It's hard as hell to play, but not too difficult to write. Don't get me wrong, I love death metal, grind, and brutal death metal. A lot of it just sounds the same, though. It's hard to write good catchy songs like Misanthropist by A-Team, but I've heard way too much death metal that over-technifies itself into boredom. You can only take so many balls-fast scales before it gets boring. Slam death metal is okay, but breakdowns can bore me too. Black metal is nice for a break though.
