@AudieHolland - Nonsense, it's related to distance and the camera used. Look at your own video again, when Ed is close to the camera the reflection is small relative to his visor, but at 2:45-2:52 when he's further away, it's bigger in comparison. Also, the footage on the moon was shot with a TV camera and the LIVE signal beamed back to earth, whereas the spacewalk was shot on FILM, a big difference, and so it's clearer as you would expect. Therefore you can't compare them in the way you have.

@MarkYetiCribb - As for jumping 10 feet, the suits the astronauts were wearing weighed about 180 pounds (that's nearly 13 stone!!!). And the pressure within the suits made them stiff and awkward, especially at the joints, therefore under those conditions an astronaut would have a very difficult time trying to jump as high as he could here on earth, even under the 1/6th gravity of the moon. So yes, 10 feet with no suit on in 1/6th gravity, but dead long before you had a chance to jump :-)

@SunnyDaysRFun the Van Allen Belt protects us from solar wind, but it doesn't blast of from the sun every second. they wouldn't blow up due to their space suits which were pressurised, the reason the moon gravity didn't affect the flag is because NASA anticipated that it would just hang loosely due to no atmosphere, so they put a small piece of collapsible metal across the top that the flag would also be attached to to hold it up. it was also attached to the main horizontal piece of flag.

Its been estimated that any of the space capsules of the 1960's would have exploded at about 30, 000 miles above the earth, just beyond the radiation belts. Where do I get my sources? Anyone want to talk about the "OH MY GOD" particle discovered in 1991? Galactic cosmic ray detectors measured a 50 joule burst. Does anyone know how many rads 50 joules is? 5,000,000,000 rads. If something happened in reality, you will find that 99.99 % of normal people will go along with that. Especially if we have equalled or, as in most cases, surpassed the achievement. However, if this was a one-time occurrence then it's no wonder many people are suspicious, me included.

@AudieHolland - Nonsense, it's related to distance and the camera used. Look at your own video again, when Ed is close to the camera the reflection is small relative to his visor, but at 2:45-2:52 when he's further away, it's bigger in comparison. Also, the footage on the moon was shot with a TV camera and the LIVE signal beamed back to earth, whereas the spacewalk was shot on FILM, a big difference, and so it's clearer as you would expect. Therefore you can't compare them in the way you have.

@swfcocs1 If you use occams razor then you could say, going to the moon involved solving too many problems so it was done in a film studio and the rocket only got as far at earth orbit. I suspect the blade is double edged. So you agree that the teacher was there to increase media coverage. It coincides with the disaster. Things tend to have several uses rather than a single use. Especially expensive things like the shuttle. Occams razor cannot cope with the shuttles multirole design.

The point is that if you wanted to blow the shuttle up then you would want plenty of people watching. You don't tell the teacher, "you know we are going to kill you by blowing up the shuttle, please go along with this as if everything is fine", that would be daft.

@MarkYetiCribb - As for jumping 10 feet, the suits the astronauts were wearing weighed about 180 pounds (that's nearly 13 stone!!!). And the pressure within the suits made them stiff and awkward, especially at the joints, therefore under those conditions an astronaut would have a very difficult time trying to jump as high as he could here on earth, even under the 1/6th gravity of the moon. So yes, 10 feet with no suit on in 1/6th gravity, but dead long before you had a chance to jump :-)

It's rather sad when people need a "science" show like Mythbusters to prove that some astronauts reallyreally went to the moon.
Instead of trying to debunk the non-believers, they had much better show the Apollo 11 debriefing video and explain why those astronauts were so terrified and depressed-looking.
Maybe we did go to the moon but we still have not seen the actual footage (if it exists). All we have seen since Neil Armstrong did his famous routine is badly faked 'moonmovies.'

all of these conspiracy theorists haven't ever done any research. if they had, they would have known that there are mirror reflectors on the moon that were put there by the Apollo 11 astronauts, and these reflectors are used every day. those "wires" are probably light flare, like you get if you take a photo/ video next to a light source. plus why would people fake the moon landing or anything conspiracy theorists think are a conspiracy, like 9/11.

@SunnyDaysRFun the Van Allen Belt protects us from solar wind, but it doesn't blast of from the sun every second. they wouldn't blow up due to their space suits which were pressurised, the reason the moon gravity didn't affect the flag is because NASA anticipated that it would just hang loosely due to no atmosphere, so they put a small piece of collapsible metal across the top that the flag would also be attached to to hold it up. it was also attached to the main horizontal piece of flag.

Its been estimated that any of the space capsules of the 1960's would have exploded at about 30, 000 miles above the earth, just beyond the radiation belts. Where do I get my sources? @SunnyDaysRFun the astronauts were protected by the aluminium hulls of the spacecraft, so that means they could survive. plus, NASA plotted a course that went through the least radioactive part of the belts, an when they got back, tests found on average 1 rem of radiation in the astronauts, which is about the amount any living animal at sea level gets over 3 years. and 33 of the 36 astronauts that landed on the moon developed cataracts as a result of the radiation.

Average american consumers always paint conspiracy theorists and other open-minded people as if they're paranoid delusional and insane. I've never once met anyone who fit those cartoonish qualities, regardless of their beliefs. Its also fact humans cannot pass through the Van Allen belts, so genius's how did astronauts do it in the Apollo missions, and and how come they do not venture past the van Allen belts since the Apollo missions, simple.. they never have.
