i maintain that portia is of a certain level intelligence due to having been to law school (a pretty objective indicator), neither of us are able to discern whether she is vapid as we do not know her. this is supported by the fact that ellen, whom u say is of so much character, so wld very possibly be a good judge of chacter, chose portia as her "right piece", and thus portia is probably not an empty-vessel as u ficticiously claimed.
