Try this- When you cut the slit (0:32) make it a little bigger than what you have. Still too small? Make it bigger and keep experimenting to find a size that is right for you.

Have you folded it correctly? With the mountain on the inside and the valley on the outside?

But it´s much easier (and more tidy, too), when you fold the mouth while the card is still closed: Just keep it close, and fold the two sides next to the cut diagonal nto both directions. Then open, and you´ve got the same effect.
