uh, not sure what this person is talking about, but band size is 4-5 INCHES LARGER than your underbust measurement. That's what every other website out there says, in addition to being what two different store fitters said when I went in for a fitting last week.
Well everyone is different, so the answer would be yes. Not everyone has the same bra size, so that size is normal for you. Just like someone else your age having a bra size of 30A for example, that's just as normal for them as your bra size is for you. You can't exactly generalise bra size with age group or a group of people, because like I said everyone is different.
I don't get it. I measure as a band size of 29 inches, and they definitely don't really have those in America, and I'm very sure that they wouldn't fit me. I wear a 34 band size and it fits fine. Sooo confused.
I have an underbust of 29 inches, and I wear a 30 inch band. If you have never tried anything smaller than 34 then that probably feels comfortable to you, but it's actually meant to be a firm, snug fit. You should be able to fit no more than a fist under the back of your bra when it's fastened on the biggest adjustment. If you have a tape measure, you will be able to see that your 34" bras will stretch up to just over 34 inches, so that is the size of ribcage they are designed to fit.
I see what you mean. I have boycotted bras all together for a month now, lol. I can fit like 3 fists under my bra band. I guess this means the person who measured me at Victoria's Secret is a liar. D:
Yeah, Victoria's Secret is notoriously bad for bra fitting.... I measure ~27" and wear a 28. Women in the United States who should be in 28s and 30s are often stuck wearing 32s and 34s because their only other options are finding specialist shops or ordering online. (I have been ordering all my bras online for a few years now, so I'm used to it, but it's still really annoying.)
This is a good point. If the cups are too small, then it might seem like the band is too small as well, because your bust will be getting in the way when you try to fasten the bra. Someone who should be in a 32G, for example, would probably have difficulty fastening a 32A around them even though they are the same band size. When you don't quite understand how bra sizes work, it's easy to be put off trying smaller band sizes by a bad experience such as this.
Yes, 32G is a relatively common size. Band sizes start at 28 and go up to at least 56, and cup sizes go from AAA to K. Shops like Nordstrom in the US and Bravissimo in the UK sell a much wider range of sizes than most other high street shops and department stores - Bravissimo even sell bras in 28K, so the big cup sizes are not just for big band sizes. If you google "bravissimo" to find their website, most of their models are in the region of 28-30 F-G bra sizes.
You said that if your band measures 32-34 inches it means that your bra should be 34. Some others say to add 5 inches, and I guess that fits better, I measure 33 and my right bra number is 38, I never fit in a 34.
Your band size should be your ribcage measurement rounded to the nearest even number. When you have the right size, it should fasten on the biggest adjustment and you should be able to fit no more than a fist under the back of your bra. The idea of adding 4 or 5 inches to it makes no sense, and does not work at all! If I followed that method I'd be wearing a 34B or 34C, whereas I'm actually in a 30F most days. There is no way that a 34 inch band will be anywhere near supportive enough for me.
Is it normal that my breasts are as big as my mom's (they're huge) and I'm only 14!
I hate my body big time!!!!!!!

An Australian size 10 band is equivalent to a 32 in US/UK sizing.

i think cupsize go on to cup size ZZZ. Norma Stitz her cupsize ZZZ or V? i thought
ROFLMAO81 3 years ago
Paramaecium, that could be because you did not try the correct bra cup size.

32G? Do we really have such sizes? I never saw such a size, at least not a girl with such a size till date.
