This has me in tears, remembering all the nights I spent in the Frontier and the Sands drinking in this most wonderful man, drowning in his beautiful eyes, thrilled by the magic of his voice. I still have the cigar he gave me the first time he ever kissed me and cherish every moment spent with him. There will never be another like him. He was truly exceptional. I'll love him always.
One of the great entertainers/talents of our time! A Gentleman! So grateful that upon hearing my song "With All God's Love" recorded by The Al Green Orchestra, w/ LaVistia Gaston and The Bethlehem Choir, Bob sent me a letter: "Thank you very much for sending me your lovely song. It fits my feelings like a glove. I don't like to use that phrase since the O.J. Simpson case, but I thought it was appropriate here." We miss you, Bob! Still, we have your music, your voice forever to enjoy!
Can't believe it's almost been 2 years. Miss you, Bob ! Miss your smile, your bear hugs, your voice and your blue eyes ! I even miss the occasional smack upside the head from you ! but, like you've said, I'm a smartass ! Bonnie got that from me !
I am truly inspired by these awesome and memorable performances. Now I don't know very much about music, but I know what I like, and often while listening to his voice I can't help but be convinced of the healing power of his words. The messages he imparts are universally applicable, and he will truly, truly be missed. Thank you, Mr. Goulet. Thank you.
It's called "If Ever I Would Leave You" and it's from the broadway musical Camelot. Bob Goulet was the original Sir Lancelot in that show and set the mark for others to reach, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm looking for Goulet on Robert Smigel's anipals show with puppets and live animals. He was incredible with Triumph, so self deprecating and funny. Where can I find this?
His talent will be sorely missed. I fell in love with musicals because of your captivating voice in Camelot. Condolences to his family...may he rest in peace.
Let his voice live forever. I will miss him for he's been part of my life for more than 40 years. God Bless you my Friend and your wife. My your voice ring through winds of the earth and into the heavens. Now go and touch those who wait for you...................
How fortunate we are to have heard Mr.Goulet's golden voice, along with Sinatra, MacRae, and Dino. I shall miss them but I know they are performing somewhere very special and I hope I shall see them again somewhere, sometime.
He was the baritones baritone. His voice could fill the Grand Canyon. Frank Sinatras comment was that his voice was as wide as Sophie Tuckers ass. The truley great talents are all leraving us. Its sad. RIP Bobby Gullet. Skusa me while I cry.
Goulet didn't just open his mouth wide, he unhinged his lower jaw, giving his voice more resonance and projection. Goulet lost some of his wind with age, but unlike the latter day Sinatra, he didn't cave in if he had to sustain a vocal phrase longer than a few seconds.
This is great having these wonderful videos to listen to again and again! Does anyone know what the date of this one is and was there one for the Sept 20th performance? There aren't too many voices and personalities that will be missed as much as Robert's. What a class act!
Bobby, you will FOREVER be remembered for your amazing voice, gorgeous face and delicious laugh. I will carry your voice and laugh with me in my heart. The world mourns your passing. Good Night Sir Lancelot.
I saw him in Camelot, but I think I fell in love with his voice and music, the very first time I heard him, he was such talented man, so easy to like, he will be truly missed, my regards and prayers are with the family, and all of his fans. Daisey.
My heart is breaking over the loss of my beloved dear friend.
Bobby, You will forever be greatly missed. Your Je De Vie, the sound of your magnificent voice and, your delicious laugh will live within my heart forever.
Your voice will never be forgotten~~"if ever I would leave you"~~ but your voice never will~~you sang with compassion, emotion, and love for music~~where ever you are, the music will always be with you and those you are with~~
In his prime, he was the best! He is old in this video, but he could still bring it! Listening to it brings back lots of memories of when I was young and strong and could hammer it against the wind.
May God rest and keep you.May he ease the grief all who love and miss you now share. The show must go on,but at this moment the spotlight seems a little dimmer without you.Much love and respect.R.I.P.
I was age 15 in 1960 and was lucky enough to see Goulet in Camelot on Broadway. He was really something to see and hear. Thank you Mr. Goulet for all your talents. Rest well.
You are the man with the lucious voice. You will be missed. You left us, Mr. Goulet, but will always be remembered. Sleep well. and sing to the Angels.
Man!!Two week's ago it was Joey Bishop and Debra Kerr! We truely are out of any one from that era. There is no romance anymore of the like's of Mr.Goulet's music! SAD!!
My daughter and I saw him perform in NYC Broadway Salutes The Love Songs. We video taped him at the stage door. He was gracious and delightful. He paused for fans to have photos taken with him. There were other stars there that whisked by and did not acknowledge the fans. May God Bless him and help his family and fans through this sad time.
Mr. Goulet was one of the earliest singers I fell in love with, along with Richard Burton and the rest of the Camelot. RIP Robert, we'll miss you so much.
