  • I'm always so boggled by how you do the metalworking and gilded trimming on your art. Teach me plx! <3

  • i was just wondering, how you do that box/selection thing, where you take part that you've already drawn and move it around/adjust it?

  • @Rokshii lasso/selection tool (:

  • shilin.. ;w;... is.. SO... AMAZIIINNGGG!!!... especially with all that detail. TTwTT!! Blackbird/Carciphona = epic FTW!!!! ;w;..

  • I was wondering if it was hard to color your lineart when they're all on one layer, or are they on different layers?

  • @pandafangirl they're on different layers.

  • @shilinTV Thank you for replying back :D

  • Thanks for share this video,it's useful learn to draw. :)

  • Hi, shilin :) great art! I have something to ask, is it possible to do lineart in photoshop? What kind of tool should I use? I am not familiar with SAI :D Thank you so much!

  • @sophie3howl it's the same, just use a brush (:

  • @shilinTV i see... OKE, then :)

and about the size, what size of brush do you normally use for lineart?

btw, if you don't mind, I would like to know why do you prefer SAI over photoshop to do the lineart? :)

gosh, thanks to your vid I am strucked by the need to hit my tablet again! been ages :))

  • @sophie3howl please read the comments in some of my videos, these have been answered before

  • Do you mind me asking what kind of tablet you use?

I have the Wacom Bamboo Pentablet around 99$

I'm wondering if I should buy a more expensive one or not. Maybe I'll be able to make better lines if I have a more expensive tablet haha xD

  • @khrikulover I have a 21" cintiq since a few weeks ago. This picture was drawn with an intuos 4, and before I had the intuos 4 (I used that for 1 year) I used a graphire 2 for 9 years. I personally don't think spending too much money on your tablet is worth it; as long as it is a wacom it is good enough in my book. In fact my friend mentioned that when she got a higher-end tablet she was having trouble because the sensitivity meant it was harder to draw stable lines.

  • @shilinTV Thank you so much for answering my question. I took a look at all the tablet's you listed and wow! I am so surprised that you were able to use the graphire 2 for 9 years. *___* it's really inspiring though. Your old intuos4 is probably the one that is most similar to the tablet that I have. And that 21' cintiq! it's amazing! It looks really fun to use but DAMN! that goddamn price! lol

    Sorry for rambling xD

    Again. Thank you so much!!

  • @shilinTV do you draw everyday? :l

  • @lolsa123 yes haha

  • @shilinTV now im feeling slackish ;P got a wacom bamboo fun but i dont draw everyday, im kinda stuck on how the hell to inprove >.< and learning illustrator cs5 is a real pain in the... *cough*

  • @lolsa123 illustrator is not really as suitable for this kind of drawing as photoshop; it's meant more for vectors and graphic design I believe

  • @shilinTV prob is that i like sai alot more than photoshop 2 xD its much easier to understand ;p how long have you been drawing? :3

  • I LOVE YOU AND YOUR ART.. !

what programme u recorded this with?

  • @artykidian12345 these are livestream videos made from livestream procaster

  • This is beautiful! I love the way you draw clothes! All so concise and life-like! And your poses/positions and all the details! My drawing always end up in the same pose OTL Did you ever have this problem? Anyway, I hope you have a lovely day!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow~ those details are Awesome !!! And the line is so smooth and clean !!!

Do u mind tell me what size, min size and stabilizer for your pen Plz ??

  • @ChevalierSusan I don't remember from the top of my head, but I change those often and they dont have much effect on the final drawing. If you want smooth and clean lines, you really would have to draw slowly and carefully. Copying my brush settings won't help you much.

  • @shilinTV

    I c ~

    Ok~I will work harder~ X3

  • How do you make every bit of the line not go over each other, it just seem like you are doing magic on the tablet x_x

I must know, how exactly you do everything so accurately and not go sketchy.

  • @aaateam111 I've been using a tablet for many years so I'm used to its control. Unless you're asking how I draw clean in general, it's just a habit that you'd have to develop on your own by drawing slower and more accurately

  • Uh, if you're using default pen tool, then can I ask you how you get the different pressure on the line? o3o

  • @AliceTheBRabbit I don't know what the other pen tool is or which program you're talking about. this one is just a brush.

  • @shilinTV I meant the pen tool in SAI. Usually, when I use it, my lines are pretty thick and heavy, so if I want pressure on them, I have to work on vector layer with pen and pressure tool, which is a bit annoying... I'm just wondering how you get different pressure with pen tool on normal layer.

  • @AliceTheBRabbit you can loser the minimal diameter of any brush to make it more pressure sensitive.

  • what tool do you use to draw the lineart? O.O

  • @MangaAnime572 pen tool in sai (: or brush in photoshop.

  • @shilinTV so u don't use the pen tool on photoshop?

  • @shilinTV I see O.O well thanks for the info :D

  • I love it, as always.

I'm so glad that you take the time to post these every once in a while. Even if I've seen it in LS I'll watch these video's again. lol

What inspires the clothing that you draw? It's always so beautiful. Are you influenced by clothes you see in fashion mags or on television? That's what it is for me. I'll take different pieces of clothes I like and mix them together. ^^

But yours looks looks so original so I was just wondering.

  • @sangosavino I rarely look at real life clothing photos or references/inspirational images, I make up everything I come up with rather than take other works and put them together. but I try to look at photography more now to enrich my knowledge of fashion.

  • @shilinTV

That's awesome! You could make your own clothing line. lol

    love your work Shilin~♥

Keep at it! You inspire a lot of people ^^

I'm going to try to be more original and creative with my clothing now too.

  • I found myself literally poking my head around the chatbox, as if I could actually see what was behind it, LOL.

I can’t believe you free-handed those gaunlets on her arms and the sword’s hilt…they’re flawless! And your drapery upon bodies and drapery that is flowing is just…astonishing. I’m sure it takes a lot of practice. Have you done a lot of drapery studies in order to become so good at it, or is it a lot of hit or misses with drawings? Just curious. I must go and buy your book!

  • @YourBlackParade I don't do separate studies for them but I do enjoy drawing them and draw them a lot in my illustrations, so that probably helped!

  • ;D AWESOMENESS X9000!!

  • this is so great ; A ;

  • amazing D:

  • Again, wow. You've got some freaking good eyes to be able to see your sketch at such a low resolution, because I don't XD

  • why so amazing. ; ___ ;

  • omg this is AMAZING!!! and your lines are so clean @@
