Brazilian blow out only last 3-4 months. I do the Japanese hair straightening & its permanent & retouch the roots. I've done mine in April & its still straight & maybe due for touch up in Feb.

I got the BB last week and it definetly helped my frizzy hair. I went to buy the shampoo & conditioner yesterday, used it today, my hair does feel silky. They're SOOOOO expensive though...spend almost $80 for only the shampoo/conditioner. Didnt get the smoother...kinda wanna go get it now.

While people are concerned with formaldehyde, many that are considering a BB may not research it any further than what they hear via grapevine. We are always exposed to some level of formaldehyde--whether through glue, smog, cigarret smoke etc.. While many are jumping on the formaldehyde issue--i find it odd that people aren't speaking out against cocamide --a common ingredient in hair shampoos that is also related to causing cancer.

People considering the Brazillian Blowout (BB) should talk with a well knowledgeable hairstylist. Not all BB have formaldehyde or a derivative of formaldehyde in it. The chemical make up of the BB will make a diff on how long the processed hair will last -3 to 6 months. Overall--any type of chemical treatment to hair poses potential hair damage or health risks; therefore each individual should work with a hairstylist that is trully understanding of what they are doing with those chemicals.

im in cosmetology, its supposed to last about 14-16 weeks, i wouldnt reccomend it, but hey, to each is own. if anything i would reccomend just a keratin treatment which is basically the same, but is supposed to have no formaldehyde

I had the brazillian treatment done. Didn't kill me. I also wouldn't reccomend it cuz it didn't do anything worth $580. My opinion. I'll stick to air drying over night with it's a 10 treatment and coconut oil. Then 15 min to flat iron. My hair is softer and healthier than ever.

I just watched Dr. Oz and the person that was on the show said that the formaldehyde is to high and that because if it you can have noise bleeds and you can have trouble breathing, i would not use this product its seems to dangerous just to have stright hair its not worth it

leina i just say this on the Dr Oz show.. they said that those brazilian products contain over 10% formaldahyde which is a known carcinogen && allergen and people ahve been reporting breathing problems && nose bleeds !

I saw that episode too, today and I was floored, I was considering getting the treatment until I saw it. I was like no thanks, I'd rather not die for nice hair. I've heard really bad things about Brazilian blowout :/ It was on the news last time and they said it contains formaldehyde which has people get nose bleeds and it can even make you lose your hair.

The blow dryer on the other hand, is dope!

hey Leina, I live in Canada and Health Canada is trying to ban the distribution of this product here.

Testing conducted by Health Canada found that the Brazilian Blowout Solution contains 12% formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is permitted in cosmetics at less than 0.2% when used as a preservative. Formaldehyde is a known irritant, sensitizer, and is linked to cancer in humans.

ive got it, did it twice, we had it at out salon..it last about 3-4 months and a lil longer with supporting products . its a keretin n protein treatment. fixes hair up to 85%.AMAZING RESULTS. smoothes, stretghens, hydrates, shines. unfortunately we dont carry it anymore in canada.... it has a soft combination of phyamaldehyde. which isnt cda appoved

I don't believe the maintenance kit for the Brazilian Blowout has formaldehyde in it. It should only be the treatment that has the formaldehyde, but don't take my word on it.

Maybe you should try L'anza hair products... Andrea's Choice loves them.

the Japanese straightening isn't much different from a relaxer, it's REALLY bad for your hair.... but the Brazilian blowout, even though it says no fromaldyhyde , there have been new studies that show that there is a lot of Fromaldyhyde in it and that's what makes the keretin bind to your hair. The fromaldyhyde isn't necessarily bad for your hair but it's bad for your health
