  • awkward man...is this the forge rs? i have one on my x that was already installed when i bought the car...all it does is whistle like an hks an it drives me nuts lol but ive never heard a forge surge like this..even on 9s..have you considered a tial qr? thats gonna be my next valve i believe

  • You need a new DV or BOV properly recirculated. Do you hear how it whistles at the end. That means that it is fighting the air flow to close completely. What do you think it does when boost comes on hard? Leak, that's what the whistle tells you.

  • @SynapseEngineering At least make another user name to try and hide that fact that you're trying to sling that Synapse shit around here. The guy posts for help and you tell him to buy your product. A product that you cannot sell without SLANDERING other manufacturers.

  • @HondaTurboToys Are you serious right now? I'm not even telling him to buy a Synapse, just telling him to get ANY DV or BOV that is re-circulated. Synapse has never slandered any brand, just compared feature and performance. I don't know what commie country you're in, but last I checked Tide vs. Clorox was still free in America and benefits the consumers. Competition breeds the best products, grow up and get some new panties.

  • @HondaTurboToys In addition, slander means lying. If we were lying about how our product performs compared to the competition, wouldn't you think that the hundreds of users that switch from HKS, Tial and Greddy to Synapse would be filing class action lawsuits for false advertising? Instead, you can Google their feedback and see for yourself that the product goes beyond expectations. You can hate all you want, but those that are looking with unbiased eyes are seeing the benefit, and you're not.

  • @SynapseEngineering Is Synaptic1 associated with Synapse Engineering? A video posted by this user shows a Synchronic BOV vs "Brand X 50mm BOV", which appears to be posted by someone from Synapse, which appears to misrepresent the "Brand X" product. It shows a car surging with the Brand X valve while the problem is "cured" when Synchronic valve is installed. It's more than likely surging because of an incorrect installation (wrong spring choice), but makes the other valve look inferior.

  • @SynapseEngineering And when I used the term slander, I was referring to the fact that you are setting up a rigged "comparison" to show that your part is the one people should be buying, not much different than lying. You ARE lying about the quality of the other brands part. I know first hand plenty of people who run Tial 50mm BOVs on high HP cars, and none of them have this horrible staged surging you have created here. Try installing the right spring and get back to me

  • best way to fix it is buy an impreza

  • @geepishlad YES!!

  • @RF15T1 no

  • I was in my uncles evo 9 fq360 by hks nd his made the same noise except for when he put his foot down... Hes had that car for abput a year nd a half nd hes not had any problems with it.. And knowing him he would be puttin his foot down every day

  • update: the springs are on their way. forged performance is being really annoying about the whole thing. also, the evo is in the shop right now because my master cylinder that is connected to my clutch snapped in half. im lowered on coils so the tow truck couldnt get me. the evo was stranded at the movie theater for 4 days until I could push it to the shop. luckily it was just the master cylinder, luckily i was in a parking lot less than a mile from a shop and thankfully i was in neutral...

  • Its really just down to the spring tension in the BOV. If you can adjust the tension on it not much you can do, maybe check the vac line going to it for leaks. The BOV maybe stuck take it off and check. Its not opening when you shut the throttle and pressurised air is backing up to the compressor blades and slowing it down /whilst making that noise. Change the BOV for one with an adjustable spring to fine tune the opening point under vacuum ;o)

  • Backwards broski

  • @antiviruz42 check my next vid, i switched it... same exact sound broski

  • Are those adjustable?

  • @Heath3250 no, its a recirc bov and there is no exterior adjustment... StiThis1 seems to think I have my bov on backwards (as in the tubes are connected wrong) but im not so sure, i mean it was installed by the guys who made the bov... I doubt they would screw up their own product... could I mess up my car if i go and switch my bov around and it was correct in the first place?

  • @TheEvoXFreak It could be on backwards. My buddy had his on for 2 years backwards on his 8 and it didn't mess anything up. I'm not sure his had any flutter though. I think the main thing is.. Did this just start, or has it been like this since the install? I know a simple question

  • @Heath3250 well, i guess its been like that since the install, but until recently, I never thought of it as a problem... I think tomorrow Im gunna flip it around and try it out... I'll make a vid of it probably...

  • @TheEvoXFreak Ok. Be easy on the boost though lol if it's right now and you flip it backwards I would assume is would surge worse. Anyways i'll check in today and see how it went. I'm not an evo guru, but the forums would be a GREAT place to ask. evolution m dot net has some super smart guys and i think there are a few on evo x forums dot com too.

  • just to be safe make sure you put the bov on the right way. thats what it sounds like when its on backwards and all the air is pushing against the turbine on the turbo causing the compressor surge. or maybe a vacuum leak. but to be safe the easiest quick fix would be to try and flip it around so the tubes are connected to the other side see if that gets rid of it. pm me when you try that . if you dont know what im talking about i can send you a private vid how to check for that stuff.

  • @StiThis1 could i get tthat video link? thanks and I will probably try what you said...

  • @TheEvoXFreak im gonna have to make it for ya ill make it either today when i get off work or before i go tomorrow. ill send you the link it will be private so you can watch it . just make sure you dont go into boost to hard until then

  • @StiThis1 honestly, dont worry about it man... Im getting a tune in a few weeks so I could probably get it fixed... I called up forged performance, sent em my vid link and they said its not really a huge issue... they said it could be fixed when I get a tune... If you still want to make the vid, go ahead but you dont have to... thanks anyways!

  • What are you running? Tial?

  • @Heath3250 forged bov
