Why are we knocking Catholics. What is wrong with reciting scripture? you can do it over and over again without it being mindless. I gives us a good place to frame our prayers and to teach others how to pray. I still say the Lord's prayer regularly and think about everything I am saying as I do, really meaning it.

Bravo, guys! It always strikes me as sadly ironic when I hear groups of Christians, in public, at church, mindlessly and repetitively reciting the Lord's prayer verbatim. The irony comes in the two verses which precede the prayer, Mat 6:7-8, “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. “So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." Thanks for the example :)

@TheApostleP While I may not have the grace to say my own beautiful prayer to God, that does not mean I don't mean every word I say in the Lord's Prayer. In other words, try not to judge others who may be more pious than you are! I certainly wish I had that kind of discipline! Peace, brother <3

@innternal I was in no way judging others, rather observing the practice of tradition, and applauding the message of this video. It's above my pay grade to know the hearts of individual believers. Our Father desires close personal fellowship with me and all His children... through prayer. The Lord's Prayer is beautiful, but don't devalue the words of your own heart, dear brother. Our own true words in prayer, regardless of beauty and grace, are the sweetest aroma to Him. Grace and Peace :)
