Hey Gump he also coached those players regardless of who recruited who. Saban is a great coach but Miles deserves credit for coaching those guys. And some of those players he recruited too. It takes every team luck. Your Bama team had some luck and officiating help vs. us and yes very lucky vs. Vols this past year. BTW I can't tell if he is saying clock it. There was confusion on if Toliver fumbled at end of play. How do we know if he was saying down? C'ya in BR this year.
Bama fans obsessed with Saban recruits at LSU huh! We recruit fine on our own. We are finally getting more SEC quality athletes in state after a drop off in talent past three years. In state loading at skill positions not so much on DL and OL. But monster class coming up with 7 already committed. If Miles gets us in position to win West he will be here for a while. If not ..next coach. Either way we appreciate his 51-15 record and NC. But if goals are not met gotta do what we gotta do.
I'm not at all an Alabama fan. I was pulling against Alabama against LSU the past two years. But Les Miles is in no way a better recruiter or coach than Saban. Honestly, with the talent the state of Louisiana has you should be blowing everyone out every game.
First of all Les can recruit with anyone...period. As far as clock management he has issues and the world knows it. So, yes Saban is better than him there. Give Mile's teams the horses and the offense will flourish (see 2006-07). He needs help on D as he is no expert there. There is more talent in TX, FL, Cali due to population. La. has only 4.5M people. Not any idiot can recruit in La. If that was the case we would have won a lot in 90's.
Believe me, I would wish nothing more for Les Miles to succeed, but from my standpoint LSU was much more powerful when Saban was there. Maybe this year he will prove me wrong, hopefully so.
In '08 Miles admittedly made a mistake in hiring long term friends as co DCs. Then he got Chavis and fixed the D. This past year low numbers of SEC quality instate talent on the lines haunted us. The time management stuff is something he has got to get control of. Saba is a terrific coach, arguably the best or top 3. He is a jerk, egomaniac, and treated his boss (former AD Skip Bertman) like dog crap. He has no morals. Les is a great guy who the players respect.
I completely agree with everything you said about Nick Saban. He is an amazing coach, but he is also an egotistictal maniac that only cares about winning. Which makes him a perfect fit for the University of Alabama. You know Bama fans right? All they care about is winning too. I'm an Auburn fan, so I don't care much for Alabama or their fans, but I still try to give an unbiast observation about their team and coach...which isn't always easy lol
I respect winning from any program. Even Bama. Saban will take it to the level where there has to be a lot of hush...money around hmm cough cough if you know what I mean. Put it this way when he was LSU's coach I feared he was going to get us in deep trouble with NCAA. I believe in winning too. In collegiate athletics there are other things invovled besides Ws / Ls. That issue gets lost on certain programs. Bama and USC are one of the untouchables. Programs that won't get death penalty
BTW nothing personal but I hate your program too LOL! Auburn will always be stiff competition and our schools had plenty of wars since 80's. Actually we have been your biggest rival outside Bama since the Earthquake game in '88. The interception game in '94 was one of y'all best wins in '90s and was a microcosm of the disaster that was the 90's for us. I threw a bear bottle agains the wall of my apartment after Howard's last INT. Nothing Miles has done is any worse than Curley Hallman.
Haha nothing personal indeed. I do not care for LSU, but then again your not suppose to like your rivals lol. Thats what makes it fun. Since Saban has been at Alabama we've seen a lot of laptops, fishing trips, and I've suspected recruiting violations. But the NCAA doesn't care, they made that obvious after taking no action with the Hulio and Ingram fishing trip.
Well, it is going to be very interesting what goes down when it comes to the USC. I have not heard anything yet but this will determine how far a program can push it or if the NCAA has any backbone left whatsoever. If not then its open season and its how much a program's boosters can buy talent. All this stuff about rules and cheating can stop on the dime. I mean if CFB is going semi or full professional well..what's stopping it if USC does not get punished?
Football has started to feel commercial, and it almost seemed like the refs were helping certain teams this year. Look at LSU at Bama this year. That "incomplete" interception on the sidelines was ridiculous, along with all the no calls Bama had when holding, and chop blocking. I can't prove it, but it sure did feel like the refs helped UA and UF to get to the SEC championship unbeaten. Also "the drive" Bama had on AU to win the game at the end had 3 3rd down illegal pick plays not called.
Also, not anyone can be expected to just show up and recruit a hotbed of HS Football talent. If that was the case Zook, Malkovic, and Hackett would still have jobs at UF, UT, and USC respectively. I know a lot about LSU athletics being alum, lifelong fan, and lived half my life in SE. LA. The SEC is tough and it not reasonable to expect any school to beat everyone by 40+ pts every game. So, no not every coach can come in and recruit La. If that was so Dinardo would have ended up better.
Last year Miles recruited arguabley the top class (per ESPN, Bama #1 per rivals) and at least number 2. This past year we met a lot of our recruiting needs and we pulled in #6, or #7 depending on what recruiting service. Our issue has been low depth of talent at line positions from in state from '05-'08. That is why we had to recruit a lot of out of state. But in '11 La. will have one of its best recruiting classes in past 20 years. Top 3 class is strong possibility, if not #1.
If you Gumps (i say that nicely y'all can call me a coonass it won't hurt my internet feelingsLOL!) want to talk intelligently about CFB without 7 year old trolling that is cool. I am all about that. Just back your stats up and I've got mind. As far as this game it sucked to high h&((. Miles has one, maybe two years to get it back in high gear. IMHO, he is not as dumb or bad as some think. An average coach who needs good assistants. Mack Brown is kinda like that too.
I don't get how when the ref whistles the 4th down play dead the clock says 2 seconds. But when Jefferson gets to the line its at 1 second. Not that I'm defending Miles but it would make sense if there was clock confusion because 2 seconds is plenty of time for a quick spike.
i'll defend miles here....um....its not nice to pick on retards, so every1 just leave him alone!!! he doesnt know any better ok? just leave it...you just look like assholes picking on such a dumbass!! haha, i'm a razorback fan, i hope he pulls sum dumb shit like this on us saturday...hopefully we can win, make it 4 years in a row!!!!
LSUtigersIZnumba1, you are exactly correct. Unfortunately, the internet is full of CRAP posters like this PRICK ligerbait. He added 2 + 2 and got 6 and olaimed there was no other explanation. That is pretty much the standard motus operandi of a LIAR.
Hey ligerbait, IF I claimed I owned the Brooklyn Bridge and put up a YouTube video of the bridge and me nearby, does that prove I own it? LOL!! Pathetic LIAR!
ligerbait tried to pull a SCAM by posting a video that did NOT show Miles arm action in the same frame as the spiking attempt. Psst, PRICK, there is a video from a different angle that shows exactly when Miles did the action and it was when the OM player took the ball away from Toliver.
Nice try on your CON job, JERK! Too bad it was easily disproved and you ended up being a LIAR!
He wasNt CallIn For a SPike HE was TelLIn the rEfs tht toliver was dwn cause an ole miss saftey got up with the ball and jefferson thought he said spike it and to me it looks like they stopped da clock a 2seconds at one point then put it to 1second wtf and they shuld of stoped da clock when he hit da ground and they would of had about 3 or 4 second left!!!!
How in the world.........could you associate Les Miles' hand motion there with anything other than spiking the ball......??? and why wasnt the field goal unit rushing out to the field anyway? Les Miles is an idiot. He's done this 2 or 3 times before in his Tenure at LSU and gotten lucky every time but this one
and he eventually accepted the blame after getting caught for this. Just a few years ago against Auburn this exact scenario happened........Moron Les had no clue how much time was on clock. LSU was in field goal range for game winner, with no time left on clock. And Les calls a hail mary pass that goes for a touchdown. LOL. After the game he said he didnt know there was no time left. Moron LSU fans think he is ballsy. He really just has a brain the size of a peanut.
and he was praised all year after that play. a tipped ball and he would have been the biggest moron on the planet. as we see with the ole miss scene here.
exactly. Basically all of the credit he gets is fraud. (im being dead serious). The guy slipped through the cracks in major D1 football, and his mistakes look like intentionally ballsy calls. 2 years ago, rivals did a big article on him, saying he wouldnt be in the SEC much longer for the same reasons. They said eventually his poor decision making would be exposed. This game was just 1 case of many to come im sure
do you realize that last year was the first year with completely Les Miles recruited players and gameplan?........... Before last season, LSU went 11-2, 11-2, then 12-2........... And then starting last season went 8-5 and now 9-3. I dont think its a coincidence buddy.......
I dont think Les has a shot in hell to ever beat Urban Meyer or Saban again...... and its because he just isnt on the same level at all
Biggest issue is Crowton does not call the type of offense best suited for players. Miles has had classes with him about that behind scenes but in offseason there was some apparent compromise. We brought in Gonzalez to help with passing game. The downward turn had a lot to do with lack of depth at line positions. In state talent being off had a lot to do with it regardless who would be HC. We are not that far off. 9-3 is no shame in tough SEC.
In addition we had a high attrition numbers from '06-'07. We had some punks we had to run off (Jones stealing), injuries (Aubrey career ending), and some academic (Loadholt ended up at OU cause he could not make academic qualifications for SEC/LSU). Again Miles is ultimately responsible we have to recruit smarter. Last two classes no such issues. So depth will eventually get better. We have the skill players. Now we got to get the depth back on lines and Crowton getting back to '07.
oh, yeah youre right, Saban is in trouble. He only has 2 #1 recruiting classes, plus a currently #2 recruiting class in the nation coming in for *His own recruited players. He is coasting off of MIke Shulas recruiting genius.............
If you guys get on probation again he will. But the REC's money and dirty end business of buying off NCAA officials may work LOL! Yeah we know about the lying and cheatingby the REC. From death threats to Bill Curry to Albert Means and envelopes in BK parking lots back in the 90's. But Fulmer was doing the same thing as he is a hypocrite. The textbook scandal y'all were fortunate. Bama has tremendous talent no doubt. Just have to watch that 'institutional control' LOL!!
yet MSU still lost. You all should be grateful for the missed call on Peterson's interception. It helps that the replay official had ties to your University. Talke about some home cooking!!! It was a good game. Jefferson going down sealed us as Lee can't bring us back. But the Peterson int would have been a momentum changer. Our OL needs to get better to competed with Bama's and UF's defense. Two positions, C and RG needs improvement.
i get that way, not about football. Just when someone tries to dispute me. I make sure that I know what im talking about before I have an opinion, and I make sure people know that afterwards. They should try that as well
Actually, as it turns out (and Miles doesn't take credit for this because he didn't want to spike the ball), the spiking attempt was the only possible way to even attempt to keep the game going. OM was substituting players and if you can somehow start the play with 12 defensive players on the field, then the game can't end on an accepted defensive penalty.
Oh and for the record, you can CLEARLY see where the OM defender is trying to take the ball away from Toliver after the WR has hit the ground with the ball.
Like I said, the You Tube poster didn't know crap about what he was commenting on. Better try a better SCAM or CON job the next time. You just made a FOOL of yourself!
Oooooppppppssss, what is represented as a supposed "spike or clock it" movement by Les Miles was NOT what he was doing. Miles explained the motion during the press conference and what he was referring to the long pass completion where Toliver caught the ball but the OM defender got it away from him after he hit the ground. Miles was pointing to the WR being DOWN and the ball is LSU's, NOT anything related to the spiking motion.
I love how you believe anything you are told by Les Miles apparently. It's not like he's ever lied to the media about anything, like numerous injuries or the amount of touches Russell Shepard will get. The refs immediately signaled catch and first down, and Les Miles is clearly saying clock it. The only fool at this point is Les Miles and anyone who is still defending him.
Guy, you are just the typical moron who thinks they know squat about football when they don't If you really kept up with LSU football you would know RS touches had more to do with him not knowing the offensive formations. Psst, not Les Miles fault. But hey, act like you know what you are talking about. I'm ready to nominate you for an Oscar for your acting so far.
@111JFish Are you a fucking RETARD? He was saying the receiver Tolliver was down as an Ole Miss player had taken the ball away from him on the ground. That is why he was pointing to the ground. Other views of the play show when he pointed to the ground. I suggest you get a refund on your lip reading lessons. You are an IDIOT if you really think you see that! Go play in a busy street, BUTTHOLE!
Nope, he is not saying clock it. He is pointing to the ground saying the WR was down when the Arkansas defender took the ball away on the ground. There is another angle that shows when he made the signal. But yeah, I don't like it when uninformed fans jump to conclusions and some youtube moron puts up a video when he doesnt' know what he is talking about. Once again, another angle shows the timing of the deal better than this one. You are wrong, but hey, keep lying...I know the truth.
@jz646 Fraid not. That is not what he is saying or at least I certainly can't tell that. Once agan, if you want to try to scam people, that is your business. He explained what he was doing and he said there is another angle that shows exactly what he was looking at and why he was speaking. It was the Ark defender taking the ball away from the LSU WR and he was telling the ref the LSU player was down. Fabricate what you will...doesn't change the footage.
@tfberry You say you can't tell what he's saying, yet you come up with another scenario which is just as, if not more inconclusive. Why would you believe Les Miles story in this? He's the last person to listen to, he's clearly covering his own ass. I heard OJ say he didn't kill his wife. He should know, he was there right?
@jz646 First, there is proof of the other scenario. If you kept up with the story which you obviously didn't, the other angle was mentioned at the press conference days later and no one disputed it. And you lied when you claimed you could read his lips. That angle gives 0 chance to read his lips. The other angle which obviously exists shows him and the players in the same shot. Sorry, you were proven to have lied here. Guess you got caught, huh? Oh, and I won't be reading your emails.
@tfberry "That angle gave 0 chance to read his lips"
This is just downright sad. The burden of proof is on you right now. You should try and at least provide credible evidence if you want to bring up facts for your case. Block me, it still doesn't change the fact he said "Clock it."
@111JFish u cant be so definite of what hes saying fuck heaf i believe he was saying tolliver was down with 2 or 3 secs left and there should have been more time
Y'all miss the point when you talk about the last play not being the big problem. You're right about that. But the question around "clock it" is whether Miles lied when he said he wasn't calling for a spike.
I can't tell what he's saying (but this is the best view of it), but if he was calling for the spike and lied about it later, well that would be a problem. It's not the "crime", it's the cover-up and all that.
it wasnt just the end of the game...his arrogance of going for the onside in the second quarter after going up 2 scores and giving Rebs great field position for our 1st TD. The blocked FG for a TD in the 1st was a result of us getting 2 1st TDs called backed (one we deserved, the other, i agree their was a block in the back). I think it all started with that onside in the 2nd quarter that sealed his fate
Correct on your comment about the last play. With 1 second left and no timeouts, the refs aren't going to allow you to start a play, much less spike the ball or bring the FG unit on, nor should they. The last play was not the problem except the pass was supposed to go to the endzone. The problem was the 16 seconds wasted after 3rd down before timeout was called. That goes to the coaching staff and to the players. Either a coach or a player should have called timeout.
You can't blame Jordan Jefferson at all on this. He was the one that was confused by Les's call to spike it. Les thought there was 2 seconds left on the clock because that's what it said when the whistles were blown after the catch. He thought he could spike it and run one second off and still have 1 second left to get his field goal unit out there and win the game. Unfortunately, a second ran off and the spike caused LSU to be left with no time left.
remeber when Ole Miss was good......ha

I know a lot about LSU athletics being alum, lifelong fan, and lived half my life in SE. LA. The SEC is tough and it not reasonable to expect any school to beat everyone by 40+ pts every game. So, no not every coach can come in and recruit La. If that was so Dinardo would have ended up better.
trubengalgold 1 year ago
John Mackovic I meant on previous response not Malkovich. Get the actor's name crossed with the coach's as it is easy to do LOL!

Even Jordan Jefferson should have known not to spike the ball.
4waynosespray 2 years ago
I don't get how when the ref whistles the 4th down play dead the clock says 2 seconds. But when Jefferson gets to the line its at 1 second. Not that I'm defending Miles but it would make sense if there was clock confusion because 2 seconds is plenty of time for a quick spike.
TheNOBAMA2012 2 years ago
i'll defend miles here....um....its not nice to pick on retards, so every1 just leave him alone!!! he doesnt know any better ok? just leave it...you just look like assholes picking on such a dumbass!! haha, i'm a razorback fan, i hope he pulls sum dumb shit like this on us saturday...hopefully we can win, make it 4 years in a row!!!!

ummm, whether you think he is making a clocking motion or not, he is clearly yelling clock it, so I would assume it is the clocking motion.

LOL!! Pathetic LIAR!
tfberry 2 years ago
ligerbait tried to pull a SCAM by posting a video that did NOT show Miles arm action in the same frame as the spiking attempt. Psst, PRICK, there is a video from a different angle that shows exactly when Miles did the action and it was when the OM player took the ball away from Toliver.
Nice try on your CON job, JERK! Too bad it was easily disproved and you ended up being a LIAR!
tfberry 2 years ago
He wasNt CallIn For a SPike HE was TelLIn the rEfs tht toliver was dwn cause an ole miss saftey got up with the ball and jefferson thought he said spike it and to me it looks like they stopped da clock a 2seconds at one point then put it to 1second wtf and they shuld of stoped da clock when he hit da ground and they would of had about 3 or 4 second left!!!!
LSUtigersIZnumba1 2 years ago
How in the world.........could you associate Les Miles' hand motion there with anything other than spiking the ball......??? and why wasnt the field goal unit rushing out to the field anyway? Les Miles is an idiot. He's done this 2 or 3 times before in his Tenure at LSU and gotten lucky every time but this one
MrBlueCrimson 2 years ago
and he eventually accepted the blame after getting caught for this.
MrBlueCrimson 2 years ago
and he was praised all year after that play. a tipped ball and he would have been the biggest moron on the planet. as we see with the ole miss scene here.
jeffbrister2004 2 years ago

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it must be hard being ignorant/ lucky and go 51-14 in the best conference in the country?
jjharrin 2 years ago
do you realize that last year was the first year with completely Les Miles recruited players and gameplan?........... Before last season, LSU went 11-2, 11-2, then 12-2........... And then starting last season went 8-5 and now 9-3. I dont think its a coincidence buddy.......
I dont think Les has a shot in hell to ever beat Urban Meyer or Saban again...... and its because he just isnt on the same level at all
MrBlueCrimson 2 years ago
Biggest issue is Crowton does not call the type of offense best suited for players. Miles has had classes with him about that behind scenes but in offseason there was some apparent compromise. We brought in Gonzalez to help with passing game. The downward turn had a lot to do with lack of depth at line positions. In state talent being off had a lot to do with it regardless who would be HC. We are not that far off. 9-3 is no shame in tough SEC.
trubengalgold 1 year ago
In addition we had a high attrition numbers from '06-'07. We had some punks we had to run off (Jones stealing), injuries (Aubrey career ending), and some academic (Loadholt ended up at OU cause he could not make academic qualifications for SEC/LSU). Again Miles is ultimately responsible we have to recruit smarter. Last two classes no such issues. So depth will eventually get better. We have the skill players. Now we got to get the depth back on lines and Crowton getting back to '07.

but weather youre too big of a homer to see it or not, Les makes a dumbass mistake every single year. most of the time having to do with the clock

do you realize bama has 14 seniors starting - saban's 3rd year - uh - saban hasn't won with his kids yet

also - sabans record at lsu when he had all of his own recruited players - 9-3 - what is lsu's record this year?
jjharrin 2 years ago
oh, yeah youre right, Saban is in trouble.

Just have to watch that 'institutional control' LOL!!
trubengalgold 1 year ago
and he is lucky is wasnt worse this year even. Miss State outplayed LSU all game.
MrBlueCrimson 2 years ago
yet MSU still lost.

They should try that as well
MrBlueCrimson 2 years ago
Actually, as it turns out (and Miles doesn't take credit for this because he didn't want to spike the ball), the spiking attempt was the only possible way to even attempt to keep the game going. OM was substituting players and if you can somehow start the play with 12 defensive players on the field, then the game can't end on an accepted defensive penalty.
tfberry 2 years ago
Miles said that they practice getting on the FG unit and the offense off, and 12 seconds is their best possible time to do that.
Apparently, people have run out of delusional events to complain about so they just concoct one out of thin air.
tfberry 2 years ago
Oh and for the record, you can CLEARLY see where the OM defender is trying to take the ball away from Toliver after the WR has hit the ground with the ball.
Like I said, the You Tube poster didn't know crap about what he was commenting on. Better try a better SCAM or CON job the next time. You just made a FOOL of yourself!
tfberry 2 years ago
Oooooppppppssss, what is represented as a supposed "spike or clock it" movement by Les Miles was NOT what he was doing. Miles explained the motion during the press conference and what he was referring to the long pass completion where Toliver caught the ball but the OM defender got it away from him after he hit the ground. Miles was pointing to the WR being DOWN and the ball is LSU's, NOT anything related to the spiking motion.
Les Miles 1 You Tube 0
tfberry 2 years ago
Even is this you are correct (EXTREMELY doubtful) Miles should have been sending in his FG unit. There is no excuse.
FaulkMonster 2 years ago 2
I love how you believe anything you are told by Les Miles apparently. It's not like he's ever lied to the media about anything, like numerous injuries or the amount of touches Russell Shepard will get. The refs immediately signaled catch and first down, and Les Miles is clearly saying clock it. The only fool at this point is Les Miles and anyone who is still defending him.
ligerbait 2 years ago
Guy, you are just the typical moron who thinks they know squat about football when they don't If you really kept up with LSU football you would know RS touches had more to do with him not knowing the offensive formations. Psst, not Les Miles fault. But hey, act like you know what you are talking about. I'm ready to nominate you for an Oscar for your acting so far.
tfberry 1 year ago
@tfberry You don't fucking see his mouth saying..CLOCK IT!....Are you fucking blind?
111JFish 1 year ago
@111JFish Are you a fucking RETARD? He was saying the receiver Tolliver was down as an Ole Miss player had taken the ball away from him on the ground. That is why he was pointing to the ground. Other views of the play show when he pointed to the ground. I suggest you get a refund on your lip reading lessons. You are an IDIOT if you really think you see that! Go play in a busy street, BUTTHOLE!
tfberry 1 year ago
@tfberry Why are you so worked up about this? He is clearly saying clock it.
jz646 1 year ago
Nope, he is not saying clock it. He is pointing to the ground saying the WR was down when the Arkansas defender took the ball away on the ground. There is another angle that shows when he made the signal. But yeah, I don't like it when uninformed fans jump to conclusions and some youtube moron puts up a video when he doesnt' know what he is talking about. Once again, another angle shows the timing of the deal better than this one. You are wrong, but hey, keep lying...I know the truth.
tfberry 1 year ago
@tfberry Just watch the video. To you what does it look like he's mouthing? It's not even a football analysis anymore, just lip reading.
jz646 1 year ago
@jz646 Fraid not. That is not what he is saying or at least I certainly can't tell that. Once agan, if you want to try to scam people, that is your business. He explained what he was doing and he said there is another angle that shows exactly what he was looking at and why he was speaking. It was the Ark defender taking the ball away from the LSU WR and he was telling the ref the LSU player was down. Fabricate what you will...doesn't change the footage.
tfberry 1 year ago
@tfberry You say you can't tell what he's saying, yet you come up with another scenario which is just as, if not more inconclusive. Why would you believe Les Miles story in this? He's the last person to listen to, he's clearly covering his own ass. I heard OJ say he didn't kill his wife. He should know, he was there right?
jz646 1 year ago
@jz646 First, there is proof of the other scenario. If you kept up with the story which you obviously didn't, the other angle was mentioned at the press conference days later and no one disputed it. And you lied when you claimed you could read his lips. That angle gives 0 chance to read his lips. The other angle which obviously exists shows him and the players in the same shot. Sorry, you were proven to have lied here. Guess you got caught, huh? Oh, and I won't be reading your emails.
tfberry 1 year ago
@tfberry "That angle gave 0 chance to read his lips"
This is just downright sad. The burden of proof is on you right now. You should try and at least provide credible evidence if you want to bring up facts for your case. Block me, it still doesn't change the fact he said "Clock it."
jz646 1 year ago
@jz646 You have been blocked as a user and will be on spam in email. So shove your POS lies where the sun don't shine!
tfberry 1 year ago
@111JFish u cant be so definite of what hes saying fuck heaf i believe he was saying tolliver was down with 2 or 3 secs left and there should have been more time
robbywoohoo 1 year ago
Y'all miss the point when you talk about the last play not being the big problem. You're right about that. But the question around "clock it" is whether Miles lied when he said he wasn't calling for a spike.
I can't tell what he's saying (but this is the best view of it), but if he was calling for the spike and lied about it later, well that would be a problem. It's not the "crime", it's the cover-up and all that.
capnken 2 years ago
it wasnt just the end of the game...his arrogance of going for the onside in the second quarter after going up 2 scores and giving Rebs great field position for our 1st TD. The blocked FG for a TD in the 1st was a result of us getting 2 1st TDs called backed (one we deserved, the other, i agree their was a block in the back). I think it all started with that onside in the 2nd quarter that sealed his fate

67ovette 2 years ago
This is bullcrap. He's saying "Got it, he got it" or "he caught it, he caught it" - this is OBVIOUS
Why would les be calling in a play to our receivers with Jeff 30 yards away.
dcmarcello 2 years ago
Correct on your comment about the last play. With 1 second left and no timeouts, the refs aren't going to allow you to start a play, much less spike the ball or bring the FG unit on, nor should they. The last play was not the problem except the pass was supposed to go to the endzone. The problem was the 16 seconds wasted after 3rd down before timeout was called. That goes to the coaching staff and to the players. Either a coach or a player should have called timeout.
tfberry 2 years ago
it wasnt the spike that kill us it was when leslie waited 20 seconds to acll a timeout
Lsu640 2 years ago
You can't blame Jordan Jefferson at all on this. He was the one that was confused by Les's call to spike it. Les thought there was 2 seconds left on the clock because that's what it said when the whistles were blown after the catch. He thought he could spike it and run one second off and still have 1 second left to get his field goal unit out there and win the game. Unfortunately, a second ran off and the spike caused LSU to be left with no time left.
