totally not meaning to sound that harsh but this is not what Nature intended.

  • The water looked dirty, and from the videos I've seen of him, his behaviour does not look normal. I think his mother sensed there was something wrong, animals can do that, I'd be interested to see what comes out of this after the necropsy.

  • Clearly, Knut had a seizure (as evidenced by his circling), fell into the pool, and (tragically) died. He probably had undiagnosed epilepsy or a brain lesion. So, so sad.

  • @sphatnik Definitely a seizure. If you look at the video, he was making repeated mechanical motions over and over, then started drooling and shaking.

  • We won't know what happened until the necropsy results comes back. I saw the video also and was very sadden. Knut will be missed!

  • I WATCHED this video . CLEARLY THE BEAR HAD WHAT IS CALLED A PARTIAL ABSENCE SEIZURE . THAT IS 100% CERTAIN TO ANYONE WHO HAS CARED FOR PEOPLE OR ANIMALS THAT HAVE SEIZURES

  • @ Bill: My thoughts exactly. Seizure or brain lesion. I can't imagine why this veterinarian wouldn't know that!

  • @sphatnik nor can i understand how doctors have not just watched this and seen it was a seizure. i wouldamyself jumped in that water if i saw that going on. sadly i was not there. one of the most odd thins on this matter is peta saying the bear went mad from being in the zoo. come on people

  • @bill739 Was it tonic or clonic? I can never remember the difference.

  • Maybe just had a stroke?

  • @mmoch No. If he had a stroke, he would have had weakness on one side of his body and not been able to move or hold himself up on one or both limbs. Head would have also been tilted to one side.

  • This is tough to bear, poor animal.

  • I'm going with the mad angle. He was raised around humans, and grew attached to them in such a way, that he became dependant on their proximity. So when he's thrown into a single exhibit of his own, without the interactivity of humans around him, the long term depression may have had a big effect on him physically.

Epilepsy might also be another plausable theory.......

  • Most Zoo's have pair of bears not just one.

  • he had a seizure

  • With the tens of thousands dead last week from the Japanese Tsunami, all the media cares about is a dead polar bear? Shame, shame.
